thats what happens when people who are barely literate try to write...all I can say is he is really lucky people who listen to rap like the some old shitty lyrics repeated in a million different ways.
not exactly.. that's what you get when people who are illiterate try to shoot somebody like 15 times but can't get a good shot off, and then that person recovers and other people who are near illiterate think he's a god or something... amirite?
Rap for me sort of falls into the same catagory as the Numa Numa Song or other terrible techno. It's sort of fun and catchy to listen to as a joke, but it gets old fast.

wtf, numa numa for life^^
This is Star.fatal btw, if u remember from a few years back^^
That particular song was a diss towards other rappers, Fat Joe, Jadakiss and Nas, it wasn't meant to be lyrical genius. You guys don't like it because most of you like rock...and you compare your rap to rock....when are you going to understand you can't compare the two genres, they're completely different. What do they say thats so good in rock? Pls enlighten me? If you don't like it then don't listen to it. But in the end its still selling alot more records than any of the bands you listen to. O and you think people that like rap don't separate the good type of rap from the bad one, real lyrical rap vs Club shit made just to sell talking about money cars only? Just like you separate your "real" rock from your "gay emo shit" or w.e . And if you can't understand why people like rap .... then don't keep on trying, chances are you never will. Just like some of you don't like techno....theres alot more to it thatn just "the same shit all over again and again" . Its a different genre therefore calls for different aspects like the way it builds up to a climax while incorporating other rythms, you cant appreciate that because your not an average listener of techno, while a person that listens to it can distinguish which song took more talent, or is better in their aspects. Same goes for rap.
The feeling that you get when we creep inside You won't see us there, you won't feel our stare But when we're next to you we do all we can do To get the cold sweat out, watch you squirm about And as you try to move we grab and strangle you With all of your deceit and our reality
Night Nightmares In the night
Hell is coming down, your fate has turned around Too scared to make a sound Now you're frozen there in your human shell It's a nightmare I am the god of fear
Night Nightmares In the night
Another song:
8. Pure Evil
[Music: Schaffer, Shawver / Lyrics: Schaffer]
Cannons pound into the night Angels soar into the sky The battle rages on Deliverance unholy one
The seeds of hate fly tonight Good and evil light the sky Another vision from inside I know it's wrong I can't deny
For seven years I have reigned In this damned and desolate hell Now I've lived the masters vengeance It saved me from myself
We paint the sky with blood tonight Setting free the damned to fight The whore of Babylon is here The end of the storm is near
[Chorus Pure evil Feel the pain from the jackals wrath Pure evil Dance in flames for the final quest
Hear the ghost of violence Fear the God of detriment
The land on earth is soaked with blood Hear the screams of the helpless ones Axes yield and daggers fly Ripping through all flesh in sight
We paint the sky with blood tonight Setting free the damned to fight The whore of Babylon is here The end of the storm is near
......cmon now... another? ok : 12. Burnt Offerings
[Music : Schaffer, Shawver / Lyrics : Schaffer]
In one last breath You'll feel this damned old soul You'll see the things I see
For all these years Of pain and sacrifice You'll know the pain I know
Of all these things I offer unto you Infernal wisdom waits
Now unleashed Like the flames of hate My sacrifice is made
Every note And every word you hear Comes from deep within
An angry soul That twists and turns inside Pondering this life
Crimson eyes Staring through your lies Awakes the inner rage
Take my knife Make my sacrifice You're my burnt offering
Spill your blood Offer me good omen Make the sacrifice, the hours close at hand Burn your soul Offer me good omen Take your very life, this I command
Dark shadows fall on this sacred ground Where true evil lies, summon them to rise Take the traitors, thieves and liars Feed them to the fire But first, spread their blood around The message will be found Walk carefully my friends stab my back again A warning from the sky
These are not idle threats my friends We're slaughtering the lambs True vengeance is on the rise The traitors shall be damned Cast their bodies to the flames
Spill your blood Offer me good omen Make the sacrifice, the hours close at hand Burn your soul Offer me good omen Take your very life, this I command
...now seriously MAN!! I WANNA LISTEN TO THIS TYPE OF MUSIC IN MY CAR !! cmon this shit would depress the shit out of me. Don't get pissed cuz theres people out there that like to listen to more uplifting music than this! I'm not saying its not poetic, its VERY deep ...lol...but something i'd listen to daily if i was living down in a basement maybe. And im not saying songs are like this one, byt if i were...thats exactly what you just did from that song. There's probably nicer songs out there, i don't doubt that, but i would still rather listen to a good beat than heavy metal guitars drowning out words. My 2 cents.
Load up on guns Bring your friends It’s fun to lose And to pretend She’s overboard Myself assured I know I know A dirty word

Gonna sleep now.
Except Iced Earth incorporates MUSIC, something rap rarely-if-ever does. Good music as well. And no one ever called Iced Earth lyrics "poetry". Burnt Offerings was written from the perspective of a human possessed by Lucifer in "Dante's Inferno".
Oh yeah, and Nightmares is one of the worst songs Iced Earth has EVER done.

