She played a small role,(like in High school she was the ''Mean girls'' Club which showed up like once every episode for 1-5 minutes or not at all). It ran from January 2009 till March 31. So filmping was already wrapped up I assume.
Still it is disgusting but not unheard of I believe. The actress industry is littered with pretty looking faces and its most likely blackmail in terms of, you either provide those ''services''(ugh this sentence that I write disgusts me) or you are out of a job. And its hard getting a job at all I assume.
After reading the article thoroughly, it makes me sad that she committed suicide. But boy, that ''black book'' of her will hopefully bring justice to the perpetrators(or atleast a semblence of it).

I think that what he meant is that the industry is taking advantage of the South Korean popculture and entertainment industry to transform girls into objects; and the girls willing to become actresses must be aware of this to some extent, but are clearly underestimating it.
As a consequence, word should be spread that being an idol isn't as glamour as it looks like, and that any girl should avoid it at all costs unless she is willing to sell herself for money.

what i wanted to say is, what would have been the consequences if she had refused? i dont see how she couldn't refuse. if she had refused, her career could have been over, her image smeared and whatnot but not refusing resulted in agony and later death.
i just hope that more girls can be stronger so that they won't be swayed by something like this no matter the reason...but i do understand it could get very complicated and varies by person and the situation. let these rooms filled with girls that are willing to do it(i'm 100% sure there are, just like there are gold diggers) instead of forcing a girl who doesn't want to.

Yeah, Hollywood has rampant casting couch type stuff. Although there are a ton more "pop" type young women in korean entertainment scene. This case is a little different in that it was more forced with beatings etc and coercion.
Roman Polanski, etc, if you have the money or connections you can get away with a lot of shit.
