Please, bring back the "STOP HURTING ESPORTS" quote on the picture. I know people were complaining about it, but those people were stupid.

Don't cater to them! The new quote isn't nearly as good as the old one. =(

(I've got adblock disabled but for some reason I still see Elly 50% of the time.)

I used to adblock all sites until one of my favorite webcomics started struggling, and had to rely on more (obnoxious) advertisements on his site. The creator is going strong now, but it really surprised me how much advertising makes a difference.

All the sites I care about I disable, TL is one of them.

It's a small price to pay, so just fucking do it.
Your "principals" or excuses are another person/organization's income.

Actually considering the adds I'm starting to consider enabling adblock on TL, it's 90% lame dating ads currently, as much as I like TL I find this a bit too much.

i don't adblock anything – but i have a click2flash plugin that blocks any flash content until i explecitly allow it. ads yes, flash ads hell no.

I turned off adblock recently for teamliquid. But when I see Latina and Arab singles/dating ads I just turned it back on as images of either scantly clad latinas or smiling arabic girls aren't considered welcome in our community. And since I am browsing teamliquid a lot I am bound to be seen by my co-workers browsing through the forums and I don't want no dating ads on the page.

And for the record this happened on a PC I had just formatted and installed an OS on and have not signed into any google account on so don't give me your smart ass comments about browsing porn.

When I first arrived on TL, I was adblocking everything. After a month or so, I decided to disable adblock because I wanted to support TL, but last week change on the site made me adblock everything again. The new ad format is way too intrusive for me, especially when it's animated (!!), and there were also some ads on the right side that were disturbing my browsing.

During the course of last year, I bought three TL shirts, and will continue to support TL when possible (ie. I'll probably buy HoTS via TL) but I won't disable adblock again. I even blocked Hotbid's crying elephant.

Well I won't come down to such a level of discussion, but I have to say it makes me a bit wondering about TL to know that mods are actually acting like this.
Having said that, I don't see why making a subscription fee wouldn't be a respectable option to consider; I have seen many websites proposing this "ads vs fee" exchange, and it seemed to work for them. You should even make more money, which seems to be your goal here; as this fee would be nothing but an extra option.

You really need to read the 10 commandments to put the mods behavior in perspective. Their house, they are not gonna kick themselves out for being rude. You come to their house and be rude, then you arent welcome. Something like that.

He could be Bill Gates, I wouldn't care less. That does not justify anything, and I am surprised people think it might do so. The guy might be concerned with his business, fair enough; I just think there are other concerns to have when it comes to advertisment, which might be more important than his business; and which have to do with the place of advertisment in society in general.

I support TL by looking at ads I see on all other pages, so I am indifferent, they have no impact on me (except for the Assassins creed revalations trailer I have seen at least 1000 times on streams, gonna buy that shit for my 360)

So I started using Chrome recently and no matter what I do to disable adblock on TL I still get the elephant picture. I really don't want to turn it off all together though.

I turned on addblock for TL a few months a go because I didn't agree at all with the temp ban I got.
Thought it was a nice way too fight back.
I never even thought about it anymore, I guess I can turn it off again now >.>
