if only he wore steel toe boots... and kicked him just once...
he kinda had it coming after provoking him with repeated assaults...+ being filmed...

nah after years of being bullied (and especially being bullied by the same group of people) anyone would snap like the way Casey did. Casey simply punching (which anyone can do) the skinny dude back would provoke the rest of the group to attack him and also indirectly invite the group to come back again and again to poke fun at what little fight Casey has in him. But doing something like picking him up and throwing him straight to the concrete would make bullies think twice before advancing again.

This is like Nestea picking on SanZenith in the group selection stages for Code S then San picked Nestea up in-game and slammed him onto the ground in Shakuras Plateau. True story lol.

A couple questions for those who might have more info than I do on this case :
1) are they really both 16 years old?
2) what is the legal age in Australia where kids are no longer obligated to be in school? (and in the US, out of curiosity)

There is NO WAY these kids are 16. The girl looks 16 (MAYBE), but the boys look like middle schoolers.

Being a US citizen, you have to attend school until 18 years of age (senior year of high school typically). If you drop out before then you have to get parental/guardian consent. If someone can verify though, I hear it varies state to state (I'm in Colorado, and also have lived in New York).

2) The "main" time where people leave school is in year 10 after completing the School Cerificate, Year 10 is around 15/16 years old. Most people carry on to year 12 to get the Higher School Certificate.

Some states are attempting to raise the drop-age in order to decrease drop-out rates (not sure if there's any scientific evidence indicating this would be successful).

Are you also the sort of person who says, when an armed response team kills a dangerous person, "they could have shot him in the leg or something instead of killing him"? If so, you're wrong.

If the police are in a position where they have no other option than to open fire, they SHOOT TO INCAPACITATE the person. That may well be lethal force because they aim for the body mass or head as they are the two places to most likely stop the person from harming others.

Casey "shot to incapaciate" his attacker. He hit fast and hard. Yes, he could have seriously injured the little runt, but Casey HAD to stop him and his bully mates from attacking him (and who knows, permanently injuring Casey? It happens too).

Just seeing both of them wearing their backpacks the whole time makes me realize how young the two are. Casey was definitely justified in defending himself because if he didn't they wouldn't have stopped picking on him. Teenagers are just too young at that age, that talking to them wouldn't do any good. He shouldn't have picked the guy and thrown him though. From watching the video the skinny guy landed literally on his neck which could have actually killed or paralyzed him. Even though it didn't happen it could have. Of course Casey isn't going to be thinking rationally because he snapped after being picked on for so long and he's really young also. I don't think bullies deserve to die or be paralyzed because if we all think back when we were their ages we were dumb as fuck and didn't know any better. But I do think you should defend yourself in most cases of bullying.

How does wearing backpacks mean anything? People wear backpacks throughout the end of university and even grad students wear them regularly. The only time you don't wear backpacks is like years 10-12 when it's "uncool" to have one lugging it around.

The best part is you can tell Casey knew what he did was wrong by the fact he just walked away. It was about as a definitory 'snapping' as you can get, he realised after how much trouble he would be in, but was he sorry? Was he fuck.

It almost looks like if he would have waited just a bit longer the girl at the end who joined in to stop the other guy from doing anything, was about the break it up before it got that far. The shock value of the kid bodyslamming your friend, isn't going to get the point across that they should stop bullying him. As you saw in the video, it only brought more anger to the kids bigger friend.