The chorus to Smells Like Teen Spirit is describing the feeling of when you first arrive at a party. And you got the last part wrong. He ends with "a denial" like 4 times.
the problem with listing out rap lyrics or whatever, is that they dont sound like nearly as good as without the music and beat behind them. i guess you can say the same for rock. however "good rap" for the most part has a lot of lyrics, and its hard to keep up the lyrical quality. i like all sorts of music, but no matter how open minded i am, 50 cent straight sucks a big one. at least in my opinion. see i can find a good rapper with some good lyrics. THis is Sage Francis - Inherited Scars
[Verse One] I didn't tell anyone about what I seen or heard that day, mums the word still I'm scared to plant ideas into your head while your rebellious side is fertile Hurdles are getting knocked down I'm running a losing race Your legs aren't the only ones marked up - how many dreams have you chased? If I could have said this to your face maybe you wouldn't have to write like I do, Except I use paper instead of my body now; it's something you might want to try too From haikus to horror stories, it's something in our blood that we share, Something in our blood that appears on the surface of our skin when we bring it there My facial expression said I didn't care Hate and aggression must've made an impression on the little kid who stared, Sitting on stairs when I would bother to bring my skates My feeble attempt at being a strong, big brother doing father figure 8's Ripping my cape on the ground that it dragged on Tripping on fate and hearing the sounds of a sad song Listen, it's great sharing time now that dad's gone, But what's with the choice of words? Or the body parts that you decided to tag them on? I'm a vagabond, who moved to modern day Babylon and then back again With minimal contact and you know I can't ask your mom what's happening You've got such beautiful gifts What are you doing ruining the packaging? How ironic come to think I probably put this ink on my back for him I want you to laugh and sing more, But you dropped anchor in a place where dreams go to die and you're keeping your ass indoors I'm asking for you to stick it out and see things through You're asking for me to zip my mouth and keep it just between me and you
[Chorus] If I could have been there from the beginning if I could be there right now if I could promise to be there when you need me, would it raise an eyebrow? How would your body be different if I still dropped by for visits? Is it my place to put a smile on your face? Could I erase your body language telling you its all been said before? Or change the words you wrote, exchanging your scars for my metaphors? I'd add them to my collection while smiling Next time you want to paint with razor blades and need a canvas use my skin
[Verse Two] Hiding your sins well, but I see the hell that your limbs speak Tongue in cheek Lying awake in bed while other kids sleep The strength of evil begins to keep your grins weak No matter the length of the needle marking up one's body is so much more than skin deep Feel the pin prick The grim reep what they sew and you're trained to say that you're fine Your threshhold for pain is greater than mine So I'm waiting in the lines that you give me patiently, While you get cut in the lines that THEY make YOU wait inin ways that they can't see If there's a vacancy as far as room in your life goes, say it to me But don't do it with a knife under your clothes Because the anguish of hidden skin is letting my ghosts be shown Plus the language its written in hits especially close to home I'm most alone when I'm out of touch with the people who feel this type of pain You might just aim for a day that its raining to strike a vein to take my name in Changing your uniform and altering your mind set Has your pointer finger decided if it was a fault of his or mine yet?I bet I know the dialect It's nowhere I haven't been before With skin that's sore Battle scars that rise from our inner war Are decorative medals of honor that our father decided to pass through inheritance And it is repetitive when the kids head in the direction of evidence proving the pain and hurt is relative

Chorus e=mc, e=mc hawking! Verse 2 i explode like a bomb, no one is spared, my power is my mass times the speed of light squared. hoes on my tip, 15 bullets in my clip, my hand rests heavy on my pistol grip. doomsday cuts it up like a shaolin monk, pumping the funk in your junk-trunk punk. there's no escaping here, i'm gonna beat you out of shape, like a fucking black hole even light can't escape. got the mind to bust a rhyme to make your brain bleed, other rappers talk shit, but they gotta concede, that i'm a 3 sandwich eatin', super-model meetin', step to me punk and you're gonna get a beatin'. so listen up bitch, 'cause there may be a test, my style is smooth, but it's hard to digest. my science is tight, rhymes faster than light, like a ton of tnt i'm about to ignite. I was your fear and you were my fate I wanted you near but I bred your hate You left me for dead, deep down in the mud With scars of my head, in my heart and my blood
On my head, in my heart and my blood On my head, in my heart and my blood
A caress of stars A silhouette in the twilight sky The daybreak sets on silver seas My name echoes through crimson hills
On the horizon, where seas meet clouds A scenery shimmers beyond reality I glance a world as a recent lit star I am swallowed by universe
A vacant eye caught the last moonlight A wish to die to be shining bright As a star to light your way To where we are not led astray
Where we are not led astray Where we are not led astray
A caress of stars A silhouette in the twilight sky The daybreak sets on silver seas My name echoes through crimson hills
On the horizon, where seas meet clouds A scenery shimmers beyond reality I glance a world as a recent lit star I am swallowed by universe
Deep in death Wrapped in the morning deauty Comes close my love My dearest sister and friend
Alone I sit, I wonder why You dream of love and so do I But in your sleep you cannot see This pain which is always haunting me What I need I'll never feel This world is for me unreal So I drink to darkness with a candle lit And through the whole night alone I sit
The sleeping beauty She stops the bleeding She stops the bleeding in my soul She is fresh air in this stinking world
The more I drink, the more I see That suicide could be the key To the place called paradise Where pain not dwells, not hate nor lies But if I look beyond all this I reckon something I would surely miss Because in my dreams I rule my life And the sleeping beauty is my wife
The sleeping beauty She stops the bleeding She stops the bleeding in my soul She is fresh air in this stinking world

My thought: Plato is not a poet. Yep 50cent sucks. However, lyrics don't matter to everyone. I bet they don't matter to you, given the fact that Iced Earth's lyrics are so "metally"cliche when talking about demons, hell etc and truly horrible when talking about more common stuff (friendship etc). I think their best album is burnt offerings, not due to the lyrics though (I stopped listening when the dark saga album came out ).About their song writing throughout their albums:This whole caffeine overdose rythm guitar thing is getting tiring and the songs are not getting more mature, in fact they are continuously getting worse.
My hard-earned opinion on "metal" music at the present is : It's like an ocean of shit with a few diamonds hidden in it. I wonder if its worth the dive.

Well , these are not your own parody lyrics of smells like teen spirit. I've seen that funny video too. I believe the original song has good lyrics, even if they at some point get incredibly personal (beyond any understanding) It's not always about the lyrics though.
[Talib Kweli] (Spoken) Yea, so we got this tune called ";For Women"; right Originally, it was by Nina Simone She said it was inspired by, you know Down south. In the south, they used to call her Mother Antie She said No Mrs. Just Antie She said if anybody ever called her Antie she'd burn the whole goddamn place down I'm over past that Coming into the new millenium, we can't forget our elders
[Talib Kweli] I got off the 2 train in Brooklyn on my way to a session Said let me help this woman up the stairs before I get to steppin' We got in a conversation she said she a 107 Just her presence was a blessing and her essence was a lesson She had her head wrapped And long dreads that peeked out the back Like antenna to help her get a sense of where she was at, imagine that Livin' a century, the strenght of her memories Felt like an angel had been sent to me She lived from nigger to colored to negro to black To afro then african-american and right back to nigger You figure she'd be bitter in the twilight But she alright, cuz she done sseen the circle of life yo Her skin was black like it was packed with melanin Back in the days of slaves she packin' like Harriet Tubman Her arms are long and she moves like song Feet with corns, hand with callouses But her heart is warm and her hair is wooly And it attract a lot of energy even negative She gotta dead that the head wrap is her remedy Her back is strong and she far from a vagabond This is the back of the masters' whip used to crack upon Strong enough to take all the pain, that's been Inflicted again and again and again and again and flipped It to the love for her children nothing else matters What do they call her? They call her aunt Sara.

