Nobody wants the war. NK will receive the donations they ask for and the situation will get calm for some time.

The isolationist regime, which has shown in the past it will not negotiate, may continue to press this as once again ignighting the flames of war. Whether South Korea wants to get into a war is no longer a consideration. Unless North Korea can show restrain, which it has proven it cannot, then South Korea unfortunatley will be once again plunged into armed conflict.

If SK and DPRK start a war, their respective allies will help out. WWI started in a similar way (Austria vs Serbia). There is a chance this could lead to WW3, but I believe it to be very small. Hopefully this will get resolved without more violence.

If the war breaks out NK cannot possibly win it. But on the other hand SK cannot possibly survive it. So all parties including China and NK themselves don't see any other way than just to preserve the status quo.

Although highly likely, they did state that they are looking into what actually happened.

Yes. Likely? That depends on how much military escalation happens and what rhetoric is used over the next 24 hours. I'd Guarantee that we are in negotiations with China as we speak over invading North Korea, if for nothing else but for the possibility that all hell breaks loose.

Why not shooting at the tree too ? Seriously, they shot at a village, a civilian target. That's what make them wrong, there is no counter argument for that.

There is no reasoning with NKR. They need a regime change, but the change wil most probably involve a nuclear bomb, or two.. and that is not acceptable. A regime change is unlikely given the current state of affairs. North Korea is a virtual 1984-type authoritarian state. In their case however, the implicit weaknesses and unsustainability having such a system of government which would normally kill a regime are negated by the fact that North Korea has access to outside aid.

My heart will break because of it. However, if that is the only course of action, due to the logic of the lesser of the two evils, then so be it.

Atleast not militarily(troops etc.). Would cause too much problems between Eu and US etc. But they won't 'let' Sk and the allies attack NK without some kind of actions.

They have neither regional interests at stake nor military forces in the area. Let alone the fact that the EU's global influence has been steadily declining in general.

The EU isn't a singular military entity, it will be individual member states that would decide to go to war with N Korea if it does occur (I highly doubt this). Don't view it as EU and US but more as NATO :>

NK has the 3rd largest stockpile of chemical weapons iirc, and incendiary explosives would be absolutely devastating in any urban environment..... Plus, they've gotta be easier to deploy. Basically, North Korea is an explosive that's ready to explode anyday. Time goes by, and the explosion will get bigger. However, if we try to diffuse it right now, hell will break out.
