And then, the bigger guy just snapped. Picked him up in anger and slammed him on the ground. I don't blame him. Theres only so much shit you can take. The little guy learnt a good lesson. Don't start shit with people for no reason, and if you can't fight, don't try it with somebody 3 times your size; It won't end well for you. To argue that Casey was too excessive is ridiculous. If you wanted to be pedantic and 100% moralist about it, no he shouldn't of done that. But to have such expectations for one person only is ridiculous as well. Sometimes, you just have to get burnt by the fire before you learn not to play with it. The kid got what was coming to him, GGnoRe.

BS he broke his ankle. He punched him 3 times before Casey even retaliated. Casey took it to the limit, tho his response was a little over the top, it was nothing rat boy didn't deserve.

I'm sure the little boy will have more respect for his peers now, and school should not even interfere. It's pointless to try to prevent any kids from using violence: wake up, violence is everywhere in school, between students, but also between the students and their teachers. Heck, violence is human, it's a question of legitimity: was he legitimate to resort to violence ? Yes. edit: I'm shocked at the number of people here claimed they were bullied, I hope you were not alone to face this and had good friend to rely on, this makes me pretty sad.

From first-hand experience, being the victim of bullying sucks. Perhaps even worse was going home and my parents telling me that it was my fault in the first place for being bullied. I hope Casey's parents will understand the situation he was put in and why he fought back.

casey's response was not premeditated. he was never going out of his way to hurt the kid he was only defending himself. he doesn't even know how to fight. it never came to the point where he thought "okay ill lift him.. now turn him slightly and aim for his head" he merely lifted the small child and put him back down in a matter of split seconds does the bully deserve to be punished for being a tormenting little ba**erd.. absolutely. will giving the kid time off school in the form of suspension do anything?? no. having been suspended myself i have first hand experience in knowing that it feels more like a holiday than a punishment the only purpose suspensions can serve is basically isolating the kid from his friends. and making the parents aware of the level of behaviour that their child is demonstrating. if that's the best that school can do god help casey's everywhere conversely the little runt obviously doesn't deserve to be crippled because of his ignorance. i feel the parents of the bully and/or the teachers who were not paying enough attention or ignored the bullying should be blamed. obviously the bullies felt they would be able to get away with it otherwise they wouldn't have done it and the entire mess would have been circumvented CASEY for P. A report should also be filed to the police, just in case the bully wants to get-the-bullied-kid-back for dobbing on him. So a good education system will 1. teach students the lifetime psychosocial effects bullying has on victims 2. have a robust system to totally punish a bully, including police monitoring and juvenile detention should he try to 'hunt down' a past victim for revenge etc WTF? 3 warnings? suspended for a month on the first fucking offence, expelled on the 2nd. And a few months in solitary confinement for good measure. Personally, I would advocate immediate hospitalisation of bullies. In the short run, medical costs go up as bullies with 2 broken arms and 2 broken legs go into the health care system. In the long run, no more bullying.

that skinny kid was punching casey, he even brought a bunch of friends to video the incident. that's downright malicious and despicable. it just so happens that in this incident the kid he was picking on was physically much stronger than him. i am certain that there are a ton of kids around the world who are in this sort of situation and are completely unable to even fight back. those are the kids who grow up messed up, some end up in suicide, etc. that's fucked up. there's no place in the world for bullying.

Bullying is a terrible thing to be subjected to, and it can have some serious ramifications on a person's mental health. There are many documented cases of victims of bullying reacting extremely, whether it be suicide, extreme retaliation (escalating the violence in self defense), or going postal. None of us should be surprised by how Casey reacted in self defense, whether you agree with how he defended himself or not, and I don't believe anyone has any right to expect anything else from him in such terrible circumstances. If you're a trained martial artist it might occur to you to choose your level of force, maby to nullify or restrain someone attacking you. But honestly, I think this was an extremely spur of the moment thing. The other kid was boxing at him, he's probably gotten punched up before, he's probably not confident with his hands, he just did the natural thing in closing range and grabbing the kid. Once he grabbed the kid, he picked him up, turn the neutral situation into the offensive one, it's natural reaction. After that, he had a scrawny kid over his head, he has to do something with that, he was just getting punched in the face, he doesn't just want to let him down and let him get away, so BOOM. There are much worse and much more insidious things he could have done to defend himself. It's not easy to seriously damage someone picking them up and dropping them. It was a combination of the bully not knowing how to fall properly, and Casey not really knowing and "safe" slam. If casey had been training in wrestling for 8 months previous to this incident, then maby I could see criticizing the choice of maneuver he preformed, but I honestly don't think he had much idea of what he was doing at the time in terms of what to expect. He seemed as shocked as all of the spectators at how hard that little bully hit the ground.