i agree with you. Alot of people that like rock dont like the songs on the radio cause they dont like the mainstream rock bands out there. But on the other hand always critic rap by what they hear constantly played on the radio and dont realize just like there is an underground rock culture, there is the same for rap. But most of the people on the forum wanna put down other genre's because they just dont wanna have an open mind to genre's total oppisite of what they like. There are so many people that like to put down tastes of other people because its contrary to their own and its really sad ;\. If you dont like something dont listen to it, please dont make dumb topics which are basicly "ROFL look at this song, isn't it stupid?" Everyone talks about respecting and other peoples taste but few actually do.
The only reason why people listen to 50 cent is because his songs have great beats to listen. Why you think almost all the clubs play his songs? The way he raps has good rhythm, it actually flows great witht he beats unlike Silk the shocker and the other rappers who just sound like their talking in their songs.

lol I bet you that there have been more suicides from people that listen to rock than there have been shootings.
yep music doesn't cause someone to commit suicide jesus christ it's just that rock music is generally less upbeat than hiphop. (not more depressive. I can't think of anything more depressive than people idolizing (the vast majority of, there are certainly some who deserve respect. =]) hiphop stars and the bling bling culture. ) and it IS more common for the "popular crowd" to listen to hiphop than rock. (myself by far preferring rock. )
and thus people who start listening to rock are more likely to commit suicide before they start listening to rock than people who listen to hiphop before they start listening to hiphop claiming the music has anything to do with it is fucking bullshit.
I don't think hiphop music causes shootings either though.

Note: billboard since 50 cent = US Where do you see a proper rock album apart from Evanescence? (if you wanna call them rock that is)
first of all billboard is only american. the american music scene is very, very different from the european. singles list generally have a larger number of hiphop songs here in norway as well though, but that's because people who listen to rock usually want the full album..
that's the list over the most selling albums in norway in 2004
some of those artists are norwegian thus you won't have heard of them. BUT, there are more than 3 times as many albums I would characterize as rock than albums I would characterize as hiphop/rap. there's some r&b too, but there is far more pop-rock.
in fact eminem (with encore) is the highest placing rap artist. with number 14. guns and roses, a rockband that has been extinct for more than 10 years, with greatest hits placed 8.
so while the AMERICAN rock scene might be dying, that's most DEFINITELY not the case here.
Well despite the fact that US music scene is the most predominant in the world, rock is almost non - existent in Asia apart from Japan (unless underground of course) so that should balance out the europe...
i dont even like rock music but your arguments are retarded, its not dying, it wont die, and it cannot possibly die. Who cares about what asia listens to, seriously ive never heard of one retarded asian artist in america ever. So =) and even if i havent heard of the rock bands in europe im sure they are bigger here than the asian music is over here +O
you did however claim it was a global trend. while it is not a trend in europe at all. so there's nothing I have to suck up, because I live in europe, don't intend on living anywhere else, and I greatly prefer rock to hiphop. (although there is quite a lot of hiphop I enjoy as well.. )
Asia + America + Oceania = pretty global isn't it?
I remember in my early days in Australia rock music was predominant here everone was going nuts for silverchair and stuff but now it's a whole different story so it's safe to say that rock music is in decline in Oceania as well(NZ as well).
can't you PLEASE just concede ONE MINOR POINT and admit that you phrased yourself in a bad way? PLEASE? you're really annoying me right now..
I mean I'm not even arguing that hiphop is growing far faster than rock is. im only saying that rock is not dying and there's no reason why I would have to "suck up" anything, because where I live rock is thriving.

that's the list over the most selling albums in norway in 2004
some of those artists are norwegian thus you won't have heard of them.
I was going to reply to the billboard posting, but this is just as good as anything I would have said.
Er...... I wasn't even considering norway 0.00000000001% when I wrote that statement since this thread started because of 50 cent so sure, you have nothing to suck up, I mean I couldn't care less. So yeah, while statistically it is true that on the whole rock is in decline globally except maybe europe, you have nothing to suck up.
the music industry as a whole is in decline, look at record sales from 5-6 years ago compared to today ;O everyone back then went platinum, its not the case right now
I was talking about the proportion of each genre % not the number of sales itself thanks, why do you think I got the charts instead of number of records rappers sold?
......... ok What do number of sales represent? what do you think? Do you buy albums because you have nothing else better to spend your money on or because you like that particular band/music?
Going back to the lyrics thing, 50's aren't deep for sure but at least you can take it on the second degree and it becomes quite funny.
Metal lyrics on the other hand are so utterly bad there can't even be a second degree of appreciation there. It's so bad it's not even funny.
Oh and another point. At least when 50's rapping about guns and hustling and shit, he knows from experience. He isn't "frontin" as he would say.
Whereas all the metal nerds singing about apocalypse and satan and armageddon and whatever only have ever known their parents' basement and dungeons and dragons.

the best lyrics I've ever read were from metal/rock bands (they weren't about satan and the apocalypse though ) And I couldn't care less if he's "being true to himself" if he writes like shit. I could write lyrics "being true to myself" and talking about my everyday life before I was a famous music star, they would still suck.
Metal lyrics are bad? I used to listen to rap before.. i loved rap for a few years but then I saw that many lyrics in hardcore and metal are WAY better than rap lyrics. Some rappers are "true to themselves" but G-unit aren't part of them. It's trash. At least metal is low profile unlike this gangster (wtf? they aren't gangsters they are acting) stuff.

