Though for most of us, any regular consumption of ramen probably has more to do with "I'm ass-broke/I'm too lazy" rather than "I want a health conscious meal."

I actually do this sometimes and its quite tasty. Instant Ramen is my only dinner most of the time so I go all out when I make it. In a pot of boiling water, cook the noodles, some narutomaki (fish cakes),and some baby bok choys. Drain and put in a bowl. Boil new water in the same and add the flavor packets and additional seasonings if I feel like it. Pour it over the cooked noodles. Sometimes if I'm feeling fancy I'll add a hardboiled egg. My staple is SamYang. They used to make no-msg ramen but either but that was a lie or something because they stopped making no-msg versions. Nisssin Tokyo Shoyu is pretty good too and come with a packet of seaweed. Anything by Myojo is pretty good too but those are hard to come by.

potatoes. boil the potatoes in water beforehand for a while before adding all the regular ramen stuff to it. once the potatoes become "breaky and soft" it's amazing. eggs. definitely. after it's done. crack one in there and pour immediately into your bowl. bits of veggies. onion sprouts chopped up are nice. i always have veggie cravings when i eat something as carby and fatty like that. even bits of bok choy or spinach works too. u dont' truly taste it. onions. i'm a huge fan of onions. i eat them raw, and i think that's how they taste best really. putting them in the soup, at the very end can give a mixture of cooked and uncooked for those that also like them raw Mushrooms. not much to say here, except that the typical button mushrooms aren't the only mushrooms in the world. don't stir or separate the noddles while they are cooking! But i stopped eating ramen cz of Glutamate (MSG) and all the other badness of it.

I eat like that rarely. for some reason, it turns my face red when i eat the shin ramen powder raw (as soon as it goes in my mouth). any other ramen powder is fine.

In Singapore you can buy some snack called mamee noddle snack which is basically uncooked instant noodles. Cool found a link (with pics) about it. It's actually Malaysian. http://eatbma.blogspot.com/2006/02/mamee-monster-noodle-snack.html

Even without my awesome timing, it was the best ramen I've personally ever made. I knew I wanted ramen to go with the finals, so I went to the store to pick up a few packs of Sapporo Ichiban and other necessary ingredients. There was a good bit of leftover steak from dinner, so I sliced it nice and thin and soaked it in a mix of hot sauce for a few hours. Started the water, about 2.5 cups. Tapped in a good bit of hot sauce and then once it started to bubble a bit threw in all the meat, a full sliced jalapeno, and about 1/4 of a red onion. Once it started rapidly boiling, I poured in most of the flavoring packet and mixed it all nice and good, with some more hot sauce. I had the rest of my ingredients ready to the side, with the ramen rinsed and drying (I always rinse it these days - get a bit of extra salt off and soften them up a bit) and doused it in some hot sauce. Let the water boil for a second since I added so much extra water, and tossed it into the pot. Timer hit 2:10 and I threw in my cheese with more hot sauce. Then the egg at 1:10 with even more hot sauce. Heat goes off a second after the timer, and I'm placing the pot on a towel to watch some epic StarCraft.

![]() Its imo the best korean ramen. Its very spicy and delicious. Shin Ramen BO 1. Boil Water 2. Add Dried Vegies and Noodles and Sauce packets 3. (Optional) Add Seafood such as small clams, baby squid, and small crabs or add Dumpling and Rice Cakes 4. Add 1 egg per packet of Ramen, making sure to evenly distribute eggs throughout 5. Cut Green Onions and other doodads such as boiled pork, a hard boiled egg, or other garnishes! ![]() 6. Eat Noodles 7. Add Rice to left over soup 8. Finish Thats the Korean Way of Eating Ramen :D No Cheese or Ketchup or Whatever the fuck Also you should only eat ramen with Kimchi as a side. Kimchi is Ying, Ramen is Yang, without Kimchi you have no meal. EDIT: Also since this is an SC fansite, pronounce ramen like a Korean! "Ramen" is not Rah-Men, it is Rah-Myun!!!!

I prefer mama's due to its cheapness.
