LOL @ "designed for humans" Are they begging to be made fun of????
I think they are playing on the "everyone who doesn't use this are sheep" thing they have going on...

Galaxy Nexus. I turn off 4G for daily use and only use it when needed. If I wanna watch streams, I turn on 4G. Been able to watch 720P on both wifi and 4G with no hickups at all so I mean...quad-core? Just seems excessive. I understand it from a marketing perspective, but I really feel like dual-core is extremely future proof right now. Especially since phones also have GPU...

I'm pretty happy, by the time this comes to SA it will hopefully push the price of a GS2 down so that I can afford it for the upgrade. GS3 looks awesome but not revolutionary, which I think is to be expected at this point in smartphone evolution. It will be very difficult for a new phone to still be revolutionary (although the One X came pretty damn close, so sexy).

ICS update is finally available for the Galaxy S2 for those of you on Bell / Virgin, just fyi.

i think its pretty great. had prefered it a cm smaller, but galaxy nexus size is still fine. kinda impressed they got creative at some points, like the display not turning dark when you look at it, i guess kinda works through the front camera.

Its kind of funny how maybe even 6 months to a year ago cpu/gpu specs were incredibly important and now people are like 1.4 ghz quad? w/e. Seems like we're pretty much past the point where hardware is the limiting factor for 90% of people and now its going to be about features and battery life.

i'm a little disappointed too, but maybe they just built up too much hype. also the home button looks a little thin. but probably just have to see and hold this in person.
i actually kinda like the galaxy nexus design more than this..

same, I'm sure the package will be great and the phone will smash one-x in all benchmarks, but I think I expected something more from the features. I think my next phone after the S2 will be nexus.

Yeah, its basically what happened to laptops, what, 4 years ago? My 4 year old laptop gets 4+ hours of battery life and can stream 1080p. Until resolutions start going past 1080p, the idea of a new laptop is only really valid in terms of gaming.

As a current S2 user this is rather good news because--
It ain't that much better than the S2 :D
I don't feel the need for a bigger screen or a faster processor.
I think I'll just wait for the next Nexus to arrive.

I just got a samsung charge and it seems to be pretty much the same function/utility wise as this.

Ok, if you don't know what you're talking about, then don't. Core utilization has nothing to do with being a phone, a tablet or a desktop. It has all to do with programming, if the OS or an app is programmed to utilize more than 1 core then it will, phone or no. Guess i miss interperated what he said, but what is right is that Quad-Core and Dual-Core are pretty wasteful in mobile phones. Mr Nokia man backs up the thesis. http://crave.cnet.co.uk/mobiles/quad-core-phones-just-waste-your-battery-says-nokia-50007625/ Nokia was fully into making dual cores before they took the MS pill. Its a wonderfull phone they killed called N9.

I bought the Nokia Lumia 900 yesterday and they told me about the new S3 since i was also looking at the S2. This does have some cool stuff in it, and I'm quite a tech geek, but I would never use the phone to it's capability. I'm not one of those "use my phone to do everything" people tho, so you may think it's worth having a 12mp camera for example.

I'm so glad it's "designed for humans" I was worried there for a bit

My next phone will for sure be a Nexus unless this thing blows me away when I try it (It is slated to come out in NA right when I am set to get an upgrade). This phone is almost too big. The Galaxy Nexus was noticeably bigger than my old Galaxy S when I tried it, so this thing has to be huge, Not to mention the specs aren't even that much better.

Looks good. I'll probably get it when my rich friends get sick of it in 2 years

Pretty sure the S3 is about the same size as the nexus or smaller. The galaxy note is only slightly bigger (about 1/8th or so?) than the nexus and it's definitely bigger than the upcoming S3.
btw you can compare phone sizes very neatly on phone-size.com. (I'm not, in any way, affiliated with the site)
Also having a quadcore is a huge plus that some people don't seem to understand. 4 cores are better for battery life than 2. Has something to do with one of the cores being pretty much solely used for standby mode (and being very efficient at that). Oh yeah and you never know how hardware-hungry future applications will be. 2 cores might be good now, it might become a pain in the ass in the future. Nobody knows.
I'll probably skip the S3, because I'm happy with my note, but if I were to upgrade this summer, I would definitely get the S3.

As a GS2 owner, that phone looks fugly IMO I never liked the curve design on the phone

4.8" screen means it wont sell as good as the S2. People don't want that big screens. When do they learn?