haha thats so true, lets yell about angels and the world ending and wear funny masks and stuff.
There is more energy yelling about angels and stuff than just moving your head up and down to encourage some nigger getting more clickity clank in his piggy bank
I like RUSH, that includes the musical part and the lyrical, heres a sample:
Rush - Freewill
There are those who think that life has nothing left to chance A host of holy horrors to direct our aimless dance
A planet of play things We dance on the strings Of powers we cannot perceive 'The stars aren't aligned Or the gods are malign...' Blame is better to give than receive
[Chorus You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill I will choose a path that's clear I will choose freewill
There are those who think That they were dealt a losing hand The cards were stacked against them They weren't born in Lotusland
All preordained A prisoner in chains A victim of venomous fate Kicked in the face You can't pray for a place In heaven's unearthly estate
[Chorus]
Each of us A cell of awareness Imperfect and incomplete Genetic blends With uncertain ends On a fortune hunt that's far too fleet
bad rap? i don't know i used to listen to the best rap out there. Cypress,2pac outlawz, binary star, flipmode,IAM wu-tang etc...rap was good.. i think it isn't anymore .. i think good rap is dead mostly. but anyways it lacks motivation.. guitar and drums > computer beats since everyone is posting lyrics... i'll post some that represent myself well;)
I am the walking dead heartbreaker... my apologies... I'm happy you'll never understand... what it's like to be... trapped under six feet of... solid glass... I can see out, but no one gets in...
Screaming at the prison... I've locked myself into.. I'm sorry that I'm still breathing... and that I'll Kill again...
but the loneliness is too much... for me to handle. the taste of fresh blood... pushes me on.
I.. told myself.. the constant pain.. could ease..the tension... the burning inside.. But the nights... were cold... and the days... dragged to weeks... I will die... here alone... I will die..
The fear of romance. The pain of living. The joy of sorrow. The strength of not forgiving.
God help me... I'm so tired... but in my dreams... the wolves eat out my soul... God help me... I'm so frightened... but in my dreams... the wolves tear out my heart...
I used to be golden... a saint in a time of sorrow... but then the turning came... and I kissed the sun goodbye... don't you get it... it's always darker in my eyes, the screams of my brothers.. egging me on
hip hop's golden days have dwindled away with the likes of eazy-e, rakim/eric b, tupac, biggie, big l, n.w.a., a tribe called quest, and even the younger dre and snoop, among others.
these days, i can't bare listening to any hip hop, beyond a handful of artists, who would be considered 'underground'. Simply put, the more popular artists/groups are utter shite.

I like rap, just not shitty bullshit MTV rap with no substance. These rappers have JACK SHIT to say today. Listen to a rapper like 2pac and todays rappers and you get the impression that any idiot can make a rap cd these days.
First of all, you like 1tym. If any of you don't know what that is, 1tym was the Korean equivalent of..... You know what? I can't even think of a well known american group that was as gay and pointless as 1tym.
I bet you are one of those fags that like flytosky, god, etc and all that other bullshit.
most MUSIC is not poetic, rap definately, but pretty much anything mainstream is tired and recycled garbage.
Here are some lyrics from a song I'm sure a lot of you have heard, not much repetition and also they have MEANING. Something rare these days.
Something has to change. Un-deniable dilemma. Boredom's not a burden Anyone should bear.
Constant over stimu-lation numbs me and I wouldn't have It any other way.
It's not enough. I need more. Nothing seems to satisfy. I don't want it. I just need it. To feel, to breathe, to know I'm alive.
Finger deep within the borderline. Show me that you love me and that we belong together. Relax, turn around and take my hand.
I can help you change Tired moments into pleasure. Say the word and we'll be Well upon our way.
Blend and balance Pain and comfort Deep within you Till you will not have me any other way.
It's not enough. I need more. Nothing seems to satisfy. I don't want it. I just need it. To feel, to breathe, to know I'm alive.
Knuckle deep inside the borderline. This may hurt a little but it's something you'll get used to. Relax. Slip away.
Something kinda sad about the way that things have come to be. Desensitized to everything. What became of subtlety?
How can it mean anything to me If I really don't feel anything at all?
I'll keep digging till I feel something.
Elbow deep inside the borderline. Show me that you love me and that we belong together. Shoulder deep within the borderline. Relax. Turn around and take my hand.
Obviously about the desensitization of people and the media. Towards .....well....everything.

not to mention its not like you cant still listen to any of those people good music is timeless, rap now just has better production overall, while the lyrics have gone down from the average rapper in comparison from now to mid-early 90's
90% of the rap on public radio or that you can buy at a regular record store like Tower Records is commercialized and targeted to suburban hip hop people. Most dont even really pay attention to the lyrics, they listen to the beat.
50 cent is also an amazing rapper, its just his latest album is trash and marketed towards the teeny bop population. Rappers put their best effort in their initial album and what they put on underground mixtapes. What counts to them and the rap community is the stuff they put on their underground tapes, not what they put in big name stores. Thats whats for the general public. Most of the general public that has heard 50's albums have never heard his underground songs, which there are probably 150 of, give or take.
The best rap is on the underground mixtapes, or on the rap satellite radio stations.
And to sit here and say rap is garbage is simply ignorant. People are a product of their enviroment, and people that listen to rap appreciate it for the skill it takes and the language used because of the enviroment they were raised in (Not the teeny bop shit on MTV and the radio). How many people in the ghetto you think listen to metallica? Are they correct if they say its garbage because they were never exposed to it, or dont particularly care for it? Do you really think that because you dont understand whats behind the music, and the whole genre, that its crap?
Some people like country, rock, R&B, blues, techno, etc. I personally dont listen to any of these, nor do I enjoy hearing any of it, but who am I to say they are crap?

The distaste in the lyrics is directly related to the played-out themes, which is the main problem. The gangster-'fuck da police' scene was appealing and unique back in the days of N.W.A., because it was never heard of prior to then, but now, it's just getting old, repetitive, and annoying.
On September 16 2005 09:09 1tym wrote: Rock is dying... hiphop is getting bigger and bigger.. and it's a global trend.. so suck it up
Rock has never been the biggest selling genre, except for maybe in the early 70's. How many 60's, 70's pop bands can you remember? And how many rock bands?
Also rock has been through many 'dark ages' before', early 60's, the late 80's, etc... and no metal will never be mainstream, but there are many good rock bands out there today. Radiohead and Tool are recording right now, Pearl Jam is releasing a new album soon, Muse is pretty good, etc etc.
well let just hope they dont atart mixing rap and rock again ....limp bizkit.....linken park...the only good rap /rock mix was R.A.T.M other then that it all kinda sux now rap and rock say what you want but hearing about 22inch rims and with rock yelling sooo loud that i cant understand wtf they r saying just is not entertainment G-unit wtf is that? what is a G-unit? all that sh!t is for the suburbs......white guys ...pull your pants up

Yea that is my problem : I listen music to listen MUSIC. I listen mostly music from other country and I don't get anything they say. But if it sounds good ( my earing(?) is developped ), then I am sold.
This is why I don't like any kind of rap : Abuse of a riff, and singer, well that is not a singer it is a rapper, talking on the same tone.

Rock isn't dying, it is as great as it ever was. Rock was never mainstream and that's what has always kept it honest and good.
Hiphop is nothing but a new version of disco. Shitty mainstream crap that will disapear when it's time has been spent. Ask yourself, where is disco now? Exactly. And the same type of shallow and image/culture driven mainstream that gave disco it's success is now supporting rap.
As the great Mike Myer's once said, "You think Zeppelin cared about making music that everyone liked? They left that to the BeeGees!"

yeah G[o_O]k[SoLo] that 300 bars song is so awesome ive been listening to it for like a month now. It sucks that they cant be friends but game and g-unit are both awesome.

