Hey guys! We'll be closing this thread shortly, but we will make an American politics megathread where we can continue the discussions in here.

there are a couple good essays on why a more egalitarian society supports broad based economic growth in the current issue of foreign affairs.

i think there's a paywall but the general idea is that this is not a socialist idea.

Loving how the 'Binder full of women' is backfiring on the Obama camp.
Almost funny how the more they say it the more women voters switch to Romney after they look into what he said and realize he has done more for equality than Obama has.

Best part is, Liberals act like they are the defenders of minorities when facts are Republicans are the ones who have done the most good in our country--after all which party freed the slaves.

Want equality, vote Romney
Want more sexism and social injustice, vote Obama

And egalitarian can only mean government redistribution of wealth, right? But it's not a socialist idea at all.

This post was "almost funny" until I realized you weren't joking. Though I urge you send a letter to the Romney Campaign suggesting they adopt the slogan, "Vote Romney, after all which party freed the slaves."

I find his post very amusing, vote Romney for social equality, what a joke.

Right because in the history of stateless societies there has never been a conception of "ownership." It was just invented one day.

you do realize 'governments' evolved from lords owning you, you struggling against lords etc. ever wondered where this central concentration of power came from? god didn't found the first governments.

but dont watch the 'facts' during the comment, but then you would notice its a lie. he never asked for more women?

i agree that this whole binders thing is just a news storm in a tea cup, its very doubtful anyone will change their mind either way based on a stupid turn of phrase. but you are trying to argue that someohw mitts love of binders will entice the female vote. which seems crazy.

I'm not left or right, i'm straight up.
Pro freedom, personal accountability, economic freedom, liberty, determent military doctrine, flat tax, etc
Left is anti freedom. Right is anti freedom.
Left has no personal accountability:
Bigger goverment, means more corruption/less transparency
Right has little personal accountability supporting an upper class beyond the means of growth incentives, allowing billions of dollars to go overseas.
Left has no economic freedom.
Right is too weak against monopolies/fair competetion policies

etc
etc

both groups/parties suck

This election is nothing more than an example of what
Lesser of 2 evils is really all about.

Crazy, poll numbers for women are shifting to Romney... but I'm sure you neglect all polls or other signs to anything that may be contraire to ur view point.

Wait what, can you explain any of this post to me? And besides, at that point the gop was the liberal party, not its current iteration.
