Goonswarm is also a sandbox institution. The difference between this and the AT should be obvious. In this, the giveaway enriches the middle man, who is a for-profit in-game institution. In the tournament, there is no middle man. The prizes are earned by an alliance, and go to an alliance.

Imagine you gave away a unique BPO to an in-game corporation. The corporation then used the profits from owning that BPO to enrich its players. Would that be OK?

I guess I view blink as already having infinite isk and therefore being beyond favouritism.

It also depends how CCP asked Blink to do stuff. If Blink gives players equal opportunity to join in for free it's nothing more than free publicity. Perhaps I didn't read enough about it though.

Anyone can join the CFC though, it's probably easier than registering for Blink.

Sweet lordie, I hope the people rage-buying the ships mentioned in the presentation aren't going to regret it. *Yikes*

My first response was: 'don't react, you'll regret it. But if you do want to buy something just order BPCs to invent'.

CAN I PUT ON MY SMUG FACE NOW?

I'm on Antoine's side here. I only took minor offense on the reuse of the golden Magnate and fed Vexor, but

1) I don't think letting a third party profit from this is a good decision.
2) Somer Blink is pretty sketchy to begin with, regardless of how trustworthy theyve been with isk.

edit: and of course I missed the stream D:

Control Your Destiny

Guerilla-style Warfare Support - Tactics to chip away at the behemoths have surfaced, allowing small fleets of mercenaries, saboteurs and troublemakers to become cause for concern for even the most reinforced of alliance strongholds.

Yeah this won't be either massively broken or just completely useless at all

Since when was anything in eve not either completely useless or horrendously broken?

I feel like I've had this conversation when relating to another game..... Hmmm..... But which one?

CCP has a long history of extremely questionable and/or head-scratching decisions. If they stopped now, it would be weird.

Hiring Michael Bolton III. Antagonizing Garmon. Makes me laugh through my tears.

Isn't there some rule were no matter how much ccp wants to help the little guy or something, it always is horribly abused by the larger/wealthier?

No matter how much CCP tries to help people who refuse help they always end up helping the people who accept help.

If you're still poor in eve now it's because you choose to be.

No, it's "Anything designed to help the newer player will always help the older players more" in terms of game mechanics. There are a number of ways to screw over large groups, esp sov holding entities such as forcing them to actually rat/mine in systems they own to maintain control in addition to sov bills. Doubt ccp would ever implement anything like that though.