Game sucks. His whole album was nothing but hanging off of G-unit and Eminems dick. 300 bars was ok, but its nothing special, its just long as fuck.
Why would anyone vs cassidy? He's a fucking joke. I dont know one person that listens to him, other than the MTV crowd.

much much better than 50 cents...thats for damn sure
so i kind of hate rap because all i've heard is radio stuff but i love many kinds of music so if someone gives some examples of really well done rap, it would be good i love to explore that kind of stuff

Rap is just something you have to learn to listen to. If you're not open to it you won't ever understand the brilliance behind it. Every musicgenre can be good in its own kind, there's no need to bash it or anything. It all comes down to your personal taste.. If you don't like it, sure, but don't talk shit about it, since you most likely haven't even bothered to 'understand' the music then.
But I agree, 50 isn't the greatest indeed ^_^; but it's not like he's the worst rapper around either, he actually got a couple nice songs.. it's just that the stuff that most people have been hearing on tv and shit is all crap :o
those of you saying Game was just leaching off of g-unit and eminem on the documentary.. your f*cking stupid your raised in compton selling drugs watching your back every minute your out of your house and apparently in it and your gonna start beef with the ones who are paying you 1 million dollars to write some "poetry"... wow either you guys have alot of money or your plain stupid...

Game was more anticipated than 50Cent anyways despite the fact that he was with g-unit because most people hardly knew dre was gonna stick him with G-Unit they just knew he was comin out with Aftermath but he was most anticipated and outsold 50Cent's CD*^^

what the f*ck are you on? are you really that stupid? 50cents new cd was like a rock/punk record 2:30 songs rofl.. pathetic id be pissed buying that sh*t.. and lets see 50 put this many punches in a single song .. as soon as 50cent tops 300 bars in a song ill lay off em rofl.. he supposedly "murdered fat joe and jadakiss and took shots at nas" in his piggy bank song.. i saw like 1 hit per each rapper hes beefin with.. seriously wtf?
*btw* incase you didnt know cassidy's battled hella freestylers good cats and he recently retired from freestyling undefeated in his entire career.. so read up on it before you talk.. clown..
how about you people stop pretending you know what you are talking about
all rappers say they are undefeated etc. unles sthey have publicly lost
Cassidy beat freeway in a really gay battle, BIG DEAL
im not sure exactly what he did on fight klub, i dont even know if he battled anyone, but if he did im sure it wasnt anyone good anyway =) And Game was not more anticipated than 50cent dunno where yuo got that from, 50cent's original buzz > Game's by fuckloads ;O
They both arent that good, although games new cd > massacre mainly because production was so much better and game name dropping every song
Game and Memphis bleek were supposed to each put up 50k or something for a battle, of course it would never happen because the labels wouldnt want either of their products to get aired out

50 cents original buzz? you mean before he was exposed for snitching and making cd's totally for females and such? you mean when everyone THOUGHT he was a real G? yah ok then but id love to put up games new cd in comparison to fittys old one or new one =)
by the way i seriously doubt if cassidy lied about his freestyling career he would call out (at the time) the most famous and "Skilled" (yeh right) rapper that was "MainStream" if you will.. well known etc..
seems like everyone here listens to metal sometimes though. if your remember that "what album are you listening to today", like half of them where rather unknown metal bands (to the average american) . i think people here are missing the point of rap, it is really the complete opposite of metal to me.
when i listen to rap, i may be into the beat and music a lot, but ill for sure be listening to the lyrics and how they fit with the music and how it times right and if they are good or not. when i listen to metal, well i dont know like any of the lyrics like nearly all of the songs i have (most of the time because its not in english), and nor do i care. the voice becomes more of an instrument then something to be trying to listen to for words.

You dont need to same something to get it trhough a song.
Classical (spelling?) music has no lyrics at all, although it gets its message x1000 times better than any kind of music.

newsflash, they all lie about what they did.
rappers call each other out all the time, Big deal. The fact that you call 50cent a snitch is funny too, when you probably dont even know why they call him a "snitch" .
50cents Buzz was so much bigger than Games prior to his cd being released, Why do you think he got a $500,000 watch and $500,000 advance from Eminem and Dr.Dre =) Game Sat on the shelf for 2 years :0
Doesnt matter because neither of them are particularly good, just trying to help you get your facts straight

Stop talking out of your ass. Game was only good in G unit, and his songs were so good because 50 cent hepled him write most of his shit, AND game got alot of outside producers. And 50 cent a snitch?? Lmao, he gave no info to authorities when he got shot, and its NOW that their finding out Muder Inc. has plans to murder 50 cent, so please tell me how he is a snitch? Here's the news for you : Plans to murder 50 cent And 50 cent making a bitch cd? Lmao you must be caught up listening to just a lil bit and candy shop, which are as far as im concerned, his only bitch songs (which are MADE to be put in clubs and sell) and considering he made most of his album (at least more than game did) himself, i think its pretty fucking good, and the lyrics aren't bad at all. Game on the other hand, is shit now that he's out of g unit, i haven't heard ONE song from him that i'd like to listen to. The only good song (a diss song at that) was 300 bars, and 50 + g unit just came back with a 300 shots. Nobody's doubting cassidy's freestyling skill at all, but he was just beefing with 50 cent to get bigger. Doing exactly what 50 did. And his cd isn't that good, only song that rlly sold was "I'm a hustla" and thats because swizz beatz helped him out with the production And the beat. Besides most of his songs are about hoe he's a hustler anyways, the material isnt that good. All in all game is a BITCH who got KICKED OUT of G-unit by 50 cent for being a disloyal, if not he'd still be in it latched on to 50's nut sack.
Edit: And game sold more than 50 cent? Lmao pls shh kid, games sales were no where near 50's and if they were (which they aren't and never will be) its Because of 50 cent and G-unit in the first place that he sold so much.
lmfao all these rap critics....wow 50 cent this, game that, lmfao you dont even know these people all this "beef" is a joke all for record sales get over it this is 1 of the funnyist posts ever you all take this stuff so serious its all a joke and a gimick for selling out......roflmfao
He was an okay lyricist, but his songs were all about the same thing basically and there were many better grunge lyricists, like chris cornell, eddie vedder, etc etc.
well IMO the documentary was overall better than the massacre, it has a lot of good songs like "we aint", "higher", "westside story", and a few others. oh and eminems encore just sucked.
but a real lyrical genius is obviously mike jones...
A couple of 'em said I was cute but I was just too chubby now they aint trippin cuz my pockets stick out more than my belly
mike jones who? mike jones who? mike jones I SAID mike jones who?

