While it may be a decent, established corp, the reality is that this game is for the hardcore. If you are a new player. Prepare for a very steep learning curve. There is so much stuff in this game that it is almost impossible to get anywhere in less than a few months, and that is just the beginning. I am not flaming anyone. Nor did I flame anyone. Instead, I made a simple post saying that the corp was probably decent and that new players are fucked. The reply I got speaks to the level of ego running around. I never even tried to join the corp, so I don't know which instructions I didn't follow...

Way back in the thread, when I started my first alt, I used it to see if I could make enough money for a plex (350mil back then) in less than a week. With only probing and a 5mil donation from my main (for sisters core scanner probes) I started running hisec radar sites and was able to get enough isk from that to plex in about 6 days. This was done entirely on a trial account. Granted now if you were to try that it would take 10-12 days to get your first plex, but that does not mean you cant get anywhere at all for the first few months. And honestly, if you get a 21 day trial and still are unable to figure out the probing interface despite asking others for help and researching what you can online for 8-9 days, the problem lies with you. The learning curve in eve is only as steep as you make it, trying to learn everything at once will only result in being overwhelmed. Also, please read the op before commenting on how the corp is, otherwise you come off as sounding either as ignorant or insulting. Since we hope you actually read the op and formed your post after gleaning a basic amount of information on the thread, a number of people will read your views as insults. This is clearly not the case as you have stated that you did not read anywhere in the thread on how new players are helped, leading me to believe you did not read the op at all.

http://www.dualshockers.com/2012/03/24/eve-online-might-get-directx-11-support-and-features-will-let-you-buy-graphics-cards-with-plex/ If you’re worried about your video card being able to run the game in DirectX 11, not only the tassellation system would be fully scalable, but CCP and Nvidia will allow players to buy a new graphics card paying with in-game currency. The deal is rather sweet: players can already covert their ISK (the in-game currency of EVE) in PLEX (Pilot License Extension, equivalent to a month of subscription to the game). Soon they will be able to pay 20 PLEX to have a Nvidia GTX 560 delivered to their doorstep.

I post one thing and get a bunch of useless replies... Vice, GG bro. You made an alt and played the game again. The curve is as steep as it is. Not as you make it. If people made the curve it would be so low you could afk through the game. Plus, the OP is pretty accurate. It says that you will get trolled and ridiculed by corp members. QFT

