So i just got my last session (for now) on my back tattoo. I figured some of my fellow nerds might appreciate it. I got this tattoo for a couple of reasons. most obvious is that my last name is Angell. pronounced just like the word angel. however, i am not a spiritual person in the slightest. i went to catholic school for 8 years until i could finally tell my parents i was done with all that religion nonsense, that is why i wanted a non holy looking angel. and when i thought of the idea i could picture what it would look like in my head, and i realized, Tyrael was the perfect fit! he was always one of my favorite game characters and ive grown up playing blizzard games
as for the wings, i didnt want tyraels normal wings, those kinda skinny shiny ones. because another part of the tattoo is that it also represents protection. im the oldest of 3 kids, i always look out for my friends, i was an ice hockey goalie for 7 years, and i also seem to play supporting roles in any game i play. the reason i have that specific look of wings is cuz my aunt and uncle payed to have my goalie helmet painted and they put angel wings down each side of the helmet. all in all i think it came out great
P.S. i will get some muscles later, once i get off starcraft ^_^
do any of you guys have some kind of video game/internet culture tattoos?

Do you know who that angel is? It's Tyreal I believe, from Diablo, his wings look like that. BTW that tattoo looks sick bro, it isn't really that "nerdy" anyone else who has no idea what it actually is would think it's dope I'm sure.

Actually his wings look kinda like wispy lights instead of feathery.
Agreed with two other posters though, the Tattoo looks pretty awesome but it would look a hell of a lot more awesome with a bit of mass on your back.
I have a pretty nerdy tattoo: Cthulhu. But since I didn't want the wings, most people think its Captain Davey Jones from Pirates of the Carribean. But then I have to explain about Lovecraft and the meaning behind it. I have Cthulhu holding up a piece of oldschool parchment that reads 'Fear Not.' If you don't know Cthulhu/Lovecraft lore, meeting Cthulhu makes you go simply mad. Cthulhu representing all the obstacles in life that just fuck you up and the Fear Not being the frame of mind going into it and overcoming it. I had a few traumatic experiences between 16-18 that inspired all of this and it's about conquering and surviving all of it on a daily basis. I'll try to get some pictures up soon but for now, this is what I have. It's part of a sleeve that I'll be finishing up hopefully in the next three weeks. Already have half the top part of my arm and I'm going for my elbow area now.
Also, a pretty simple but one of my favorite ones because of the circumstances surrounding it: I have '175' on my right hip for ultimate frisbee. 175 is literally the weight of the disc but it's pretty much universal for the game so if you see some guy with a 175, he plays ultimate. I got it with my best friend in NJ at one of the best tournaments ever, Wildwood, as we were leaving on Sunday. Matching tattoos and bromance.
Shitty pictures of it and some other tattoos I have + Show Spoiler +
Dragon tattoo: luctor et emergo (I struggle and conquer)
I've always been tempted to get something done, but just haven't gotten around to do it. Piercings keep me happy for now. If I did get a tattoo, it would probably be an Ouroboros. Not so much nerdy as a mythological tattoo, but myth falls into nerd-dom now days :\
Not to de-rail the thread here, but an unholy looking angel? Isn't the whole idea behind angels holiness? Just a thought, not trying to get raged at, I'm actually wondering now...

It's a very good tatoo and I agree you were right to go with the simplicity side.

Yeah but you're just a really negative person. So that's why it "seems pretty ridiculous" to you. Great contribution to the thread though. Also needed to know that you need to get involved in the weights, very interesting.
Really like the tatoos shown so far. Agree with Chairman Ray, that must have hurt quite a bit and takens ages for the artist. So much colour 0_0

I'm all for tattoos and some nerdy ones are awesome, but there are some really really bad ones. Same goes for every type of tattoo, it's just saddening to see some of the shitty ones.

If you read further down in the first page I explain why the wings are different. I didn't intend to "get tyrael on my back" but when I made the idea he just seemed to fit so perfectly.
My Mum has 15 tattoos now and she was going to get one with my username on it, but luckily she got my real name done instead. She has promised to get an SC one done when she's got enough money spare.
Most of these tattoos look hideous but there are some pretty tasteful ones. I always thought those little terran/zerg/protoss icons, with the silhouette of the units would be a nice tattoo. Something small, maybe on the collar bone. I think it's a marine/zealot/hydralisk respectively.

