My parents need to give me a break once in a while. It's just been non-stop lately. Apparently nothing I do is good enough anymore. Didn't have a job? That's not right, I should be working while already not having enough time to do my schoolwork. So I got a job. Now apparently that job isn't good enough for them so they keep giving me crap and telling me to get a "real" job, despite the fact that I've told them multiple times that I'm not going to sacrifice a job I genuinely enjoy and have fun at to get a job that I hate that will pay a tiny bit more but have magnitudes more stress and frustration involved (at my current job I've only gone home in a bad mood maybe a couple times in total ever in over 3 years at it. I'm incredibly close with a lot of my coworkers, even to the point of going to weddings and doing stuff outside of work. I would describe my job as the work equivalent of Cheers. Everyone knows everyone). But apparently, my happiness isn't as important as making as much money as my brother, who makes a lot of money but is basically always miserable, or dad, who makes even more money and seems even more miserable and stressed out all the time (he's one of those people who takes his job way too seriously and basically lives to work. He RDPs into his work computer in the evening most days and keeps working at home).

Same thing with my car. Apparently my current car isn't good enough and they don't think it's safe (It's got 5 star safety ratings all around and is still considered a very safe car to this day, even though it's 15 years old) so I should get a new one. But then every time I bring up getting a different one (which I've been actually wanting to do for a while and have saved up a down payment for. I want to get either a new car at year end clearance or a late model used car), they give me crap about it and say it's a waste of money or want me to get a different car than what I want (they want me to get a super cheap one. If I'm gonna be spending money on a car I want to get a good one that won't depreciate like crazy, not a cheap sub-compact that will be worth half its original value in 2 years. I found a car I could get new that I like very much that is only marginally more money than the one they want, but will actually keeps its value, has better fuel economy, is better equipped, and has a better engine) or that I will never be able to get a loan myself because I have bad credit (which is blatantly wrong because I am very careful with my finances and have been working diligently to build credit for 5 years now. They happily co-signed for my brother when he was my age even though he was hopping jobs constantly and was perpetually broke because he spent all his money on booze and drugs) and they won't co-sign for a car unless it is one of the ones they approve of (again, crappy subcompacts). Luckily, I pulled my Equifax credit report and credit score and my score is just shy of 800, so I should be just fine for a loan. But I know that if I bring home a new car I will get non-stop crap about it.

It just honestly feels like they don't respect me or take me seriously. They still treat me like I'm a teenager or that I'm naive about everything and don't know what I'm doing or talking about. On this car loan thing they keep implying I have no idea how it works despite me researching it all for a few weeks. Heck, my dad does finance stuff for a living and he struggles to explain it so I think their criticism is probably not warranted. Given the number of botched home repairs lately that my dad's been doing that I've fixed, he can't be one to talk about not finding out how things work and doing them properly. They also just seem to have this need to be on my case non-stop. I got home from work today, and made a bowl of soup and before I had even finished my soup they had already gave me crap for not doing my dishes, because apparently I'm supposed to do my dishes rather than eat my food while it's hot. Just stuff like that. Little things but tons of them, and it's really starting to add up. They never used to be like this.

Sorry, that was long and probably boring. I just had to put that in words somewhere. Felt kinda good.

select trans_out_xml from outward_transactions where transaction_id = "some id" -> copy the outward xml file into altova xml spy -> check if the specified field is actually in the xml file. Significantly less than 2 fucking minutes and it makes sure I don't have to double check the words coming out of that big hole on the face of that BITCH.
