I'll be shocked if he testifies. Sounds like no other witnesses to be called. Would they go right into closing arguments or would they start them tomorrow ? Why would he ever take the stand? It just gives the other side so many options.

Would they go right into closing arguments or would they start them tomorrow ? defense will probably try to delay. you dont want the jury debating the issue this late in the day. they are tired and likely want to go home immediately.

Well, the judge has to instruct the jury, which will take the better part of an hour. Also, the state has the opportunity to present rebuttal evidence once the defense rests. I don't see the jury getting the case until tomorrow evening at the earliest.

1.5 hours is time for a start, but each side's argument, I suspect will easily exceed that amount of time.

Here we go with some more Zimmerman questioning by the Judge ...

confirmed he wont testify. I still get the feeling that he wanted to tell his side of the story.

confirmed he wont testify. I still get the feeling that he wanted to tell his side of the story. they played the video tape. he got to air his side without being subject to cross-examination. he should be giggling at his good fortune.
i do imagine he wanted to talk though and his lawyers beat him up and told him how stupid it would be. people always want to talk.

That was funny.
MOM: Now might be the time for me to present my Judgment of Acquittal Motion. Judge: And then I'll bring the jury in so we can continue the trial .....
lol.

I missed the earlier days of the trial so I didn't know that, thanks. ya, it would be a terrible idea lol. Defense asking for charges to be dismissed huh? I doubt it'll happen.

MOM: Could someone please articulate one specific scenario representing the prosecution's theory of the case such that Zimmerman's claim of self-defense doesn't hold up beyond a reasonable doubt.
Judge: Motion denied. Bring in the jury.
|
Regardless of how circumspect the prosecutions chances may seem, I think the judge is making the right move in denying acquittal. It is better for everyone involved for this to go through the jury and be finished in a traditional sense.

Judge: Motion denied. Bring in the jury. Hence my objection to both the prosecution and the judge. Prosecution should not "cast doubt on the defense". That is the job of the defense, to cast doubt.
The trial is a farce, continuing it is continuing a farce.

Not better for George Zimmerman.
I have a feeling Adam Pollack is about to get screwed.
edit: Oh, wait, I thought he was the "best friend". I got the wrong guy.

Ok, here's what's going on. There was a page on the website where requests for information about the training GZ recieved should be requested in a certain way. They were probably getting lots of requests and didn't want to handle them all by phone, so they added a page to their site to handle them more automatically. Not about marketing their services, but managing press inquiries instead of wasting time verbally answering questions.
|
What the hell IS the prosecution's theory of the case? Do they even have a singular argument?
I would have though that the characterization of Zimmerman being a wannabe cop, that thought he had the authority or ability to take matters into his own hands, would have been the strongest and most consistent argument. But it doesn't sound like that's their argument ...
