Brick. This movie tries so hard to be serious, but my friends and I couldn't take it seriously and just laughed. However an English major I know thinks it's actually a great film. Trailer: + Show Spoiler +
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cVzHeJ0Z3I "No, bulls would gum it. They'd flash their dusty standards at the wide-eyes and probably find some yegg to pin, probably even the right one. But they'd trample the real tracks and scare the real players back into their holes, and if we're doing this I want the whole story. No cops, not for a bit."
I thought the movie was awesome. It definitely doesn't belong here by any stretch of the imagination. And serious is the last thing it tries to be.
Agreed. everyone should see this; A masterpiece of low (ish, $500,000) budget diy cinema. If you enjoyed this also check out 'You move, You Die!' (google it), a tongue-in-cheek Gangster/Action flick. Low on sets/budget (50,000 :O), high on script/humor/General badassery. Reminiscent of early Tarantino.
Edit Sorry for the off-topic, bit these films need all the exposure they can get
a recent one too. This shit was too hilarious, tried so hard to make some like epic beowulf tale like the odyssey then they go and do like half cartoons half people shit and give it 3D and a its just a mess.

This film wasn't bad enough to be good. It simply languishes in the realm of bad.

Another movie I would say doesn't belong here. It's a result of the director taking everything he learned in Equilibrium and stepping it up a notch. The cinematography/direction in UltraViolent are simply brilliant, it's like watching a work of art in motion, without burdening itself with a senseless plot. I don't get how Equilibrium could've get such a cult following while UltraViolet was shunned. Equilibrium is nothing but Ultraviolet fighting scenes done worse. If you think it features a plot worth discussion you must be not well read - it's not more then an exact clone of majority of 50s and 60s science fiction. Personally I prefer movies that don't pretend to be something they're not. If you can't make a plot worth of thought why have one at all? Although of course your perception on Equi might be quiet different if thats the first time youve seen that story. Obviously i cant put yourself in your shoes.
Really ? WoW i just thought that they made action scenes with the Half-Life 1 engine (And the movie isn't that old (i mean HL old)). I didn't even watch the entire movie. So maybe that's my bad. But in my opinion, this film was too hard to watch because it was REALLY bad. I dind't saw Equilibrium so i don't see why you're saying i have a perception on it (Or maybe you weren't writing to me. I'm not an english native).
Don't know how many times it's been mentioned (seen it a few already) but definitely The Room. That movie gets better and better (worse?) Every. Single. Time. The best to do is go to a midnight screening at the cinemas, it's even better.
