I'm not a very good picker though :p
I just have a general idea of priority pick heroes which we hope to use (kotl sa), which heroes our team likes using (potm), which banned heroes we almost never use (chen) and go with the flow as the pick progresses.

Also I have to weigh how much we want a certain hero against how much we don't want the other team to get it instead, with team synergy in mind.

Have to think about laning as well (by the time you've chosen 2-3 heroes at least), which is why I like potm so much. She's such a flexible hero.

Picking gets easier/faster as you play more and have a feeling of what you want beforehand. I used to take so much time in -ap, trying to figure out how to counter such and such heroes individually but team synergy is more important imo.

But we can do that when I'm bored. I'm not on MSN much these days. I usually don't play at home now, PC BANG! (for better teamwork)

Hopefully, in the near future, we won't need vent or anything since we'll all be playing at the same pc bang.

edit: i also broke my previous record of having gotten/assisted every kill. It was 21 minutes or so, now it is 37 minutes 16 seconds.

Yes, we use almost identical lineups >_< I had some embarassing deaths/moments but they were still gg's. The majority of my teammates are school colleagues who I sort of recruited and they've played xl for a little more than a week. We performed pretty well I'd say :D minus the RETARDED fights that happened occasionally despite my telling them to pull back 10~20 seconds beforehand T_T

Do you have replays of your real team competing in anything? Or were those already posted. I don't normally watch any replays at all, but I think it'd be cool to watch your team compete.

And yeah, saying B and nobody goes B is very frustrating.
Happened to me multiple times today and I just said, "do you not trust me?" to the offending party after they died.

Hehe. I had some doubts about cm at first but then we tried using it in casual games and the difference in lane control was huge.

Real team..? Eh, I guess our A-team hasn't gotten together to play yet. We've always mixed in weaker members who need experience, or whoever happens to be online.

Games 5, 6 are probably the most entertaining if you don't have the patience >_< I think we can get pretty solid within a few weeks. Our style is too passive right now :/ and I'd like to experiment more with picks. We definitely need to work on positioning. We also need better laners/support players. That's part of why I pick cm so often: to make up for our shitty laning -_-

sometimes you have to click more than once, and sometimes it doesn't immediately do it. So if he used blink to get away from it, sometimes it's just faster.

I still really like sandking but every time I pick him, people say
'i don't want to play him'. Though I pick him with the wrong lineup etc. Basically I have 1 super dude who can play all roles. (alven). But last time I picked SK I can't remember but like... everyone avoided him like the plague.

I realized a huge mistake in my last CW I lost, vs naix+brood, I need to pick not just AOE heros, but AOE heros with good escapes. I figured I could just choose AOE+A stronger carry. That didn't work out so well once brood got BKB and naix... is just naix.
Sand/Qop/Potm etc.
Even though all of those heros have a hard time killing naix, with the exception of QOP imo.

Sand king is pretty much a "glass cannon" like shadow fiend, except that he has a stun instead of imba attack damage, and crappy farming. I like using him in pubs, but he dies so fucking much and can't farm for shit in CW, so boring as fuck. And you wonder why no one wants him.

This is the reason why I will become the sand king master, and Pein will become known for its imba sand king user, kind of like how SK was once known for Loda's shadow fiend.

You guys should see the stupid game where we won so stupidly. Honestly, no turning point: we were getting owned for 70 minutes, then we won.

Because dual laning with sandking requires your lane partner and you to have fairly good mojo. 2 (3?) armor low hp melee hero with a tiny range stun does not sound attractive without said combo action.

I love sand king... really love him and I think he has a place in a lineup that needs AOE and someone who can escape without needing to buy a dagger, but he gets one anyway, i.e. vs brood+naix. 3 escape skills + farm / often passive that often helps gank / stun that can stun multiple dudes + nifty ult.

Sand king is fragile as shit, so you're very likely to die if you fight. If you can manage to farm a bit, you're going to stack a few bracers and straight to dagger, and you're still going to die in 3 seconds when people start hitting you (obvious exceptions: lineups that lack AOE disables... but how many of those do you actually see?). Stats help a bit in fights and orb does not.

In the end, this means that unless you're playing against a team that's so crappy that you'd roll over them no matter what you do, your sand king is not going to be farming with orb.

Oh, and sand king is usually going to be the initiator, so he's going to dagger in and stun. Then he'll turn on sand storm or his ult, depending on the situation, and hope he doesn't die. Forget the "escape skills," using them to escape makes him ineffective for that fight.

BTW L, it was 0 armor until level 5 until very recently. Now it's 1 armor.
