I like FiWi's explanation regarding morality and subjective issues, and I'd also add that sometimes it's fun to intellectually spar with someone and work on how to argue. Especially in court or in front of a large audience, the objective may not to be factually correct, but be the most convincing. That includes flustering your opponent or implementing some cleverness (which, under normal circumstances, would be intellectually dishonest, like logical fallacies or playing off semantics). Think debate team stuff, where you're given a side to argue, and you argue it... period. I think this is why I like working or hanging out with fewer people... I really like the factual truth, and it's so frustrating when someone argues something that is just wrong but you have no way to convince the rest otherwise. Very good real life skills to have though, and I agree with your sentiment as well, although I think on a forum where people have days to construct replies if they wish to attack your argument, is not nearly as effective over other avenues of practice. What's the overlap on people who don't believe in gay marriage and people who don't believe in evolution?
If you are referring to my previous post, I did state, "use science to argue evolution". It's not a moral issue when using science to argue it. Without having done research, it is not possible to argue things that deal with this kind of knowledge. Arguing moral issues can have many correct answers.
Gay marriage is a moral debate, evolution is less so a moral debate, but we can't prove it 100% since we can't explain how did all this mass get here and blah blah, but arguing evolution with science is not an opinion, it's a fact, and if the other side has no well documented research to back up their claim, they can't make a valid argument from a scientific standpoint.

You conveniently didn't answer my question.

I'd expect anti-gay groups to largely be extremely religious and/ or extremely socially conservative, and those who don't believe in evolution to be extremely religious... so probably just religious fundamentalists?

I thought you were commenting on something I said. I never made any comparisons to someone who believes in gay marriage vs someone who believes in evolution.
Anyway, I think we should avoid this discussion.

If someone doesn't believe in evolution do you still give full faith and credit to other beliefs that they have about things?

i want to put a flash drive inside a bottle ala "message in a bottle" style, digital version.
question: will the flash drive still be working for a long time considering no water will get inside?

i'm asking about the proper spelling; and this is the stupid questions thread; it came up on a chat recently, and we weren't sure which one was proper; my recollection is that while ph34r is the standard letter conversion rule, it's more commonly written as ph33r due to phonetics or other reasons; so I wanted to ask other people what they know.

question: will the flash drive still be working for a long time considering no water will get inside? I would recommend dehumidifying the air you put in the bottle. When it's cold, the air in the bottle with condense and water droplets will form on the surface.
Either that or put the USB stick in a vacuum bag in a bottle.
