Note: a number of sources are saying that Beast Master Casey has been suspended for 4 days and that the rat boy was suspended for 21. Look around for more sources please. |

Anti-bullying
We work hard to keep our school free from bullying and harassment. Our anti-bullying plan outlines strategies for parents, students and teachers to identify, report and deal with bullying behaviour. Any victim or witness of bullying behaviour should report the incident to a teacher or the principal.
So yea, if a school has such a good anti-bullying system, how come the bullying gets to a point where kids feel comfortable with filming their torturing of others? Just hiding behind words.
And I agree that Casey should not have been suspended. If you knock someone out who's threatening you with a weapon, you don't go to jail for assault and battery, it's self defense. If anyone deserves a reprimand, it's the school staff for turning a blind eye to the issues and letting it go that far. And I'm not only talking about the school in question, but in general.

You take hits to accumulate on your ultimate bar and release a motherfucking combo to one-hit KO your opponent.

Anyone who even implies Casey is in any way at fault has obviously never been bullied. Casey had the right to defend hiimself, and uphold his self-respect and dignity. More power to you Casey, I hope to don't let people like this affect your self esteem moving forward. Casey should be proud of himself.

These kids are no more than 12 years old? Anyone criticising Casey for his force obviously doesn't understand kids at that age. Casey had every right to defend himself and his dignity. Furthermore, he did it just right - one slam and didn't strike the kid while he lay on the ground. Enough to send the message to leave him alone.
The school suspended him to preserve their reputation (i.e. to show they are doing something) - but they are at fault. How did it get to such a stage that kids could just film themselves bullying someone?

Hopefully the info about 4 days suspension for violence and 21 days suspension for bullying is correct.
Violence isn't good, but that little fucker had it coming.

Down with the bullies and the Up with the brave, although he nearly broke the kids neck >_<

-_-
So like, the fat kid was justified in trying to kill the little kid but seriously.
If it had been happening for a while, there are a fucking billion things he could have done.
I'm so anti violence that this video breaks my little heart </3

I don't think anything but violence would've stopped the bullying.

Cant just hit people or do what he did and expect that everyone cheers for you. Its still battering and its not what you should do there.
He could have killed him there. Ok he was pretty raged over the constant bullying, but what he did is just as bad, if not worse.
The thing I 'liked' was how he took the hit to the face there and didnt budge. That I applaud, but the rest... no. bad

Casey was justified. How can you disagree? The school wasn't doing anything. The school obviously wasn't doing anything. He had no choice. It's not Casey's fault that that's what he had to resort to. If you watch the video, you can tell that he didn't want to hurt the kid; he took several punches and kicks before he even moved. Casey should be the last person to have blame pointed at him. First and foremost the school for letting this go on, and obviously the bully, but for people pointing the blame at Casey, i have no clue what you're thinking.

I'm not against Casey fighting back, but using that dangerous move, it's fucked up in my opinion.

Like what? How else could you deal with it? Allegedly this went on for years, and the school did nothing. I'd be really interested to know how you'd diffuse this situation. Mind you these are what, twelve year old kids?

The thing I 'liked' was how he took the hit to the face there and didnt budge. That I applaud, but the rest... no. bad In a perfect world, that's a valid procedure, let the authority/system apply the rules eveybody has agreed upon in order to preserve some kind of order. But in the real world this doesn't go so well.
The system keeps failing in that regard, a fuck ton of women die killed by her husband, there's kids suiciding due to bullying and such, so while you're solution is awesome in a perfect world, this ain't a perfect world.
Now I agree Casey should get some kind of "punishment" so he keeps in mind to use violence as a LAST resort, but it's an option non the less.

If he talked to his school and parents and this shit continued he should've taken it to a higher authority.

Exactly to what higher authority other than school and parents would you expect a 12 year old kid to appeal to? The Police? The president of Australia? Oprah?
This kid doesn't appear to be vile or vengeful at all, but rather scared and seems to use his strength really as a last resort (after taking two punches to the face and some jabs to the stomach).
That being said the bully is a kid too and cannot take full responsability for his actions either. If this really got on for two years, the school and the parents (of both kids) have failed imo.

I have to disagree with the posters here who say that violence was not the answer in this situation. Coming from someone who was bullied growing up, I had to learn to fend for myself; it wasn't like someone would always be there to fend for me.
Some would argue that you can go to your guidance counselor or your teacher, but this isn't always the case. I agree that this should be the first step, but kids don't tend to think that going to the authorities will work for them. When I was in school, if you tattled or went to the authorities to intervene on a situation, it only compounded your problems as you would then get a worse reputation, often resulting in further bullying or being ostracized. This is why I understand why some kids choose not to tell school staff.
Did the parents do anything to stop this? I'm sorry if it was already mentioned in the 43 pages of responses, but not all parents go out of their way to protect their children or stop their children from becoming class-A jerks.
In conclusion, I don't think the kid over-reacted. He did what I used to do to bullies, and that was stop them in their tracks and scare them into never bullying me again. Casey chose to body slam that scrawny punk, while I, being smaller in stature at the time and underweight, chose to use simple chokes on the bullies or to strike them with nearby objects (I had really strong forearm muscles from drumming). Of course both techniques sound barbaric, but it's self-defense for someone who doesn't have the size or numbers advantage.

All i have to say is:
HELL YEAH! LOVED IT!
Man i had a regular childhood, was kinda popular and never had much problems in school, but i really liked to see the fat kid punching this stupid little kid because bullying is lame
