Head-Direct RE0 have been getting extremely good reviews, I believe they are only around $90 too. You should definitely check this thread out though, its sorted by price range. http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/478568/multi-iem-review-158-iems-compared-westone-4-radius-twf21-added-03-27

These are my first pair of audiophile headphones and I could instantly hear so much more that I could have had with sony earbuds, and there is actually a soundstage now. The headphones also don't leak as much sound as some people make them out to be (maybe b/c i listen to classical music and I don't blare my shit out at max volume) and they look really cool. The only thing I don't like is that they kind of squeeze my cheeks/jaws/meh you know what i mean! in when I wear them even when I try to loosen them, so they can be kind of uncomfortable after a while. I suppose this just takes some getting used to. Tomorrow I will do the foam mod to turn them in HD595s and maybe blast away some L4D2. I will also be seeing whether these cans improve with burn-in over time. Well I didn't actually get to do the foam mod until today. It went pretty easily and it's very safe. That being said, I didn't really notice much change although I think it sounds slightly better ![]()

So you're suggesting the m50s instead? I mean its $200 for woodies...Plus idk how the loopy cable will look while you walk around with them.

There is a straight-cable version, the ATH-M50s: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/644388-REG/Audio_Technica_ATH_M50S_ATH_M50s_Professional_Closed_Back_Studio.html Cable is still kind of long though. I guess you can always cut the cable short and solder on a new jack, but that requires some additional materials and effort. Just pointing this out--no comment from me vs. the ATH-ESW9.

Recommend me some high quality headphones for music production! I can't afford proper monitors, so I need headphones that give me a nice natural sound. Right now I'm constantly overcompensating with my lows when EQ'ing due to my shit computer speakers. Thanks in advance!

I've been wanting a little more, mostly in the Look department. Plus: summer is coming, and the closed design can get pretty warm. Last week I purchased Sennheiser HD 598. There's been people lucky enough to find the item at really good price in this thread. I wasn't so lucky; and ended up purchasing from HeadRoom. I'm so exited to receive them! ![]() Anyone ever tried both the PC350 and the HD598 and explain what they think of the difference?

For budget, I'd like no more than $50, with closer to $30 preferred. Again, these aren't for primary listening but for use as a secondary pair. I prefer sets with flatter FR and a more neutral sound, though that's not deal-breaking for me. For the price, I'm not expecting miracles for sound quality. Last IEMs I ever listened to were some Meelec M9s a while back, which I found a little bass-bloaty for my tastes but otherwise okay. Any suggestions?
