Its not that simple.
You cannot expect that wast majority of people in one country/culture to accept changing something that has been written in stone for centuries.It takes time for changes to happen.
Its ethically wrong to influence ones culture/religion/beliefs just because you dont think they are in right.Those influences only work if they are indirect (one culture changes when in touch with other cultures),otherwise forced influences from outside could make things even worse and have contra effect so bad it can lead to violence.
At least some small progress has been made,no death sentence.
