We are extremely close to shutting down this thread for the same reasons the PUA thread was shut down. While some of the time this thread contains actual discussion with people asking help and people giving nice advice, it often gets derailed by rubbish that should not be here. The moderation team will be trying to steer this thread in a different direction from now on.

Posts of the following nature are banned:
1) ANYTHING regarding PUA. If your post contains the words 'alpha' or 'beta' or anything of that sort please don't hit post.
2) Stupid brags. You can tell us about your nice success stories with someone, but posts such as 'lol 50 Tinder matches' are a no-no.
3) Any misogynistic bullshit, including discussion about rape culture.
4) One night stands and random sex. These are basically brags that invariably devolve into gender role discussions and misogynistic comments.

Also today's date - go to a transport hub, flip a coin to decide if we're taking the bus or train, and then travel to a random town or village 25-30 minutes from there, enjoying the local food/nature/awesomeness/shittyness. I've done that on my own before but should be an okay date idea too?

On a serious note, personally I like to keep things simple at the first date. Go out for a walk with my (her) dog, have a drink, maybe visit some local events. Sth like that, nothing special, nothing too fancy. Have little chat and see where things are going...
I actually do like your idea though, although I feel like it could be a little "too much".

Trains can cover a fair distance in half an hour. If you live in Europe that often can bring you into another country. In Canada/the US not so much.

you go to a train station at the outskirts of a city
and 30 minutes is basically 20-40 kilometers - that's a lot of random villages and towns to cover.

We've traveled to a 40km distant 19k people small town, saw bears, went to the top of a very unsafe lookout so lost some of my manliness being scared more than her and all, had food, went to bio cafe fore dessert and went to a local shithole pub where for whisky where we got invited to play dice, had a very gay bartender, some drunk assumed I'm his best friend and everyone stared at us blatantly - overall I'd recommend this for sure, but probably for a 4th date+. When e.g. the lights go out on a train and you find yourself in a dodgy town you know it's better with someone you can trust.