yeah, I agree chris cornell and eddie vedder are better than cobain, in fact I would put those two in front of pretty much anyone
The people who have only heard the radio "mainstream" shit are missing out. I'm real big into underground rap, basically all that gay shit cut out and they actually rap about struggles and shit they have been through. I'm not going to lie, I like G-Unit just to listen to cause its catchy but I don't believe a fucking word about how "thug" they are.
Underground I Would Suggest:
Masta Ace (wondeful, esp. his new cd 'A Long Hot Summer') Jedi Mind Tricks (different style, they talk about crazy shit) King Gordy (associates with D-12, probably be famous soon)
Try those, and if you like them tell me and I'll post more...
But, anyway, usually underground rappers when they hit mainstream change for the public. 50 cents gay ass "In Da Club" song was catchy but it fucking sucked. In my opinion, he has some talent but now he is so popular he does whatever and people eat it up. Whatever. Underground is the way to go...
P.S. Lloyd Banks = Best Rapper out of G-Unit, but his recent cd and shit blows, but if he actually raps well his metaphores are good and shit. Look into him...

meh, i suppose. i just dont see a difference between a rapper trying to project an image of being a thug and britney spears projecting an innocent image, or slutty image; or a band like shpongle projecting a transcendental image.

uh no all music
That's a pretty broad generalization. Mainstream music, yes, but music with substance needs very little image support. And yes, some of that music is even on major labels, though not best selling, artists of great calibre sometimes make it into an HMV. Look harder and you'll find them.

there is so so so much music that does not require commercialization. there is commercialized music which requires extreme talent as well. i think your statement that all music is 95% image is completely wrong.
edit: the first band website i checked (queenonline.com) did not have an 'image'..

nerds are also by definition smarter than your average teenager (that alone should drive him away from rap/pop/dance etc... jk jk, don't get offended ppl ) and that can create alienation issues and anti-social behaviour etc, so they are more likely to relate to metal/rock lyrics and just general attitude.

That is the stupidest statistic I have ever read. How do you come to that conclusion? Not all bands focus on image. If that statistic is true, then how is it that I have fallen in love with the music of numerous musicians without seeing them, knowing anything about them, or seeing their website/logo. Maybe for mainstream music your statisitics could work, but for anything that is actually good image is not an issue. If anything, non-mainstream music could be 95%music and 5% image.

cuz sc = on the internet, internet nerds are highly likely to like metal. There was a study in europe about it.
actually no joke, i would imagine that most true nerds (stereotypical ones) would meet that percentage because most nerds have no selfesteem and few friends. So it would be likely they listen to a more emotional type of music rather than a party type genre or a gang type. Atleast thats my opinon, but its based on no real evidence.
nerds are also by definition smarter than your average teenager (that alone should drive him away from rap/pop/dance etc... jk jk, don't get offended ppl ) and that can create alienation issues and anti-social behaviour etc, so they are more likely to relate to metal/rock lyrics and just general attitude.

For those who don't know, Tupac was really into reading and writing poetry before he started rapping, there's even a book on amazon.com with some of his work "The Rose That Grew From Concrete"
Tupac even changed his name to to Makaveli after an Italian philosopher whoe's teachings iterested Tupac.

"life is pain, so let's sacrifice our souls to the demons of darkness"
"ooOOooyehehaheha babay ooOOoo LOVE yea buy my albums I was on American Idoool"
This is merely what one sees and hears on TV. Which unfortunately is all most people see and hear all their lives. That idiot who put the words 50 Cent and Poet in the same sentence deserve nothing more than 50 cent.

what else is there in life? =)
Getting depressed with life and whining about it!
That's not what metal is about anyhow.
Here are some real metal lyrics:
Red flash clouds Choking out the morning sky They said it'd never come, We knew it was a lie All forms of life die now, The humans all succumb Time to kiss your ass goodbye, The end has just begun
Distorted figures walk the street, It's 1999 Weeds once underneath the feet Have grown to vines Bodies melted like a candle, A land without a face No time to change your fate, No time left, it's too late
The aresenal of Megadeth can't be rid of they said And if it comes the living will envy the dead Racing for power and all come in last No winning, first stone cast
This falsehood wordly peace Its treaties soon will cease No one will be left to prove That humans existed Maybe soon the children Will be born open fisted We all live on one planet And it will all go up in smoke
Too bad they couldn't see this lethal energy And now the final scene, a global darkening
Dig deep the piles of rubble and ruin Towering overhead both far and wide There's unknown tools for World War III Einstein said, 'We'll use rocks on the other side' No survivors, set the world afire!
Tell me that's about getting depressed and cutting yourself, or whining about life.
Here's more for ya:
Thermal count is rising In perpetual writhing The primordial ooze And the sanity they lose
Awakened in the morning To more air-pollution warnings Still we sleepwalk off to work As our nervous systems jerk
Pretending not to notice How history has forbode us With the greenhouse in effect Our environment is wrecked
Now I can only laugh As I read our epitaph We end our lives as moles In the dark of the dawn patrol
More:
Born from the dark, In the black cloak of night. To envelope its prey below, Deliver to the light, To eliminate your enemy, Hit them in their sleep, And when all is won and lost, The spoils of war are yours to keep.
Great nations built from the bones of the dead, With mud and straw, blood and sweat, You know your worth when your enemies Praise your architecture of aggression.
Ensuing power vacuum, A toppled leader dies His body fuels the power fire, And the flames rise to the sky. One side of his face a kiss, The other genocide, Time to pay with your ass, A worldwide suicide.
Born from the dark, In the black cloak of night. To envelope its prey below, Deliver to the light, To eliminate your enemy, Hit them in their sleep, And when all is won and lost, The spoils of war are yours to keep.
All rap is doing is the same things rock did twenty years ago, without the talent. Motley Crue did it all about girls, drugs, cars, everything, they sang about it, and they played some awesome music with it. It wasn't just a fucking beat, either. KISS did songs about girls all the time, practically every band has done songs about drugs. The rappers aren't doing anything original by talking about drugs, cars, women, big houses, and money, because it was all done before by the hardrock and metal groups. Now most of it's just emo bullshit.
ok, if all rap is like 50 cent then all metal is like linkin park and evenescence, its a dumbass way to look at it. of course there are crap rappers, just the same way there is crap rock (for a while there was more crap rock than crap rap played on the radio, now its more flipped). if you think every single rapper sings about bitches, gunz, money, and drugs all the time, then you really need to think long and hard how illogical that is.

