We are extremely close to shutting down this thread for the same reasons the PUA thread was shut down. While some of the time this thread contains actual discussion with people asking help and people giving nice advice, it often gets derailed by rubbish that should not be here. The moderation team will be trying to steer this thread in a different direction from now on. Posts of the following nature are banned: 1) ANYTHING regarding PUA. If your post contains the words 'alpha' or 'beta' or anything of that sort please don't hit post. 2) Stupid brags. You can tell us about your nice success stories with someone, but posts such as 'lol 50 Tinder matches' are a no-no. 3) Any misogynistic bullshit, including discussion about rape culture. 4) One night stands and random sex. These are basically brags that invariably devolve into gender role discussions and misogynistic comments. Last chance, guys. This thread is for dating advice and sharing dating stories. While gender roles, sociocultural norms, and our biological imperative to reproduce are all tangentially related, these subjects are not the main purpose of the thread. Please AVOID these discussions. If you want to discuss them at length, go to PMs or start a blog. If you disagree with someone's ideologies, state that you disagree with them and why they won't work from a dating standpoint and move on. i guess not, but in sweden we use the word dating for the kind of meetings where you try to check if you fit with a girl, not being in a relationship. also, the only big relationship i was in was so long, so disastrous and destructive that i can hardly think about it without going into some vegetabilic state of drooling and chronic masturbation. can't talk about that mate | ||

WELL let's say this broad was very demanding in what went on during the date. I remember picking her up and parking the car about 3-4 blocks away from the river and she said "Why are we stopping here?! there is a parking garage near riverside-park!" My initial plan was to kind of set the mood, and walk through the more... historical part of my town, seeing as how this girl has only been in La Crosse for a couple months. So I thought I would teach her about the town and some of the interesting on-goings that have happened in the past 200 years. But sadly, It was more of just a 5 minute walk along the river with her scoffing and complaining about how cold she is when SHE IS WEARING MY JACKET, during the whole walk. Oh it's fine, you know? It's 45 degrees and I'm in a t-shirt, and you're in a dress and I gave you my jacket cause you didn't think it would be that cold! The coffee shop was the worst part of the evening. She kept wearing my favorite jacket, even in the coffee shop and you know what she does? she spills coffee on my jacket. One of the reasons why the relationship between me and this girl didn't work out, is that to be frank, she's a dunce; not very smart, not very observant-- So she takes my jacket off and sets it on the table in the booth and while she does so she knocks over my coffee, and spilling it onto the jacket. I kept smiling, even as she was saying "oh god damn it." and didn't even apologize for spilling my coffee! Or for spilling my coffee onto my jacket! But whatever, there was still one more part of the evening left, the local music club. So as I learned that night, girls can find the smallest things to complain about, when it comes to music "it's too loud!" "why are all of these idiots here, and have gauged ears?" "this music sucks" "when's the next act?" You may think that this went on across a mild amount of time, but no, every 30 seconds, some complaint to where I couldn't even enjoy music "ugh, that chick with the mohawk needs a nose job." I'm a patient guy, but it just started widdling away at me until I said, "I'm feeling tired... I should take you home." So i'm interested, what's the worst date, or relationship you've been in? Bolded part is your problem. When looking to date just to date most girls tend to go for the asshole type. When I was in high school, my best friend was about the hottest girl in the school and I was always stuck in the friend zone. I was stuck watching her go out with dick head after dick head who treated her like crap then was forced to listen as she complained about them. She would always say stuff like "I wish I could find someone like you," or some such bs. After high school I stopped being nice to her as I had a little bit of a grudge. The result? She came on to me pretty hard. I acted like I wasn't interested. We've now been married for nearly four years. | ||

She was crazy though. Frankly I didn't care about her that much (I had reasons for being with her lawl) but my ego couldn't take it. Anyway, that lasted like 6 months and it sucked. She was even more shallow and dumb than I was at that time and she was 2 years older than me. | ||

Anyways, I had a problem with being too worried to ask girls out or anything, so what I did was make a list of all the things I should do to be a better person (one of which was stop worrying about stuff). I find that when things are in writing, it's a lot harder to go back on them. | ||

She sounded really odd and slow but i was drunk and hungry for burgers, so i disregarded that. A few days later i was actually going to apologize but she didnt answer, since she tried to commit suicide that evening and was in hospital for a week, and then the psychological emergency ward for another week. i saw her last week, now she's a hipster. OH WAIT we were supposed to be nice guys in here, talking about bitchy girls? sry about that gais! LOL most random story here | ||

I'm American and she is Chinese which isn't a problem because my Chinese was good enough to speak with her and her English was good enough to fill in the gaps. Well dinner went great and the food was awesome! (Did I mention I live in China?) I paid the bill and we went for a walk together. We walked and walked and walked and it was a great time all the while she was laughing at my ridiculous jokes and things were going smoothly. We're on our way back to her place so I can drop her off (like gentlemen are supposed to!) and she steps right onto a piece of broken glass.... All of a sudden, blood is GUSHING out of her foot and I'm asking bystanders to help us out with tissues they have and where the nearest hospital is. They tell us where the nearest hospital is and I hail the first cab I see and I throw her in with the blood flowing. We get to the hospital in just a few minutes and we dash into the "emergency" room (slow as hell!) and she gets seen by a doctor who treats it pretty well but she doesn't opt for stitches. I'm no doctor but holy hell did she need stitches haha. Well I was with her at the hospital for 2 hours then we caught a cab home and I had to practically carry her up the stairs to her apartment and got her in her room safely and got her some water and food to eat since she lost so much blood and she gives me a goodnight kiss and I'm out the door. On my way home I was in disbelief about what had happened and decided the night was still young enough to drink myself silly and have a good laugh about it. The next day I asked her about her foot and she said it was doing well and was thankful for my help. Later that evening, I was in the middle of a game of SCII and she called me at 1am. Well of course I couldn't answer! I was in the middle of a VERY important game as a Protoss against a Terran and if I made the tiniest mistake, my immortals would be attacking marines right?! So after the game I send her a text to see what's up. She immediately texts me back and says "Thank you so much for helping me the other night, I just wanted to hear the sound of your voice before I went to sleep" ..... ........... .............................................wtf........... It had been a day after a first date and she wanted to hear the sound of my voice before she went to sleep? Haven't talked to her since. | ||

It was the second time we met up and we wanted to go to the cinema and watch an animation movie with lots of laughs and stuff like that but for some reason she misread the programme because the movie was still one week away from starting, so she said "ok that's my bad... you can choose the movie we go in now!" And I choose The Mechanic with Jason Statham which wasn't the best choice for a date as you might imagine and there is this scene in the movie where he goes into a bar and immediately a nice girl starts flirting with him and after a short dance they go to her and fuck around and next morning he watches football on tv with this girl in his arms and she asks "Should I go and make you a sandwich?" (That already made me laugh.) and then I asked her if she will also make me a sandwich later on. She laughed a bit but I never saw her again LOL | ||
