I know it's not fun as the child to get taken away - but this is beyond sickening. How is the dad not in prison? Sure, your children needs to learn what disciplin is - but spanking her? And not even that... Really beating her up with a sick belt. And he's not in anyway holding back. This is... Awww... I feel sooo bad for this family... Anything released from the family as a response to this? Would love to hear something from the daughter | ||

Eh, I've seen this too (from my own mother). Speaking from experience, the girls mother in the video was most likely trying to prevent the dad from hitting her without invoking his fury upon herself. That's why she tried to do the whole "I'm gonna give you one the right way" thing. She probably thought that if her daughter cooperated it would make the father stop beating her further. It never actually works, but it's the only way to really get through that sort of situation without further endangering anyone. | ||

Some wives live in fear for years, being abused but afraid to leave their husband, for many reasons including: severe emotional attachment, fear of losing financial stability, fear of what will happen to the child. She did leave him eventually, so it's obvious she knew something was wrong. | ||

I mean I understand two or three swipes on the but and it sometimes actually leads to a better behavior, I mean certainly if all you do is spoil your kid he/she is going to become a first class asshole that no one can stand in the future, so kids need to be spanked sometimes, but the spanks have to resemble the disobedience, like playing a game on the computer is not bad. I mean I can understand if she got few spanks if she played like 10 hours a day computer games every day, but I also feel there are better ways to parent your children. I mean you need to be more proactive in your kids life and use examples to teach them how something could be wrong for them, etc... | ||

Pretty much dead on, the woman in the video looked to me like she was trying to prevent it without getting beat herself, and there are so many examples of this. They live in so much fear they wont reveal it to anyone. Dont be harsh on her, unless its a lie. | ||

I can't imagine how long the girl had been abused for. kind of reminds me of my own dad when he would hit me (not hard) if he caught me playing games at night, I can still remember sometimes I couldn't stop my body shivering because I was just damn scared @@ | ||

You don't solve violence by violence, I think humanity has evolved that enough to know that! What needs to be done is the father needs to go to jail for abusing his daughter, especially on the fact the punishment was way too severe for the "problem", which in my book isn't even a problem. I think kids should be spanked and its the parents right, but beating her up is not the same. It was obvious this was way too severe. | ||

For sons, it could be acceptable as long as its within limits. I mean you shouldnt go buck wild on an 8 year old because he stole a dollar from your wallet to go play at the arcade or something. But the most important thing is to make sure they UNDERSTAND why and that you love them. Dont leave them with a fucking grudge or something. Personally, the few times i got my ass beat as a kid, my dad felt so bad that right afterwards he came with neosporin or something and talked to me about it. I could see that it hurt him more than me. Well.. since i was a immature kid, i would be thinking all sorts of evil shit, but after calming down a bit I could see that it was my fault. But even for us asians, it will probably stop with our generation. Times are changing and you dont really need to resort to physical punishment to get your point across. | ||