For you 40k fans out there, this tattoo always makes my jaw drop.
Is that even real? It looks more like it was some sort of painted body art. Couldn't even imagine the amount of time, pain, and money that would take as a real tattoo >.<
That pacman tattoo is pretty sweet. The Chaos Lord one is insane.
I've always wanted to get a pacman tattoo on my chest with pacman about to eat my nipple. I just can't bring myself to get something so permanent. Maybe in a couple more years.
A tetris one would be pretty neat too, but I can't really think of anywhere to put it. A shoulder blade maybe. Somewhere that will still look good in 40 years.
Wow I wanna kno how much that guy got paid to get sc2 tatted on his arm like that, I just cant see someone loving the game that much already to do that for kicks and giggles

Same idea as the OP, this is actually a design i took from the original Diablo manual, and had it modified by the artist. I gotta admit, this one fucking hurt.

And I thought you had not only Zelda, but also the meaning of power, courage and wisdom and it's balance in mind, which makes the tattoo so awesome for me (it's awesome nontheless)
And you know, good for you. You put something on your back which you're passionate about, close to heart and looks real sick as well.
That's the problem nowadays, people just get a tatoo for the sake of the style. Tats are on your forever, it better mean something special cuz when you're 85, winkley and old, you can still showoff your tat with pride.
your friend does not appear to be having much fun getting those tats. hahaha. the pain is pretty bad sometimes if the artist is workin on a bad spot. for instance, it was really intense when my artist would shade right on my spine, that was definably the worst possible spot. but ya kno, the pain is apart of it, not to sound like a masochist, but it is very endearing.

I actually found that the spine wasn't too bad. For me, it was the soft tissue around my kidneys that made me grit my teeth.
Im sorry for the bump. I've seen this thread a month ago but did not have an account to post. Now that I finally decided to get one, I wanted to share my nerd tattoos with you guys.
Im a big Fallout fan as you guys can see... currently working on sleeving my arm up with a Fallout theme.
Damn it i was hoping to see a tatoo of mana and health orbs in this thread. Health orb goes to the left nipple Mana orb to the right. They would cover up your nipple and the diameter would be twice the size of it.
Pretty ridicilous i know. But im sure that someone out there will get it/already has it.
As for myself, i dont get whats so cool about tatoos. Every time i see a bunch of tatoo enthusiasts complimenting each others ok'ish tatoos i cant help but to see a bunch of people lieing to themselves/others... and i understand why - telling someone that his tatoo sucks (or even giving some constructive criticism) is extremely mean.
But tbh most of the tatoos ive seen in this thread are just that. Some are O.K but i still dont think any of them are worthy of a perma spot on someones body.
To me, a good tatoo is the one that has a meaning that is subtily hidden/not obvious and are the true works of art... on a grayscale. Coloured tatoos look bad on a human skin imo, whenever i see one i think of some sort of washable carnaval decoration, and not a permament mark.
The WH40k one is ridicilous, yes it has detail and colours, but its a fucking poster design, not a tatoo. Now that guy will look like a walking painting for the rest of his life :<
That is all, and sorry if it was hard to read, i havent slept for almost 24 hours.
To those who don't know, that's the wrong command for Shoryuken. Its Right, down, downright, not down, right, downright.

great tattoo, LoZ is awesome, it's simple, doesn't stand out to much, you don't have to tell people it's a "nerd tattoo" if you regret it i wouldn't be to remove.
I've toyed with the idea of getting a nerdy tattoo a few times—there's really no other kind of tattoo I'd consider—but nothing has occurred to me that I'd like to carry with me that permanently yet.
On the other hand, there are some pretty cool ones in this thread. :D
For you 40k fans out there, this tattoo always makes my jaw drop.
The only thing I can think of is how painful it must have been...
and how much it would cost...
I read some where that the artist who made it was a friend of the guy and he did it for free.
Hell yeah it would be free just imagine how painful that was i have not gotten any tattoo yet.. quite frankly i don't want to be like hey im gonna get a gamer tattoo /flex and 1-2years later being in despair regretting the tattoo. I Still browse the internet for nice tattoo but have not found one that catches my intrest. No disrespecting to anyone that got a gamer tattoo but if i want a gamer tattoo i want it to be nice and cool and worth every penny.