shut up, you listen to "christians approved" music.
eminem (sorry) has or had some of the cleverest lyrics with the most complicated rhyme schemes in rap. it's gotten worse with his newest album, but the eminem show made me laugh out loud many times. still not much to talk about as far as content goes. 50 cent is just fucking terrible, the only reason he gets anywhere is because he has help from the best producers in the business, not to mention a thug-life image that makes tupac blush. i just want to kill people when they tell me how great 50 cent is.
i think rap is a novelty act that'll either mature into something worth listening to or just eventually squeeze itself into a niche genre for african americans or wiggers. whatever. please just let people stop singing 50 cent in the locker room please.
only reason 50 is famous is because of m&m and dre anyway they are just 2 lazy bitches that hire (slave 50) to make them some money. i like rap alot but rock is 10 times better :S
Wow, fine some better rap plz. That's like comparing Britney Spears and Luther Vandross cuz they both pop.. No way man.. and anyone who says rap is for retards is retarded. Wtf is up with this board and then some idiot (ZIA) findin some of the worst lyrics she can to flame 50 who the world knows sucks only to bring indirect flame to other rappers.
Here's a classic for ya, tell me how this isn't ill? This was back in the early 90's...
Before a blunt, I take out my fronts Then I start to front, matter of fact, I be on a manhunt You couldn't catch me in the streets without a ton of reefer That's like Malcom X catching the Jungle Fever King poetic, too much flava, Im major Atlanta ain't braver, I pull a number like a pager Cuz I'm an ace when I face the bass 40 side is the place that is giving me grace Now wait, another dose and you might be dead And I'm a Nike head, i wear chains that excite the feds And aint' a damn thing gonna change I'ma performer, (I'll) show the mic warmer was born to gain Nas, why did you do it You know you got the mad fat fluid when you rhyme, it's halftime
Right... It's halftime...
It's like that, you know it's like that I got at him, now you never get the mic back When I attack, there ain't an army that could strike back So I react never calmly on a hype track I set it off wit my own rhyme Cuz I'm as ill as a convict who kills for phone time I'm max like cassettes, I flex like sex In your stereo sets, Nas will catch wreck I used to hustle, now all I do is relax and strive When I was young, I was a fan of the Jackson 5 I drop jewels, wear jewels to never run it Wit more kicks than a baby in a mother's stomach Nasty Nas has to rise, kid, surprise This is exercise til the microphone dies Back in '83, I was an MC sparking But I was too scared to grab the mic's in the park and Kick my little raps cuz I thought niggaz wouldn't understand And now in every jam I'm the phucking man I rap in front of more niggaz than in the slave ships I used to watch C.H.I.P.S, now I load glock clips I got to have it, I miss Mr Magic Versatile, my style switches like a faggot But not a bisexual, I'm an intellectual Of rap, I'm a professional and that's no question, yo These are the lyrics of the man, you can't near it, understand Cuz in the streets, I'm well known like the number man In my place wit the bass and format Explore rap and tell me Nas ain't all that And next time I rhyme, I be foul whenever I freestyle I see trial niggaz say I'm wow I hate a rhymebiter's rhyme Stay tuned, Nas, soon the real rap comes at halftime
More kicks than a baby in a mother's stomach? PUA~ Golden. Not to mention his rhyme scheme and the way he raps it doesn't do justice as text on a page.
So slick~ So smoove, plus his technique is one of the best rap has.. but very few here coudl catch the subtleties in his rap cuz yall just hate.

Pull your head out of your ass, please.
Um.. are you like retard?? My argument from the beginning is that the hiphop genre is getting more and more popular than the rock genre these days. So unless you're trying to counter my opinion your post is pointless. So let's just assume that you're trying to counter my point. Say out of 150 people 100 people download mp3s and 50 people buy albums. Now, unless you have a valid source to prove that more rock fans download mp3s then hiphop fans my statement stays true. Because really what counts is the distribution (%) of the sales between different genres, not the number of sales itself. I don't know why you bother to mention radio hits when it's not really significant. Again, unless you have a valid source to prove that there were more radio hits of rock genre than others, your statement is useless. I'm not trying to argue that the music industry in whole are not declining, sure it is.. I totally agree.. so think before you post and before you tell me to pull my head out of of my ass, keep in your mind that unlike you, I don't have the talent to talk out of my ass.
Every genre of music will have groups that produce crap. Posting lyrics from those groups in attempt to belittle somebody else's musical preference is really quite lame, and attempting to generalize the entire genre by it is even worse.

i loved the eminem show even though a lot of the lyrics sacrificed grammar for obscenely complicated but satisfying rhyme schemes.
"Like they worship us, plus all the stores ship us platinum Now how the fuck did this metamorphosis happen"
he rhymes "stores ship us platinum" with meta"morphosis happen," which if you knew something about writing lyrics, is pretty clever. when he does this consistently throughout the album, it's hard to argue he isn't a good lyricist. eminem is the only rapper i've ever enjoyed listening to, just because of his insane rhymes.

