That was one of the coolest videos I've ever seen. Parts of it make me wonder if it's even real, but it is amazing either way.

Once I really understood what this was and the angle from which I'm looking (tooltip thing) this became amazing. It's our galaxy from the point of view of our solar system.

These pictures are all taken when the earth is facing away from the sun. So its not really as if you were viewing from the earths perspective. What he could of done is take a picture everyday for a year and then maybe have a sorta accurate view.
edit; actually I dont understand why he had to travel at all to do this. If you could take 2 pictures (to get a view from top to bottom) on the same longitude every night for a year you would get an accurate result.
I don't think he wanted "sorta accurate" though. This man wanted to make a display of space, without the perspective distortions that we get from simply looking up at the sky every day.

Some of it looks so amazing that you cant imagine it being real, but i do believe its all real, just timelapsed which sure makes for some neat effects.
