Rape is very under-reported in the US.

The world keeps finding new ways to surprise me , and not in a good way
|
It's very tragic, but to be honest I'm not surprised and I don't think anyone really cares. All of these girls in the Korean entertainment industry are treated like shit and like pets because all they're meant to do is make money.
|
This is just disgusting...
I hope this is causing public outrage in S.Korea. Shit like this needs to stop.
|
I'm not too surprised this happens now and again. Of course, I'd rathest see the villain prosecuted as strongly as possible. What a horrible way to use your power...
On the other hand, I wonder what kept her in that position. Did she go along with all of this just to pursue or keep her career? Wasn't it possible to drop all of it and start over? What would have happened if she refused?

Fuck you very much asshole. You blame the victim for not having guts? Fuck off.

Unbelievable. So many people blaming the victims. Do you know how often victims internalize the blame and do not and cannot leave the abusive situations?

The mod who warned him should apologize.
Sexual assault is one of the most under reported crimes, with 60% still being left unreported.1 Males are the least likely to report a sexual assault, though they make up about 10% of all victims.1
Approximately 2/3 of rapes were committed by someone known to the victim.1 73% of sexual assaults were perpetrated by a non-stranger.1 38% of rapists are a friend or acquaintance.1 28% are an intimate.1 http://www.rainn.org/statistics

i don't know whether matchfixing sentences were too harsh or if these people had easy sentences

In some parts of the US, rape is punishable by death. In no part of the US is rape punishable by death.
The United States Supreme Court prohibited capital punishment for rape in a 1977 case, Coker v. Georgia, in which the victim, while only 16 years old, was married and had the legal status of an adult.
And after Kennedy v Louisiana there is no more death penalty for rape of a child either.

Her contract was designed so that she is not allowed to work anymore as an actress if she quits, so she could not change to a different company. I guess her income was needed for her family with her parents dead, so completely quitting her career was not possible.

Damn this is fuzzed up :/

Considering how fanatic and batty korean fans can be I am wondering that none of the culprits got abused/killed/whatver.

28% are an intimate. <-- BF/husbands. 28% of the rapes are by an intimate and you think the statement is wrong or somehow extreme?

Imagine how many women in the same kind of situations don't commit suicide so it never comes to light.
Or, like so many Hollywood actresses, it only gets revealed in an autobiography decades later when the perpetrators are long dead.

Korea is reeling with shock over the news that netizens have uncovered some names from Jang Ja Yeon’s 31 offenders. The late star’s handwritten letters were revealed a few days back, and reportedly, they contained a list naming the men she was forced to ‘host’.
The alleged list reads as follows:
* Former CEO of Chosun Journal * Vice-President of Sports Chosun – Bang Myung Hoon * Chosun Central Journal’s Director of Advertising – Lee Jae Young * Chairman of Kolon – Lee Woong Ryeol * Chairman of Lotte – Shin Kyuk Ho * Former KBS PD, CEO of Olive 9 – Go Dae Hwa * Producer (PD) of KBS’s “All My Love” – Jun Chang Geun * Producer (PD) for KBS, MBC, SBS – Jung Seho * Producer (PD) for KBS’s “Boys Over Flowers” – Jun Gi Sang * Broadcasting/Music PD of “Playful Kiss”, “Boys Over Flowers”, “Perfect Couple”, “Goong” – Song Byung Joon (Married actress Lee Seung Min in January of 2010) What. The. Fuck.
This is disturbing as fuck.. I'm so disgusted right now.
Obviously just the tip of the iceberg, I wonder if maybe other girls will come out with the truth as response to this? Clearly shows there's a huuuuge fucking problem. And those sentences..

PRETTY FUCKED UP EH -_-
just because this isnt "surprising", it shouldn't be tolerated at all. if this happened to someone i know, i'd go on a vigilant rampage.
please talk to your lady friends and try to prevent this happening to them. it could be from their friend, boyfriend, w/e. teach them to have guts in not lowering themselves even if it means they can't get what they want. of course, there will be girls that wouldn't think twice about sleeping with another guy if it means she can get what she wants.

please never use RAINN statistics for USA
They give out surveys like "have you ever felt uncomfortable during sex, or pressured to have it with your bf"
a yes response = rape etc, also statuatory "rape". etc
They basically inflate their numbers as high as humanly possible to attract more funding /surprise.
REAL FBI NUMBERS
Forcible rape, as defined in the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program, is the carnal knowledge of a female forcibly and against her will. Attempts or assaults to commit rape by force or threat of force are also included; however, statutory rape (without force) and other sex offenses are excluded.
# The rate of forcible rapes in 2009 was estimated at 56.6 per 100,000 female inhabitants, a 3.4 percent decrease when compared with the 2008 estimated rate of 58.6.