Jetzt und immer die Segen von der Vater ...und bleibst Unschuldig bis Er kommt.
means pretty much: Now and always the blessings by "the" father ...and you stay innocent until he comes.
(Why "the" father? Until the "der Vater" the sentence had a minimum chance to make at least sense. Die Segen is the blessings, plural, no need of alot of it here, so singular would be fine, like the blessing, der Segen. But even before, if you want to say, now and always, go for jetzt und für immer, way way better, like once and for all. Plus the first sentence needs a verb, in german. Like in english there is the "have", the german version lacks it, so it is not even a sentence, but gibberish words following each other with no meaning.
the second part is even funny because, well... there is a double meaning in german, like in english too...
you stay innocent until he comes/cums.. LOL (this was giving me fun time omg xD )
yea, that maybe common knowledge. i guess you get it. sometimes poetry just hits on you. poor girl. so awesome tattoos in here. but she got trolled hard. better dont visit germany with those if you dont want the laughs on your side. The german lyrics on the forearms of that chick really are a sad sight. Either somebody played a horrible practical joke on her or she never even had a german speaking person have a look at that sentence.

My friend Kevin Berube does AMAZING ARTWORK AND TATTOOS! He LOVES doing nerd tattoos. Here is a recent one: If you live anywhere near New Hampshire and you want to get a nerd tattoo, Kevin Berube is the ONLY ONE TO GO TO. I'm dead serious. He is so damn talented. This is just a personal opinion, but I think tattoos that leave some ambiguity or at least look only like symbols are the best looking ones.
Like the Triforce, 3 triangles. Anyone who's played Zelda will know what it is, and not only does it look decent and symbolic, it doesn't look retarded. It's a symbol.
If someone had link tattooed on their back, I think it would just look stupid. I guess I just have a thing for simplicity, or something that's just symbolic looking. A representation.
Personally, I'd never get a tattoo for the simple fact that one day I know I'll probably regret getting it.
Getting a tattoo of Gehn's crest from Riven next Tuesday, once I get my next paycheck. That was my game when I was kid - I was so damn proud when I finally managed to beat it for the first time.

AFAIK she wasn't trolled; she's got some austrian/german descent and can speak at least a little German. So I'm pretty sure she was the one who came up with the lyrics and spelling. Which I guess makes it a total selfown. :x

What if this person ends up switching to Terran cause of imba? QQ?
1.2 is happening; every zerg player should be getting a z themed tattoo. Mine will have roaches attacking a gateway with a cannon right behind the gateway not attacking back.
I think if you're going to get a tattoo it should be of something that has a real meaning to you and not just a logo that you think is su-per ka-wai-i or whatever. I'd also stay away from anything with a really obvious interpretation. Unless you want to end up like this.
The only tattoo I've ever really considered getting is of a necklace worn by a fictional character that I've always identified with. But then, I could always just have a replica made so that I don't have to take it with me everywhere I go.
Man, I wonder if there are any people who actually went out and got that Starland Vocal Band tattoo as like a meta-tattoo or something.
Dude! I got it! You could tell them it's Korean for First Born cuz like, that's what Protoss means!
Also, can anyone tell what legion that Chaos Lord is from? That'a fucking sick tattoo. I've definitely considered getting a WH40k tat, though not before my Pantera one. Just gotta get me the money...

Personally, I'd never get a tattoo for the simple fact that one day I know I'll probably regret getting it.
Agreed.
I am planning on getting an Aquila from WH40k, not sure to do it on my bicep or shoulder. Also want the atomic symbol, for many reasons.

this is why dorky, emo kids are so obsessed with this girl.. cause it's definitely not her music. It's always nice to see twin swallows on a girls hips though.

This is why dorky? Nice one. Hip tatoos on girls are fucking gross.. Clearly you have no idea of what class is.
Where do you guys think this would look good? It's a symbol for Famfrit from FFXII. He represents Aquarius in the zodiac system (same as me). I was thinking on my upper back, maybe right between the shoulder blades.

I'm a huge fan of the side-front tatoos:
I don't know if you're a man or woman, but either way this would be a great tatoo for that part of your body.

I wouldn't call myself emo (maybe dorky), but I would do terrible things to Lights, and am seeing her play in my city just because she's gorgeous.

