Later found out 'footle' means 'to waste time' so to me a 'footler' would be 'one who wastes time.' Seemed appropriate since I play games so much!

There was a funny post on the Paladin forums by a guy who was either 10 years old or had a supreme lack of understanding of the structure of a proper English sentence; I'm guessing it was his 3rd language... The part really funny part about the whole post he made, was keyloggers were starting to pop up in forum posts everywhere- and since his post already had terrible English and a whole buncha links in it, it was a great place for the keyloggers to start. The keyloggers took his thread, replaced the links with ones that gave lesser skilled netizens a keylogger, and were all about ret paladins... So, as a joke, I specced my paladin ret and had someone report my name so I could rename him to "Logginurkeyz" So whenever I posted on the realm forums, it would say Logginurkeyz, show my spec as ret (this was many moons ago in the second iteration of the WoW forums) and I'd get a few laughs. It ended up that most of my friends knew me by my paladin's name, so when I migrated over to SC2 I made my handle my paladin's name so my friends would recognize me. Besides, it's always funny when you hit paranoid people in the ladder or just someone with a sense of humor, and the either make jokes about me loggin their keys or just outright leave from paranoia (I've had this happen more times than I'd like to admit)... This is a link (non-keylogging) to the wiki page that has the original non-keylogging links on them. http://www.wowwiki.com/Server:Sargeras_US/I_am_the_Ret They're mostly crudely circled screenshots of him PvP'ing or badly done paint drawings which made his OP that much more hysterical... Small world, I'm from Bonechewer too. My main is Peevector. =D Actually, my WoW name was orginally Fecalfrown, before it got reported and I had to change it to Peevector. (1st year engineering student, I had vector geometry on my mind a lot) Fortunately, Sc2 gave the name Fecalfrown the chance to live again! As for its origins, I'm not sure. I'm 23 years old and for some reason poop and pee and their joke derivatives are still hilarious to me. I think it came from me taking a gigantic dump and seeing the turd frown up at me from its watery home.

Astro (Space like in starcraft) + RisK (the strategy board game) = a synonym for Starcraft the Z takes place of the S because it looks like a lightning bolt (a scar that I have on my finger) and I can relate lighting to space (well at least the atmosphere)

I also was coffeeFK for a while during the sc2 cb account wipes; a bad joke referencing to Deadly Premonition. Oh god that game is so good. Giant Bomb / Dtoid forever.

Was going to make a Night Elf Huntress, and I wanted a name that started with an "A". So I started typing letters, sounding them out loud to see if they sounded good. I went through a lot of letters that day... :p But in the end, I came up with a name I liked, and it's stuck with me ever since. I'm really happy with it. Basically it's a random mashing of buttons. Many people seem to have a problem with the vowels though. Some of the things I get called: Ahelia, Ahilia, Ahiela... But like I tell most people that I interact with on a regular basis, if you can't spell my entire name, just call me "Ahi" :-)

However, while i continued training he had to leave due to an illness which he eventually succumbed to 4 years later (he had an increasing worsening degenerative disease. I heard from his mother during the funeral he was in a vegetative state near the end of his life). and i got the moon from the wc3 player "moon" when i was into wc3 before i got in the BW scene. thats a nice reason, i knew a guy who changed his name to Bright in mourning of one of his friends who passed away, its a shame he didnt keep to it though, more disrespectful than anything sort of like "oh im forgetting you now, name change !" Phrost

My friend asked me to roll a shaman on his server and me, being the clever teenager I was, decided to reserve the name Phrostshock (because every one and their mother had the F permutations on horde side) Consequently after getting to 70 (was that the max level?) I healed for like 5 raid tiers then decided enough was enough. I rerolled a legendary druid on the gorefiend server, named Coldturkey and vowed to never do any of that crappy stuff i did before (I played a mage in vanilla and a resto shaman for most of TBC). Since then I have never spec'd less than 40 points in feral. I kept Phrost as my handle because most people knew me as that for a long time and it was readily available in Sc2, here, and League of Legends (which I had to unfortunately add a 0 to my name even though i was like one of the first non-family and friends beta players)
Sverigevader

I remember that it was one summer, a particularly rainy summer, and I'm quite sure it even snowed some even though we were in June. So, I was furious at the weather because yeah, it's summer and we want to go to the beach and do outside stuff! So I created a Blizzard speced Sorceress and named her Sverigevader. Sverige is obviously sweden, and vader is actually not Darth Vader, but the word we swedes use for weather, except that it's supposed to be väder, but obviously special letters don't fit in everywhere so here we are ![]()

Used to be called Scatterbrain because I'm a huge fan of Radiohead, then changed to Reckoner after their latest album (and its the best song on the album) then changed to just Reck or Reckon and now its reQ because I know there are quite a few Reckoners/Recks around and I wanted to feel more unique :p

TrueRedemption
United States313 Posts
![]() I was co-leader for one of the first major clans in the game, Edenic Gods (EG, kind of funny looking back considering the weight that clan tag means here), under a different handle (Inkster0). Things were good, but the best clan at the time was actually made up of only a few players, called themselves Strength Through Defiance (yeah, STD.) Anyway a month after release or so I was actually the person who found out that by killing everyone in a neutral or enemy controlled town, then adding one of your own disciples, you reset then steal the influence over that town. Aware of the impact this was going to have, me and my best two friends from EG essentially used this as a bargaining chip to get into STD (which actually was renamed to NoD). Speedy and I felt bad about ditching the clan, so I actually took a new handle. TrueRedemption is actually the perspective I had in making the move; in EG I had been bogged down with clan stuff and it was sortof just a social fun thing, but with this opportunity I wanted to really pursue the competitive side and make up for breaking up EG by becoming one of the best in the game. If any of you ever played it online you might remember that there is literally no ranking system in the multiplayer, so best in the world was actually more a matter of community opinion. In those next two months however I did achieve a recognized spot I am still proud of, even for being such a small game. Unfortunately however the game became broken using the mechanic I found, after a few months the competitive scene only consisted of who could do the one strongest strategy best. Kind of a terrible end to a very ambitious and fun game, tragically Lionhead is now spending all of their time on Fable after B&W2 was a flop. I've moved on to better games but kept the handle for the past 10 years, still really like the concept, if a stupid mistake costs me a game the only true redemption is to learn from it, play harder in the next game and become a better player. Completely true story, crazy as it is. Its probably all still chronicled on Lionhead's forum archive somewhere. For any of you too young to know about Black and White you should check it out, amazing concept and fun single player.

I am a ranked Fide master ( try to guess what my banned handle was ) , so I have always enjoyed both chess and general strategy terms and concepts . I like the strategic implications of the word ( as it also applies to star craft ), and the added sexual connotation
