Since I really enjoyed reading the post-battle reports and other blogish posts that appeared quite frequently in this thread, especially when The Hatchery was a bit more active I decided I should contribute something myself. I'm sure theres others like me.

So I ressubbed my 2m sp spaceship pilot, joined Dreddit, sold most of my laughably small assets in hisec and podjumped in my new home in Delve. This is my first time I ever stepped into null so I can't say I know what I'm doing. Actually lets be honest, be it empire or null I still have no clue whats going on around me. However in these 3 days I had so much fun that I got instantly hooked.
Yesterday I participated in my first fleet op - a gate one jump away from our home system was camped by bad guys in cruisers, with a quick jabber ping a fuckton of people gathered up and we went to war. I jumped into my trusty rifter and followed along. Shooting at peoples was very fun at that moment (actually I did not shoot anyone, as I forgot to load my guns lol), until I died. You see, I forgot to upgrade my clone and remembered it midwarp to gate when returning to the fight in a vigil. To my surprise there was ~15 hostiles when i landed on gate (fight was going on the other side) and if they have had a bubble deployed - I would've lost 1,3m sp But they didn't :D I jumped in, burned to the opposite side of the ongoing battle, out of the bubble and warped to a celestial, created a safespot and sat there until someone in comms reported that the gate is clear, lol. This is what we killed, but I think it shows only those that I aggresed on. How do I link a specific battle, like this?

Today I joined a roam. We traveled 5 jumps to harass nearby hostiles. Not finding anything to kill, FC decided to bump an archon outside of a station, expecting him to be afk. Yet our masterplan did not succeed and we left with one casualty - a destroyer fell to station guns. Was a bit disappointed that no hostiles showed up to fight, but was fun nonetheless.

So all in all, the only cons I see: it's hard to travel around without blowing up and everything is very expensive in nullsec - 50%+ more than Jita prices and most of the time theres no stock at all.

My new goals are to set up PI moons for POS fuels and creating bookmarks. The former is not going to be fun at all, navigating in a industrial through Delve is going to be tricky :/