it really doesn't matter what the lyrics of a song are thats not the only factor that makes me like it or not.
and the first song posted; i really didn't think the lyrics were that bad. it is also, by all definitions, poetry. the fact that you don't like it does nothing to change that. I haven't read a single emily dickenson poem I liked but that doesn't mean anything.
imma post lyrics of a rap song by DZK called Bow Down
I keep seeing a repeating, scene in my dreams, I'm weeping peacefully, in a green pasture of sheep who breathe deeply, relaxed on the grass, asleep when I see these factions, of masked men, with axes, creepin
I can see, that we're captured, but when I scream, the assassins begin laughing, and the sheep don't even seem to gather the fact that their masters are grabbin and smashing their backs in in a graphic fashion and draggin the cadavers past em
the sadness from those savage actions I had to fathom never passes, even though, they were so overtly imagined they show, actual patterns of what can happen to those trapped in the rapture of the Holy Ghost if they don't open their lashes
and focus on what matters most... before they cash in choke and pass and go in a casket, or blow in the passing wind over the ocean as scattered ashes and bone fragments just hopin their pastor was accurate
[bow down and] - pray pray to your god [now, bow down and] -pray pray to your god
what kinda creator would make a race of people and make em act a certain way or else He deems 'em evil? HOW can You give a living being the freedom to breathe and then lead em into sea of decievers who greet em, see,
it's not a miracle, when you beat a disease [please] it's not a miracle, when you breed and receive a baby from a lady, it's nature, you can pray to a tree it don't mean the seasons are changing cuz you believe in the leaves
faith is a crazy made up way to explain, what you can't explain in way that you can't debate it, it's insane that we live in a nation, that's innovative enough to create a station in space but we still praise the pages of an ancient publication
considered great.... in the motherfuckin middles ages, I'm sick of the way this civilization blames their hatred on a simple fictional basis such as Satan it makes me sick to my stomach, it's just disgusting aint it?
[bow down and] - pray pray to your god [now, bow down and] -pray pray to your god
and I'm sick of censorship committees, grippin the dicks of Christian Ministries who are admittingly, just letting any priest get a piece, of greased little boy keester and get away free while they celebrate Easter... Jesus, it's un-fuckin-believable
that you people still worship invisible entities, I mean, who seriously wants to live for infinity? are you kidding me? if you guys wanna censor a bigger lie, try the validity of a city sittin in the sky, where everybody who died is now living
better yet, convince me that the visceral presence of an invincible peasant will some-how better my fuckin intelligence and gimme some evidence, heaven exists, besides some lessons written by guys who couldn't technically give any relevant tips
except that I should be a celibate twit who cries like a bitch to a timeless spirit everytime that I'm fearing some shit the entire idea of religion's been queer since it was twisted to it's limit, now it's a just mere hindrance
for me lyrics must be either amusing or just somehow fitting to the style of music. they're 99.9% bullshit anyways and just in the song because instrumental songs suck.

Game sucks. His whole album was nothing but hanging off of G-unit and Eminems dick. 300 bars was ok, but its nothing special, its just long as fuck.
Why would anyone vs cassidy? He's a fucking joke. I dont know one person that listens to him, other than the MTV crowd.
what the f*ck are you on? are you really that stupid? 50cents new cd was like a rock/punk record 2:30 songs rofl.. pathetic id be pissed buying that sh*t.. and lets see 50 put this many punches in a single song .. as soon as 50cent tops 300 bars in a song ill lay off em rofl.. he supposedly "murdered fat joe and jadakiss and took shots at nas" in his piggy bank song.. i saw like 1 hit per each rapper hes beefin with.. seriously wtf?
*btw* incase you didnt know cassidy's battled hella freestylers good cats and he recently retired from freestyling undefeated in his entire career.. so read up on it before you talk.. clown..
Someone forgot to take their meds eh? When did I say anything positive in regards to 50 cent's latest album? If you even bothered to pay attention to the posts in this thread you would see that I trashed it. And uhmmm piggy bank was whack. Grats on that conclusion, I figured that song would be included in the trash I called his latest album.
Where is Ja Rule now? Washed up. Why? Because 50 shattered his entire career, and the record label for that matter. If your basing 50's talent on 'The Massacre' your an idiot. Marketed for teeny bop suburbanites. 300 bars was 'OK'. Nothing fucking special about it. When you compare songs like that to Jay-Z / Beanie Siegel / Jada's diss tracks, its pretty fucking boring. Game is highly overrated. And yes his entire album is nothing but throwing names around, Young buck/Yayo/lloyd banks/ dre/ 50 / Eminem. THE ENTIRE FUCKING ALBUM.
Just because hes the shit in your perochial school doesnt mean hes the shit on the streets.
And as far as Cassidy is concerned, hes a fucking joke. I dont know where you get this undefeated freestyle shit from but hes from philly, notorious for terrible fucking rappers, and hes following in their footsteps damn well. His album is terrible, his lyrics are fucking garbage and he cant flow with the beat.
Next your gonna tell me Lil Bow Wow and Lil Romeo are the shit?
"instrumental songs suck"? So unless a song has lyrics written to it,itCANNOT POSSIBLY be a good song? Wow that is just plain stupid. Why even listen to music then? Why not just read the lyrics, or rap without music because the music without the lyrics sucks anyways;)

Ya that super hero song is ok, how many people have heard of him though? He doesnt do anything now adays anyway. Ryan Banks is good as well, but another underground rapper I doubt most people havent heard of. But for the most part Philly rappers suck, including Cassidy. Am I wrong?

my talk of game is strictly in comparison to 50cent and basically all of g-unit "Records" and im sure no one who really is "For the streets" spends there time writing a fucking novel on a website about who really can rap and who cant. but ive listened to lots of 50cents shit a couple songs stuck to me but the rest arent shit.. i used to listen to uh.. Guess Who's Back? or 50Cent Is The Future? or Power Of The Dollar? some of the shit when he was on columbia No Mercy, No Fear... there was some decent songs then i agree but since he got signed hes been putting out pop.. whatever sells i guess his problem is hes so concentrated on the green hes forgotten about what people wanna hear and "Street CreD" etc.. like people think Proof of G-Unit is lazy i was reading on a forum.. total idiots.. people say hes delaying his album "Searching For Jerry Garcia" as long as he did.. but proof was bangin out mixtapes after mixtapes while he was putting his album on hold because he knew it was gonna sell like 10 copies and the rest uploaded on the internet then downloaded to someones comp.. wheres the fucking motivation to pump out this CD and make 200 dollars off of it? anyways this isnt about proof hes just an example to my point... and Game has hotter shit than anyone on G-unit/Shady records.. that was my point.. not GAME IS RUNNING RAP.. cuz hes not.. but Game certainly tears the shit out of shady/g-unit
i also like how almost no one understood that 50 ATTEMPTED to smash Game back on Piggy Bank..
50 Cent - Piggy Bank
"Got A Hundred Guns a Hundred Clips? Why I Don't Hear No Shots?"
Game - New York, New York (Remix)
"I got a hundred guns and a hundred clips nigga im in New York! New York! Ride wit a hundred bloods and a hundred crips whenever im in New York! New York!"
later.. (End Of First Verse) >
"Drive Through The Bronx And Get Jada(Kiss) On The Phone My Next Stop is Yonkaz! After That Its Harlem.. Why? Cuz Im a Certified Gangsta And Jim Jones Throwin a Blood Party.. Red Bandana's From 93rd To 115th And Lenix.. Its The Sequel To "Menace" And Oh Lord! He Done Went O-Dawg! Made 50's Beef His And Knocked 'em Both Off!"