(unimportant note: the you is added due to german form of stay used here, bleibst, only you could be meant)
Ahhh! Being a huge LIGHTS fan, this hurts to hear. xD
AFAIK she wasn't trolled; she's got some austrian/german descent and can speak at least a little German. So I'm pretty sure she was the one who came up with the lyrics and spelling. Which I guess makes it a total selfown. :x
There's also one more tat of some lion out there for anyone who cares. Too lazy to look ;D

That sleeve in the Kokatu video was AMAZING. 12 hours of sitting getting tattoo'd? Jesus, I'd never be able to handle that. :X
This is pretty obviously a religious reference (I was even able to tell before translation), not sure why you're trying to interpret it so oddly.

I realize that people who like Lights don't actually like music, but why would you pay just to look at her?
I've wanted a simple version of the Umbrella logo from Resident Evil for a while now. Not anything huge, maybe 4 inches in diameter. I'm thinking on the back of my right shoulder, somewhere it wouldn't get too stretched/deformed over time(from weight gain or whatever).

Your application for a nerd diploma has been denied, since serotonin is a neurotransmitter. The antidepressants you're thinking of are called "SSRIs", Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors.

I think there's a real company with a logo almost identical to this. I've seen it but I forget where. I remember being momentarily confused.
I'm 22 and I've been tempted to get a tattoo since I was like 16. However, being a nerd and not much else I couldn't really find a good motive, I felt like I would outgrow a nerdy tattoo.
Now I know that I won't Zelda: Ocarina of Time is one of my strongest childhood memories.

That is pretty much the mark of 4chan, lol.
I'm sorry, but I believe you were just wrong beyond all belief.

In fact, "von dem Vater" is still incorrect. The syntactically correct sentence would be:... man, I'm at a loss, it just doesn't make any sense expression would be "des Vaters".
How stupid do you have to be to get such a tattoo when you don't even know what's written there?
my favorite is when a guy/girl gets a tat of their gf/bf on them - then they break up and they will forever have a tatto on them or have to pay a shit load of $$$ and get the shit lasered off all pew-pew style.

no, what I mean is, that if its not done properly, you can get serious illnesses from it, also, if you regret the tatoo 5-10 years later, you can't do anything about it. hence it's stupid for me

I'm willing to bet that you are more prone to get cancer from the foods that you eat than the average person that gets cancer from a tattoo...
Also, tattoos have been able to be be completely removed for quite some time now should you decide you don't want it anymore.

I got mine partially because of the comic series "The Punisher", so I guess it qualifies as a nerd tattoo: + Show Spoiler +
In case you don't get it, it say "si vis pacem para bellum" around my wrist, which is a) a quote from an undisclosed roman meaning "if you want peace, prepare (for) war" and b) it is kinda like the motto of The Punisher.
To me, it has another meaning than the pure translation and the comic book reference, it comes as a pun on a German saying. I'll try to translate it but then it is less funny.
German: "Erstens kommt es anders [ausgelassen: ...und zweitens als man denkt], und zweitens bist du besser gut vorbereitet." English: Firstly, everything develops differently [omitted: ...and secondly, differently than how you thought it would go], and secondly, you're better off well-prepared.
Fun fact: The other tattoo I have on that arm is something a fellow student just doodled on my arm with a big felt tip marker during a boring lecture: + Show Spoiler +
Well, I guess hotlinking facebook pictures doesnt work as they do not load in time. Any ideas?

My ex got the protoss race symbol as a tattoo ^^ Sure I have a pic somewhere, ill look for it.
That husky was used as logo for my local hockey club's youth team where I started to play hockey. That's also where my nickname comes from and combined with good memories and the SK Gaming logo it pretty much completes the last 10 years of my life in one tattoo.

This is my protoss tattoo. Just got it a couple of days ago. The text i have on the side is a protoss font that i found online at eaglefonts.com. It says "My life for..." instead of "my life for auir". Thought that putting my life for auir would be a little too geeky so i put something that actually holds meaning to myself and how i live my life. Hope you guys like it, im happy with what i got. Looking at eventually getting some graphics that would extend outwards, maybe some psionic looking lightning or something to kind have the tattoo fade away instead of just having this tattoo floating out on the middle of my side. Im open to suggestions
UV ink hasn't been around long enough to properly assess the long term side effects, though some believe it may increase the chance of skin cancer. I'm a pretty heavy smoker, so it wasn't my biggest concern at the time. There's a few other side effects people speculate about and I won't go into all of them here, but it's worth educating yourself if you're interested in getting one. As far as I know, there haven't been any casualties as a result of UV ink yet.

