I am not allowed to be fans of players anymore. All that happens is I get fucking mad when they lose and say stupid shit. Also Protoss is fucking bullshit and it's amazing to watch them all whine in LotV when they actually have to fucking think now and take even mild risks

FUCK THIS FUCKING GAME I thought I could handle losing, but I'm really hyper competitive and losing really just pisses me off to a biblical level. I very rarely get angry, but starcraft sends me to the fucking edge. For my own personal health, I uninstalled. Fuck this piece of shit. Edit: For context, I quit a couple years ago because of anger issues, and came back about a week ago. I should never fucking play this game ever again.

YOU STUPID IDIOTS, STOP THIS GOD DAMN MADNESS!!! There is currently a protest in Montreal, a female-only protest against the patriarchy, austerity (which hurts women more than men, supposedly), and all manner of other stuff. It would be fine, but they don't want men marching with them, they've refused to speak with male police officers, they've refused to talk to male journalists. If you know anything about anything, you'll see that such policies are incredibly counter productive, if not outright damaging to the cause of women. How can you ask to be included, if you'll disrespect and exclude and entire gender yourself? By doing this, these women are undermining feminism. So considering that this kind of protest will get NO sympathy from the population whatsoever and will not advance their cause in the slightest, what the fuck are they trying to accomplish? It's fairly evident, it seems to me, like at the very least the leaders of this protest don't want equality - they're just expressing their hatred. And frankly yelling at police officers "we won't let men tell us what to do" is the most childish fucking way to try to make a point I've ever heard in my life. Shame on those people.

Shame on those people. + Show Spoiler + Sounds like a mirror of what woman have faced and currently face. I'd guess that's the point. To hold up a mirror and show society how women have been/get treated every day. You can find male versions of all that behavior being tolerated or even encouraged all over the world, even Canada. All that anger, frustration, etc... you and other men feel is what woman feel pretty regularly when they are excluded, objectified, marginalized, etc... As angry as you are about them you should be about the men who do the same, in fact you should be more angry because the system is set up to perpetuate it in many ways. Whereas the women are participating in a temporary demonstration. But I sympathize with the emotion in general and in reality people who do that type of stuff rarely think about the part of explaining why it's being done the way (even if some original orchestrator did).

But I sympathize with the emotion in general and in reality people who do that type of stuff rarely think about the part of explaining why it's being done the way (even if some original orchestrator did). + Show Spoiler + If they bothered to say that this was the concept I'd understand it, and I understand their plea, but as you point out, they should explain it because people won't decipher it, especially since the "mirror" is pretty fucking weak. Women are being marginalized, which is fair, they're trying to display that by excluding men from the protest. Except most people don't make that link. Moreover, they can reasonably assume that it's a coincidence. As for how I should be angry about "men who do the same" and the system, I am angry already, which doesn't prevent some of these women from treating me as if I am part of the problem. We can guess in good faith that they were indeed trying to mirror the oppression that they live, but we should accept that perhaps that's not the case. You've aptly pointed out that they rarely think about explaining why it's done that way - they haven't explained it this time either. But some feminist groups have said before, and this is not a rare argument, that men cannot be feminists, or that men cannot take part in the fight for equality (or sometimes, against the patriarchy). The idea is that men should not take feminism away from women and take point about that once again, or whatever. It is therefore also possible that the motivation was not to loosely mimic the oppression that women face, but rather, the motivation was just exclude men and show that women don't need men to get these things done. Indeed, it is not uncommon for radical feminists to denounce men who want to take part in the fight, because they find it patronizing or something, as if men's participation means that we think women can't do it by themselves (which is ridiculous because social change requires the participation of everybody). So which one is it? Well, they probably won't say, and we probably won't know. Yet, criticism of the female-only rule was criticized on social media, and the criticism was not met with explanations, but with anger and insults, sometimes toward the person who commented, but sometimes against all men or against the patriarchy. We could argue about this, but I'm not pissed because just how stupid I think it all is. I'm fucking pissed because like I said, this is counter productive. Bullshit is bullshit, but these half-assed protests have consequences in the real world. Strategically speaking, unless they have a good reason for excluding men, they're just making sure no one will take them seriously. And no one does, right now. It's viewed as a protest of radical feminists out to cause trouble. They're viewed as a big joke, and tomorrow on the radio we'll have feminists talking about how this is the wrong way to go. (To be fair, they do the same thing when students strike, but the difference is that it's people of a different ideology with different interests who criticize them, whereas these radical feminists with nonsensical protests are criticized by prominent feminists.)

lol the first thing I expected when I saw the "last reply by DjZapz" was going to be something about feminists and lo and behold. but seriously,I do not understand all this triggered reaction to a fringed group of feminists (inb4 they represent what all of feminism is) it is not like they have the power to influence the entire image and direction of the protests like the Black Bloc.

Your use of "triggered reaction" offends me ![]() And you correctly state that they don't have the power to influence the direction of the protests (which is irrelevant), and they don't have the power to influence policies either. Indeed, groups like these do not play much of a role in creating new policies which favor gender equality. The only influence they have is to the eyes of the people who read the news and read about these protests which exclude men, it plants a seed in people's minds that says feminists are radicals and are bad, which is not the case but that's how people think. In the microcosm of Montreal these protests have repercussions. Now I don't think it's a huge deal, I have strong opinions sometimes and I vented. I have the feeling from your tone that you think I'm being unreasonable, but I don't think I really was. I just think these kinds of things are counter productive, and being counter productive in such important issues is a damn shame. And I assure you you don't need to have worked in PR for a politician like I have to understand that the strategy they've used, without an explanation, is bad. Going to hit the sack, cheers ![]() Edit: Oh I was a lot more pissed off than now when I saw the video of the black man being essentially executed by a police officer (well, the most recent one...). I just didn't happen to feel like writing at the time.
