We are extremely close to shutting down this thread for the same reasons the PUA thread was shut down. While some of the time this thread contains actual discussion with people asking help and people giving nice advice, it often gets derailed by rubbish that should not be here. The moderation team will be trying to steer this thread in a different direction from now on.
Posts of the following nature are banned:
1) ANYTHING regarding PUA. If your post contains the words 'alpha' or 'beta' or anything of that sort please don't hit post.
2) Stupid brags. You can tell us about your nice success stories with someone, but posts such as 'lol 50 Tinder matches' are a no-no.
3) Any misogynistic bullshit, including discussion about rape culture.
4) One night stands and random sex. These are basically brags that invariably devolve into gender role discussions and misogynistic comments.

Damn I would love for something like that to happen to me. Couple years ago broke up with my gf of 5 years, pretty traumatized since that. Yep pretty boring life, wake up go to work go home video games n sleep same shit for the past forever. Can't drink or do drugs anymore so meeting people that way is out the window. Even when I do meet a women I can't talk to them more than hi and..... Then I don't know what to say... Lawl. Luck with dating? More like bad luck with dating.

Disclaimer: Before anyone goes apeshit over the following paragraph, note that I speak from first-hand experience regarding what I'm about to say.
That's how most guys get girlfriends. They just date the first girl they get along with and is okay with going out, and their poor emotional state before that make them feel okay with any such first girl, creating a strong superficial happiness. They're not happy with who is their girlfriend (as much as they like to think as such), but just that they have a gf. The placebo effect is very fascinating. They take whatever they can get. As pathetic as a guy reflecting this description sounds, it describes most guys out there. Hell, I even had a relationship or two like that.
As for me, I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum since my last break up as far as serious dating goes.

Well, considering how guys are, I always have the feeling that any half decent girl shouldn't need a dating site. So my guess usually is that the normal ones on those kind of sites are rare, and that there is something wrong with the vast majority of them.
I have however, heard good things about hook up sites. There is this website in my country (forgot the name) that people use for getting in touch for having affairs lol. One of my friends is an avid (and according to him succesful) user, and once even found his boss's girlfriend on there haha..

I don't think you should count dating sites man, they're all bullshit.
Sometimes you do see people hook up online, mostly it's over games like WoW or something I hear. Personally I know a couple that met online over a forum that I go to, I think ~2 years later the guy moved from south america to england to wife up the lady. They do look rather cute together. :D There's been a couple others, some fell through and some still go strong.
But yeah, if you want to do online dating, for the love of god don't do dating sites, ironically. Probably the same way meeting people irl works, go join something that interests you and see who you meet that's datable.
