We just roamed to Fountain with a small cruiser fleet and got johnny intell'd. We are split between two sides of a gate, johnny says 2 people decloaked, serg and i jump through, suddenly 20 man gang with 2 arazus, 2 rapiers, 2 falcons and countless bombers. Still managed to come ahead in the ISK war because we plopped most of the bombers. It's a shame though, we could have killed all of them if we were formed up in one place and had our logi in position :<

bro. I didn't call what was on field because I expected that the entire fleet was there ready to fight the gang we were waiting to decloak. Turns out half warped out when they decloaked, link boat was 4 jumps behind and no one else was on field.

Don't fucking blame that on me.

Conversely, you can also drop the AB for an invuln. Cap is AMAZING on all of the HAC's now. Or you can do dual LASB which is nice if you only plan on kiting.

Some of what he's saying is (accidentally, surely) correct. Being part of the CFC alliance is all pretense. If you are with CFC, and you are not Goon proper, you are a pet when push comes to shove.

The giant wars are probably the least entertaining part of EVE except to read about. The analysis of aftermath can be very intriguing. But in terms of playing the game and having fun, it's way better to do what traditionally would be called guerilla fights. In EVE, that's a just a bunch of guys forming up a small, elite gang and stomping some big dumb fleets. That is approximately 10,000,000% more fun than being part of a huge laggy EVE battle where your contribution can be rounded to zero.

/edit - The top thread in RPS - a guy claims that EVE is pay to win. Tears in my eyes.

It's comparable to being lower middle class in a society with shitty social mobility vs born free in Africa. A member of FA won't ascend to the ruling elite any time soon but they still have a much richer, more stable life than most. Nobody is about to take their space and their quality of life is actually really fucking high compared to much of eve. They don't pay rent and they have a bunch of good space.