Such an amazing tattoo. Made me start looking where to get an UV tattoo, did you have trouble finding where to get it? Or is it something fairly popular every tattoo artist knows how to do?
Once I get out of college (still in 4-5 years), I plan on getting a tattoo to remind of me my teen/childhood years. I have had many ideas from cards to stuff from video games to lyrics from songs, but I still have 4-5 years before I really need to decide.
My most recent idea is two crossed weapons from League of Legends. Viscero Xin Zhao's spear crossed with Battleborn Kayle's Sword. Pics for reference: + Show Spoiler +

They are known to fade a bit faster and for some people they'll be completely rejected by the skin. I got lucky; especially since hand tattoos are most likely to fade. So far though, it still shines pretty bright, and I've had it for a few years now.
I had to call a few places in order to find one that actually had the ink. The one that I ended up going to was a pretty extreme shop; the only one in town that also did things like body modifications (stretching and inserting things under the skin and whatnot). I'm not hardcore enough for that kind of stuff though!
I've decided that when I get my tax refund, I'm gonna go get my first tatt, which is something I've been meaning to do for a long time... but was waiting til I was neither pregnant nor breastfeeding
I've never been one to want a tattoo on my own body, and have seen enough tattoos-gone-wrong to probably not recommend it to friends, then again, if people are picking something that is close to their heart, chances are they aren't going to regret it in the future, which is one of the bigger possible negatives of tattoos.
Then again, one of my friends at Uni has a Mirror's Edge tattoo, and a Tron derezzed tattoo, and he says that he'll be able to look back in years to come and remember what kinda stuff he was into at that point. On the other hand, another person on my course has a crazy number of Mario mushrooms up his arm, and maybe its because the guy in question is a bit greasy, but I don't quite see it being as well-thought out and tasteful. I can respect tattoos when people do put thought into them and it is something close to the heart, but otherwise, not really my thing ^_^
Been thinking of something special and never-regretting thing to get tattooed on me, but I just can't figure it out :/ none of this has particularly inspired me, but I have to admit some of them are pretty cool
Some pretty neat and inspiring stuff in here. If I ever sprung for a tattoo, I would likely get some generic Japanese one. However, I'd also get something gaming/nerd related, along the lines of a transmutation circle from FMA or something.
Call me crazy, but I think I'll just stick with my Zerg symbol keychain. If I were to ever get a tattoo, it'd be something simple. I like the triforce one.
I'm also considering getting the Spiritual Stones scattered around my body. But first I'm getting a memorial tat for my dad, soon. It'll be the only non-nerdy tat on my body so far :S
If I'd ever get a tattoo (= when I'm not living at my parents house anymore) I'd love to get aku soku zan (in the appropriate symbols, prolly 悪即斬 , need to check it though ^^ )tattoed, starting on my neck and going down. It basicly means "kill those who are evil immediately".
props to those that know what anime/historical group it represents btw

I understand what you're saying here, that's one of the reason I chose the zerg logo - it looks good even if you don't know what it means, and as an evidence for that the people in the tattoo shop where I did it really liked it even though they didn't know it was from starcraft

Abe's Exodus is such an amazing game oh my god.
I'll be getting a quarter-sleeve done "soon" (teamliquid soon) and I'm considering throwing the TL horse in there =]

i think its really sad seeing all of these young kids with lifelong mistakes on their bodies. whats even sadder is that no two parent household would let their child do that. what used to be the black ghetto is now the united states of america.

I know you're a lame troll. But who are you to say they're making a mistake? Oh thats right, nobody.
Lot of hate in this thread. Well not a lot of hate, but any hate is too much. Plenty of sick tattoos!
My tattoo isnt nerdy in the gaming sense. More in the musical sense. But hey, nerdy is nerdy? Plus everyone likes to show off their ink, so I figured why the hell not:
I know these are not nerdy but I love them and thought I would share. This is my brother and he did the full sleeve and his side himself in prison. Imagine what he could do with a shop and on someone else?
its Italian and says "like father, like son" I got it to remember my dad who passed away due to brain cancer in july (infact 1 week b4 sc2 came out T.T) Sc2 was there to keep my head straight during my toughest life moment so i figured id honor it secretly by using SC font for the tattoo
im also 2 hrs away from getting my 2nd tattoo which is the WSAD keys/keyboard on my shoulder. ill update this post after its done with a pic
R4iD - I really like the first tattoo and i'm kinda surprised how its not faded at all being one year old.
i got my first tattoo about 6 days back (just the outline and filler for one side). going on the 1st for the final sitting. gonna hurt like hell lol not looking forward to it but its gonna look awesome when its done. will post a pic sometime.