What is my role in all of this? And what happens when its all over? But I? I have transcended time. I have transcended death. As such, these questions have lost any potency that they may have once possessed. People ask me why I do the things that I do. By my hands, by my autocannons, thousands have been snuffed out of existence. I do not question the morality of such things. I savor the glory. The rush of adrenaline. That feeling of omnipotence: I alone have foreseen all possible outcomes; all too late, as the walls of fate close in around you, you will realize that I was the orchestrator of your demise. There is no hunting like the hunting of men. I do not fight my nature. My name is Aeth Gemulus, and I am a capsuleer. I am a combat pilot. My journey began in earnest a year ago, in the region of Molden Heath. Kwark uK, CEO of a corporation known as 'The Hatchery,' sought control of the region for purpose of financial conquest. He sought out promising new pilots to shape and mold. A lieutenant of his, one Firebolt145, recruited me into their ranks. This is my story. And a lot of killmails. I found Kwark's methods distasteful. He sought to break down his trainees psychologically, akin to tales of old, of the ancient military forces of the Terran system. He wanted to use me to his own ends. Two, however, could play at that game. Whatever I thought of him personally, I could learn much from him in those early days. I could resist. I would steal all the knowledge I could from him, and then I would leave. My first vessel was the rifter. As he belittled his pilots, he belittled the ship. That isn't to say that they weren't, and aren't still, used to great effect in this manner, but they were treated with no respect. Rifters, and their pilots, were treated as being less than worthless. The danger to your ship, and to your capsule, was of no concern to Kwark, and if you wanted to have any chance at survival, you had to learn fast. Kwark threw me into hopeless situations, situations which, at least in theory, I had no hope of surviving. And yet survive I did. http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9323748 (I survived sometimes, anyway, those are the kinds of things I was subjected to under Kwark.) I learned the tactics of an interceptor pilot, working for my fleet to limit the mobility of our foes. When we were in danger, I would create a barrier between my allies and my enemies, allowing for the safe retreat of my friends. When we had the upper hand, I would lock down key enemy vessels, disabling their warp engines, allowing our heavier, slower craft to close in and demolish them. I isolated enemy craft and kept them from safety. I acted as reconnaissance. From the very beginning, I made crucial contributions to our fleets. In spite of myself, I began to grow fond of my fleetmates, even Kwark. From violence, the purest relationships are forged. We were comrades. We were brothers. Unbreakable bonds were created. http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9608107 (The work of a rifter pilot is never done. Death before dishonour. And death to all dishonourbirds. This is the kind of thing that a day old player in a rifter can accomplish, and these kinds of actions can turn the tide of a battle in an instant.) My knowledge and abilities grew. I began to understand and appreciate the rifter, and its counterparts, for what they truly were; incredibly powerful, capable combat vessels that have been blessed with the greatest strength of all: they are incredibly underestimated. I ventured forth on my own, seeking to improve, and to prove, myself. I met many friends. I developed rivalries and even made some enemies. I made a name for myself. Spaceships exploded. + Show Spoiler + http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9989616 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9937382 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=9913463 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=10107448 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9907061 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9906244 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9897036 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9878348 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=10256131 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=10188619 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=10149973 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=10143759 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=10106542 (Don't let anyone tell you that your rifter can't kill anything. Or that you are limited by your skillpoints. Get out their and find some targets! Note also small groups of rifters are deadly!) Around this time, our corporation decided to relocate to Lonetrek. I was becoming quite the capable pilot, and my skillpoints now allowed me to comfortably use cruiser and battlecruiser class vessels. A whole new slew of targets were now open to me. I hunted. + Show Spoiler + http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9642769 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=10556621 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=10640301 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=10621145 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=10678852 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=10693482 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=10813294 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=10814921 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=10804130 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=10647249 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=10762905 (Again, the message is that you should get out there! Don't buy into this whole "SOLO IS DEAD1!11!1!1!" attitude. While these might not be the most impressive kills and battles, I was very young; I had very, very few skillpoints. I had no implants. I never had boosting alts. You can almost always make a situation work in your favor, you can almost always isolate targets. Lots of these mails don't tell even half the story; oftentimes, there were large numbers of hostiles on grid, or mere seconds away, or in an adjacent system when I landed these kills. Go solo!) I was now very confident in my abilities. I had an in-depth knowledge of tactics, ships, styles, etc, etc, etc. On my own time, I returned mostly to small ships - frigates and destroyers - in which I had first learned my craft, traveling far and wide to find groups of enemies in far superior vessels that might provide me with some challenge. I also began to command the forces of The Hatchery, leading us to many glorious victories. + Show Spoiler + http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=12271236 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=11746860 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=12219614 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=11848529 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=12515219 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=12504787 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=12488962 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=12442234 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=12308802 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=12663947 http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=12655229 That, my friends, takes us into the present. What the future will hold, I do not know, but I look forward to spending more time with the members of The Hatchery. There are many, many good stories to tell that I did not tell here, mainly because this post coming into existence in the first place is the product of some willful procrastination, and I really do need to go write that paper now...Before I go, some shoutouts! It's strange how much time I've spent with you guys, and yet how little most of us actually know about each other, and yet how fond of some of you I feel. I think of you guys as kind of like drinking buddies, I guess. Anyway... Puff: Shark week for life~ Glad shit is going well for you man. Leah: I can tell that we are going to be friends~ Excellence in Bellicose piloting, keep it up~ Johnny: I worry about you my dear Swedish associate. May the things you steal enrich your life, instead of defining it~ Emdar: This is going to sound kind of serious, and I'm sure you aren't even aware of this, but when I picked this game up, when we were hanging out in Molden Heath, things in general were going rather shittily for me, I was in a bit of a funk. I didn't have a whole lot of stuff I could laugh about back then. You made me laugh A LOT. Much love man. Def: What do you tell the man who knows everything~? <3 Jed: Best Chewbacca impersonation I've ever heard. As you yourself would say, keep that dick up m8~ Body Shield: A picture says a thousand words, or something, and you have a picture for EVERY situation <3 Tob: Get well soon dude, we will miss your antics! Caelum: For making absurdly racially insensitive comments while managing not to actually offend anyone, and for otherwise just generally being really ridiculous and incredibly French, we love you <3 Also, your mother makes shitty oatmeal, or something... BBQ: Keep doing whatever it is that you do, I can't really explain why I like it, but I do. Also for making the introduction between myself and the magical substance called pizza rolls. I never knew I could eat for like 3 weeks for $10. Keep it bitter~ Michael: You are one devious dood. You also come up with ridiculous fits. Also, you are never allowed to operate on me under any circumstances. <3 Firebolt: You are a dirty traitorspai. Come back <3 Karah: Please stop linking those stupid f****** gifs where some guy falls on his face and nearly dies or something, kthnx <3 Zedd: For being the best EC-Police Squad Partner one could ask for~ Enjoy examples of our finest peacekeeping efforts: + Show Spoiler + Serg: You da man. I've had a good time just screwing around (sort of) looking for stuff to pew with you. Kwark: I know I'm going to regret ever putting this on the record, but you're a pretty cool guy. Excellent leader, gets shit done; The Hatchery as it is today would definitely not exist without you. Always good for a laugh, even if it's - and it usually is - at someone else's expense. <3 I'm sure I've probably forgotten somebody...sorry! You guys are all awesome! I'm way glad I stumbled across this thread a year ago! nice post aeth, happy eve birthday i guess... so coming back to 20 pages and some patches i guess :S havent forgotten my debt ![]()
