EDIT: I agree with one comment on the blog's Daredevil page that points out that there is poor distinction between the conqueror motive of defeating single player challenges as opposed to defeating other players. The former doesn't interest me at all while the latter greatly excites me.

The No Commitment exception makes sense I think, since the completion aspect of gaming shines more in those single player games that have little rewards strewn throughout the game. There is little analogue in Starcraft or other competitive games. You could argue that memorizing all the builds, stats, pro-scene games, and generally being a fanatical knowledge base of all things Starcraft could count as "completing everything" but it would be quite the stretch to tie it to the same "complete all" mentality that is tied to RPGs, platformers, and whatnot.

Socialiser-Conqueror for those too lazy, I seem to be one of the few people who got socialiser as my main one. I thought this was incredibly accurate. I played all of the games that other Socialisers got played half of the Conqueror's ones. Also all of the description on in the in-depth pages fitted me quite accurately. I'd have to say that's pretty danm accurate. My favorite games are Starcraft, SSBM, Halo (conqueror), Resident Evil, Silent hill, Bioshock (Survivor), Legend of Zelda, Fallout 3, (Mastermind).

I'd say that this is fairly accurate. I enjoy very difficult challenges, though if it is seemingly impossible I won't bother trying. Gotta love that thrill.

That's a good point Physician. To be fair the test makers are explicitly testing for preferences (I love it, I hate it), which they probably assume are predictive of behavior. Still, I can't say the assumption is necessarily true. Preference has a potent rival for predicting behavior in incentives, which are at least as prevalent in games as anywhere else.
Testing for preference still offers more than testing for behavior, though, since at least preference suggests a clear result that could be clouded by other influences, whereas behaviors' causes are mired in guesswork, with no one being prominent.

Conqueror (Defeat): some players aren't satisfied with winning easily - they want to struggle against adversity and fight tooth and nail for victory. When we are up against impossible odds, the body produces both epinephrine (adrenalin) and norepinephrine. This latter chemical riles us up, gets us angry and motivated, and when we eventually earn victory the result is especially rewarding. It is represented by the small diamond on the right of the icon. Like the Mastermind, the rewards of struggling against adversity are particular intense so both circles in the centre are lit up in the Conqueror class icon.
This fits in pretty close to what I actually DO know, since I don't play SC anymore. The no pressure might change when/if SCII ever comes out. Most of the time I more games like civ and total war knowadays.

To me, there's nothing better than a hard fought victory. A game that you probably should have lost, but you dug extra deep and made one fewer mistake down the stretch than your opponent. Oh, it feels SO good. There are two instances I specifically recall. One was a game of Halo 3. My team was down 48-42 or 43, and we came back and won on a double kill from a rocket of mine. The other was a game of Madden which I completed a 44 yard bomb to Andre Johnson with 12 seconds left, after being down 24-7 at the half. Most intense games of my life, pretty much.

Fairly accurate I'd say at least as far as RTS's go. I absolutely LOVE planning how to beat a friends particular strategy at a LAN party. But I would have thought Achiever would have been a little higher as I'm a little OCD when it comes to doing games like Zelda Ocarina of Time- which is why I find particularly large games too annoying to play.

I would think it doesn't affect the result at all, it's just there so they can make a comparison between their gamer-personalities and the myers-briggs personality. each of the twenty-one questions on page 2 corresponds to one of the seven BrainHex classes (three questions per class), and it's generally not that hard to figure out which is which. For each "I love it!" response, you add two points to that class; "I like it," gives one point; "It's okay," no points; "I dislike it," subtracts two points; and "I hate it!" subtracts four.
Each of the seven statements on page 3 also corresponds to one of the seven classes. Whatever ranking you give the statement is multiplied by two before being added to the corresponding class. You are confused as to why it is called BrainHex when a hexagon has only six sides, whereas this quiz tests for seven classes. Perhaps the seventh class is represented by the center of the hexagon.

Very accurate! Btw it's very interesting that a lot of people in this thread seems to be Conqueror either as main or secondary class. Just goes to show the attitude you have to have to play starcraft
I wont really bother posting my full results. I ended with a Conqueror(20) sub-class as Socialiser(14). I'd say it's pretty spot on in the description given my games of choice and manner of competing/playing in them.
