Note: a number of sources are saying that Beast Master Casey has been suspended for 4 days and that the rat boy was suspended for 21. Look around for more sources please.

Completely necessary imo, that little punk needs to realize you can't just do that to another human-being and expect no consequences, I just hope that the group of kids stop bullying him and learn their lesson.

Casey should have got a warning and a /slap on the wrist/ while the 'main' bully got what he deserved (a possibly broken ankle and a suspension?) the cameraman and the kid that yelled out "fat cunt" just before the slam should have been suspended as well as anyone else that was behind the camera, also a stern warning to the girls that were egging on the bullying.

That Casey got suspended for a few days seems to be right in my opinion. Not because it was totally wrong what he did, but as a school, you just can't tolerate such violence. Also it might be better for Casey to get some days distance, so the supsension could be some form to protect him as well.

This, of course, only stands if the bully as reported got suspended (way longer) as well. Would be interesting to know if the other bullies, i.e. the ones behind the camera got suspended, too. In fact they DO NEED to get suspended. Maybe not as long as the fuckin' rat that got slamed, but at least longer than Casey. The girls should get at least a warning or even a suspension if they not only watched but cheered as well.

Overall, we obviously don't have a winner here. It sure would be better if the authorities would have acted at all before the event, so it wouldn't have happened in the first place. Still, because they didn't do anything, you can't blame Casey for how he acted. You actually could congratulate him for finally standing up. And since talking wouldn't have helped (as you can see, Casey didn't wanted to fight) he did the only thing possible.

The only positive thing out of this event should be that Casey (hopefully) doesn't get bullied anymore, that the school think about / rework their anti-bullying system and that future events like that can be avoided.

I'm not saying that the kid deserved to be slammed like that, but if you stick your head in a lions mouth what do you expect.

I support casey, but i cant help thinking that a LOT more people would be condemning him if the kid got killed/very seriously injured despite the bullying

Bullshit. Bullying exists in every country.

Oh wait you're a troll.

I'm not a troll. And this isn't bullshit either. I teach kids age 11 to 18, I think I'd know about it.
What I'm saying is what seems to be a very, very rare occurrence in France seems to be the common standard in the US.
That's all.

If you're gonna see anti-americanism in that, then you're a lost cause.

I created an account especially for the above idiot(s in France who make absurd claims).
I don't know where you grew up in France, but bullying is pretty much standard operating procedure everywhere. That also means in France, even though perhaps you'd like to think it doesn't happen.

Quotes from investigative reports aired prime-time on French national (!) television (and in France most people don't receive more then a couple of channels on their tv's unless they pay a premium);
"Bullying at school remains an underestimated phenomenon in France."
"The most difficult for the bullied child: that even the adults don't believe him when he says he is being bullied: "The teacher tells me I should have a better sense of humor."
"In France's national education there isn't any attention for the problem of bullying."

You were saying you were a teacher, eh?

Fairly sure I read a reply with a link wich estimated that 13% of french children had been bullied on several ocassions.
Where I grew up, we were on average 20 students per class, so that would make it just over 2 students per class that is bullied, wich sounds about right from my experience.

And I dunno how many times I heard the expression "Den som ger sig in i leken får leken tåla" (rough tl: if you play the game, expect consequenses) from teachers. Funny how there was a "game" called "beat up around the school", where a bunch of people would hold 1 person down, and another beat him up. And since it was a "game" it was all fun and games in the teachers eyes.

And amongst the more annoying parts was the bully theme week, where teachers talk about bullying, how to spot it, and how the worst bullies are "the gray masses" wich just ignores the one getting bullied...

Hello, hello.
I'm French and I have some link with the education (not a teacher yet, but something like it too boring to explain).

I think there is a lot A LOT of violence at school in France, but it's not this way. It's more a question of bands / thief / random agressions and overall violent atmosphere / clash with the teachers. What I mean is, I have never heard / see a young student being constantly bullied by a band throughout the entire years at school (it's more like almost everybody can be the bully and the bullied at some point).

I support Casey. Though in the long run, it would be appropriate to suspend him for a day or better yet, get him some counseling. The school needs to give a shit for the kid's well-being rather than just punish him and let him believe violence is the way to fight back. He needs to know how to solve these problems without violence in the future.

People keep saying "fighting back was OK but he was too violent! He took it too far!"

What is it exactly that you see him do? Does it look like he is executing his expert head-smash technique that he has developed in order to inflict maximum damage? What I see is a big, strong kid who has never been in a fight in his life just doing whatever he can. He doesn't know how to fight, he's probably never actually full-on punched somebody before with true intent to cause harm (unlike the little rat-boy). He's a big giant who doesn't know his own strength and he just kind of grabs the kid, lifts and throws. I don't think he could have put that kid on his head if he had planned it.

What exactly do you all think he should do? Parry punches until a teachers shows up? Double-leg takedown into side-mount then take the kids back and restrain him until he calms down? Go get some basic experience in combat sports - your high school wrestling team, for example, if you are in high school - and you will very quickly find out that the learning curve for any kind of grappling or striking is incredibly steep and that most of the general public - even guys who think they're tough and can fight - don't have the slightest idea of how to effectively assert control over another person. I mean, he's just a kid, he's not fucking Walker Texas Ranger. Jeez.
And isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean, all you get is one trick: rational thinking; but, when you're good and crazy, ooohoohoohoohoooo, the sky is the limit!

After seeing this longer version, I'm much more on the side of the bullied kid. Good for him. It's too bad that the smaller kid didn't break something. He'd have learned more from 2 broken legs than a 21 day vacation.

there should be no slap on the wrist for Casey his punishment is justified... yes the little brat deserved every second of air time watching the ground come closer and closer till his face smashed into the ground... not in disagreement with that. the thing is without a punishment the school losses face as well as has a real possibility of being Sued.

I was bullied from grade 5 thru till 10th grade. when i was about 3 months into my semester i finally had enough of the 4 punks that were bullying me for years. one day they grabbed my backpack and pulled me to the ground and started kicking me in the stomach. i got up a few seconds later when they stopped promptly grabbed the closest kid and threw him about 5 feet into a metal door breaking the kids arm and nose. I was expelled for this and the other kids were not. i finished out my schooling at a different public school and had no issues as the story made its way to that school. my point is you need to be punished if you do something bad whether it is justified or not. i came out a better person by being punished and forced to move to another school, had i not have been punished i probably would have gotten into another fight and harmed more people intentional or not.

lol iono why u guys feel bad for the kid

i mean, let's look at a checklist shall we?

[x] 4 days of break from school (i.e fuck yea PlayStation, Pokemon)
[x] No more bullies from now on
[x] Possibility of becoming a badass baller at school (i.e chicks)
[x] Internet hero

he couldn't have asked for more

Well said.
Also I agree with the majority of posters here - you can't really justify the toothpick since he had it coming. Beastmaster literally did nothing against the first few punches but only later snapped.
Also if you taunt someone 2.5 times your size you kinda have it coming.

Just watched the video, good for Casey! He stuck up for himself finally at the end, and that little s*** got his comeuppance. I only wish he had managed to do even more damage to that spineless bully than he did, and his coward mates that stood by, recorded it and cheered on the bully.

Go Casey!

I'm sure his parents have seen the video... Doubt they will let it be a vacation.