Lol did he really do those himself on himself? I gotta say if that's the case he's a really talented guy. And also is he capable of drawing with different hands with the same skill? I'm asking because the two tattoos are on opposite sides of his body, so I'm guessing he had to use different hands to do them or he had to lay down in a very awkward position to draw the one on his side with his right hand.
I've never seen a tattoo look good in RL. And when you get old they tend to look very very shitty. Sad face. But. I liked dat Vagrant Story tattoo on a girl back. I wonder how she looks like from the forward.
I always wanted to get a tattoo, I don't have one right now but I'm thinking about it. You know, the usual "it has to mean something to me" etc but also look cool at the same time". I've always loved the idea of having the crest from ocarina of time. But also things like chemistry/biology/physics stuff would be in my ballpark aswell.
I'm no expert on tattoos, but to me it doesn't look like real tattoo. The color seems kinda like thick like in those temporary ones.
The fail comes from the fact that the arrows are wrong It should be Right then Down then Down-Right. That guy must have been spewing once he realised it was wrong, haha

Mmm, actually, it's correct. That's a fireball. You're thinking of an uppercut.

Hadouken (fireball) is down + down-forward + forward + punch. (quarter circle?)
Shoryuken (uppercut) is forward + down + down-forward + punch

Too old to be getting something so silly, and too young to be getting something so permanent. Is it really relevant, or are you making a pun about my immaturity?
Edit: It's going on the underside of my right wrist.

any decent artist probably wont do it, its a bad design and doesnt hold well over time
Why wouldn't they do it? doesnt make sense to me. A guy who works at this convenience store down the road has a large bar-code on his forearm. First time i saw it i complimented it, i think it is a fantastic tattoo. His response was - Thats what we all are, just another bar-code.
Ballin if you ask me and one of the very very few tattoos i would actually consider getting. I made the bar-code on a generator with my old student ID - 1066600. I scanned it and turns out i am a HD tv screen that pulls down like a projector screen. I am worth $600~ lol. If the artist is accurate enough you can make it a real bar-code too but that would be hard to get perfect spacing and such :o
i dunno why you disagree with it enough to say its bad design and doesnt hold well over time. The meaning behind it would hold forever so long as we are controlled by some form of government right? O.o Tho he is getting it for more nerdy reasoning ;P I still think the bar-code is awesome.

