Comes out Oct 2 I love zombie films, And this one is probably no different than most others with just as much gore as there is humor. Woody Harrelson is usually great as well. Looks pretty good
After America is ravaged by a zombie plague, a lone band of survivors fights the living dead while they cross the nation. They stop in an amusement park, where they believe they will be safe.[2]
Characters have been named after the cities/towns that they've been rescued from or originated from.

I like zombie movies.. an interesting turn on the horror genre.. I like the real gritty, intense, scary and suspensful ones.. like 28 days/weeks later.. where the zombies are real fierce and unforgiving, not much like the Resident Evil ones which oddly enough, remind me of "comptuer controlled" zombies, like cannon-fodder.
I think a turning point in the zombie personaility style was in "land of the dead" where they introduced zombies that could partially think and use tools to help them out, like picking ups knives or something to stab a person, to kill them quicker, so they could eat etc. Now it seems to be the staple in zombies, that they are more intelligent..
Since this one is a comedy, there will surely be the "dumb ass zombie" moments, like luring them to death by ringing a dinner bell, but that is about like zombie intelligence anyway.. and more for comedic relief etc. But ya, it does look good - finally a comedy turn on the zombie genre.
Just watched the movie about 30 minutes ago and it was good. It's one of those types of movies that I would watch about 2 times and it would get boring. It was a good mix between comedy and action. The horror part wasn't great since most of the scare scenes were one of those music-gets-louder-while-character-is-walking-and-bam-zombie-pops-out moments. Oh, this movie totally reminds me of L4D since the badass character is Francis and he looks like him too LOL. Not to mention there is a scene in an amusement park in the movie that will be in L4D 2.
This movie was really good. I haven't laughed that much in a movie theater in a while.. People actually got up and applauded when the credits started rolling.

I'm going to see this if it goes up anywhere near where I'm at. Even if the trailer is just from the best parts of the movie and the rest is a musical or chick flick it still seems awesome.
Saw it last night with my girlfriend. Really a great movie. Comedy + zombies = win. It's one of those movies that is "true." As in they do what people would do in real life in their situation.

I liked this movie.. it wasn't as stupid as I thought it would be, judging from the trailer. Most of the cheesy moments are in the trailer but they're not as cheesy in context.
Hmm since it is opening in Australia december 3 and I dont even live in a english speaking country, I guess it will be a while before I get a chance to see it.
"Zombieland" writer Paul Wernick spoke to MTV News about developing a sequel to the film that took first spot at the box office this weekend with $25 million, already making back its $23 million budget.
"We would love it, and everyone involved creatively wants to do another one," said Wernick. "Woody [Harrelson] came up to us after the final cut of the last scene and gave us a hug and said, 'I've never wanted to do a sequel in the previous movies I've done until this one.'"
If and when another film gets greenlit, the writers have more than enough material with which to work. "It has lived in our heads for four-and-a-half years," Wernick said. "We developed it and wrote it as a spec TV pilot in the summer of 2005. We've got a long brainstorming document that still to this day gets updated on a near-weekly basis with ideas. We've got tons of new ideas swimming in our head."
He added: "We would love to do several sequels. We would love to also see it on television. It would make a wonderful TV series."

yeah definitely. "It's Bill FUCKING Murray!"
Same with my theater. I had a good time and laughed a lot. I left early though and apparently missed the credits scene. Maybe I'll go again and watch with some other people
Btw Charlie I don't mind it when people get up and clap or cheer, just lets me know I'm not the only one who had a good time in there.
I just saw this movie. Definitely the funniest movie I've seen this year (I haven't seen many, to be fair). Loved it. Over the top violence, Woody being Woody. It was a good movie--just fun to watch.
the trailer advertised it to be different than what i had expected(example the woman walking around ... paino falls on the zombie , figured it would be a society where zombies were just.. normal and dealt with)
... and definitely not enough zombie killing for me, as i expected much more from the trailer , plus they purposely edited out a lot , i suppose to make a rating or something, and i really really felt that the 12 year old girl should have died , hence a legitimate disappoint from me.
great comedy however. i didn't think the kid had great acting at all, but woody was very fun to watch, <3 twinkie
IMO, the best parts were at the beginning, when the guy explained the zombie survival rules. So. Friggin. Awesome. And they made sense (fatties dying first, beware of toilets, DOUBLE TAP).
The recurring rules reminders were awesome too.
This movie is almost as good as shaun of the dead :D
way better than shaun of the dead imo, it was just more fun! they characters were all done so well, they really seemed believable even though they were all kind of out there and had over the top personalities.
I loved the first 20-30 minutes of it until the girls came in. The whole "we are complete bitches and will screw over anyone we meet" attitude got old incredibly fast but lasted until right before end of the movie.
My favorite part has to be the bathroom/clown scene.

Normally, I'd say that was quite a superfluous bump, but I was so sure I wanted to watch this movie, then I forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me!
ZombieLand, story is about a group of people who meet up in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse in the USA. It's part comedy, part horror, but mostly comedy. I didn't expect much of this movie tbh. The young nerdy kid role in movies is getting old and was lame in the first place. But Harrelson and the female character make up for it (as well as the BM cameo). I didn't think I would ever describe a movie like this but; It was fun. The movie was pretty entertaining and often ridiculous. Often times it was just so asinine it was too funny. The only thing that was lame was the story, there wasn't much of one. And the obvious pseudo love story was just dumb. 5/10