So i decided - once i have the spare money, whenever that is, i am going to get me a tattoo somewhere on me, probably not in plain sight for future work purposes.
I am torn between a few ideas, and am wondering what you guys think would be the best. It wont solidify my choice but it would be cool to get input. I am probably only going to get one or two of these. (i dont think i would get any of them colored unless it would really look good with it colored on me)
1, Something involving Vivi from FF9, maybe just his hat? dunno about whole body. But i love that little guy and play that game any time i am going through a hard time. Dunno why.
2, a Barcode made from my old student ID. It happens to be a legit barcode for some HD screen, for projectors? I am worth around 600 dollars lol. ID is 1066600
3, Portal cake. Yum.
4, The portal dude running out of the portal, you know what i am talking about! where he is half way out, yeah. I am not a huge portal fanboy but i do love the games, and really enjoy the art and concepts. Companion cube etc. It is just so classy.
5, Something that represents super smash bros 64 (64 version specifically), but cant think of anything, ideas for that would be awesome. Smash 64 is one of my all time top fav games, and i still play it on a daily basis. (play Link and Ness)
6, a SC one, from bw or sc2 doesnt matter... but it would have to be damn good and classy. taking ideas on that one too because well.. i cant think of one that i would want on my skin permanently. Dont even bother suggesting something that isnt just that damn good lol. <3 honestly i am steering away from a sc one, unless i can really think of a good good good one.
Simplicity is pretty awesome too. Throwing that out there.
Sick tat, for sure post another pic when your done.
I should get a DT tat, would be legit.
Edit: DT tat with UV light would even be sicker! The triforce UV light one in this thread is pretty awesome. As well as the "My life for" Protoss symbol one.
Well, I guess you're not changing race any time soon.
I can't say I'm a fan of tattoos overall (would definitely never do that to my skin anyway) but some of these are pretty cool. At least I can relate to nerd tattoos a bit more than random skulls and tramp stamps ahah.
I think such tats look nice in photos but absolutely ridiculous IRL. So much is lost when you're viewing the entire person in different lighting, in motion etc.
I also like the triforce one, very cool, OoC was probably one of the most influential games in my life.
Unfortunately I'm conflicted on tattoos in general, I personally don't believe in permanently marking or modifying my body, so that means no piercings, tattoos, and if the choice were mine no circumcision. However I respect and admire people willing to get tattoos for things that mean something to them.
I had a strong urge to get the characters 忠犬ハチ公, which means "chuuken hachikoo" or "the faithful dog hachiko"
Basically Hachikoo was an Akita Inu that was so faithful to its owner that he would come and meet him at the train stop every day. One day the dog's master died, and did not return home on the train, yet he still came to the train station every day at the same time, for the next 9 years, waiting for his owner.
I always found consolation in my pets when I felt that people had failed me. A dog has never betrayed his owner, ever, and even writing about this makes me tear up because the bond between a man and his dog goes deeper than the one he shares with a child, or a wife, or a friend, because it is completely unconditional.
I feel that the loyalty that dogs have for their owners is nothing short of poetic.
Instead of getting the tattoo I decided to just volunteer at an animal shelter and ignore the cats.
I wrote that to myself as a note, and the tat artist transcribed it to my wrist. It's a piece of the litany against fear, in italian.
If I did it over again, I'd have kept it in english. Maybe if I get it redone some day, I'll get it changed to english. As a lifeguard that sees lots of sun, sand, salt, and chlorine, it's fading quite a lot. but I like how it's weathering.
"I must not fear, fear is the mind killer."
It's a note to myself. And it's come in handy. Also, girls dig that line and I never have to tell them it's from a Sci-fi book.
To me, a nerdy tattoo should never look that way to an ordinary person. I'm a fan of classy stuff that has actual meaning, or intensely clever stuff. It should always be understated (if I wear a long-sleeve shirt or a watch, you'd never know it was there. it took my dad over a year to notice mine)

Dune for life <3. There are a lot of quotes from that novel that are epic.
I have been doing warhammer for 11 years, so you look again.
qft, no bolt pistols in sight, just a fucking badass chaos warrior. Saw a guy once with a 40k SM Dreadnought tattoo on his back, was the fucking sickest tattoo I have ever seen.
Not the best quality picture who also dont cover the whole tattoo but w/e
I believe this is character from Knight Demon Soul's or I was told something like that /not really sure if true/ Got inspired by a really awesome picture I saw of the character which I think resembles me well

I think people are confusing his magic weapon(sword with energy around it) for a power weapon.

Serotonin is a well known neurotransmitter, not a antidepressant. Many common anytidepressants work to increase the effective level of serotonin between the synapses of nerve cells. Just thought I'd let ya know...great tattoo though.
Its strange how some of the tattoo's are absolutely incredibly drawn and look amazing, and some look like much more cartoonish and in some cases drawn unevenly and crooked like with a marker. Is there a reason? Im not really into tattoo's but it seems to me some artists are much better than others, so I would assume they cost a whole lot more? How do you know if they are a good artist or not before you get them? aside from their books, which could be anyone.
I've always kind of wanted a tattoo but Im scared of getting a bad job done ><

Im not sure, when i went into my local well known tattoo parlor I checked out all of the books and asked for an appointment, they kinda just randomly assigned me to a guy and it turns out he had some pretty cool work. As a paying customer though, I don't think they would mind at all if you spent a lot of time researching and choosing who exactly would work on you in the shop.
Decided to show my nerdpride with a Z tattoo. Been playing since I was a kid back in 98. Starcraft and Diablo been huge things in my life from a young age so Diablo Skull is next on the list!

That's awesome. That's actual blood dripping, no? Either way it looks cool with it lol
For myself, I find that sometimes when I'm in the shower or on the beach or otherwise shirtless I look down and go "holy shit I have art one my arm" (not nerdy ink in any way so I won't post it) I'm curious, does anyone else ever surprise themselves when they see their tattoo? I've had mine for years and it still gets me sometimes. I'm still happy with it and love both the concept and the art, I just continue to be surprised by the mere fact that I have a tattoo on my body.
This was done on my skinny elbow like 4 days ago. I love me some zergers. Been down since 98! (/ô.ô)/ Was done in greywash only black and white shading.
