i hate having to guess if moves are unsafe or not me and my friend were playing earlier and we were just going by if a standing 1 or 2 or a throw (or a farther move for moves that push back) could punish the move but we dont really play 3D fighters so we don't know what the fastest moves on here are exactly. If there's an easy test like Zangief's SPD or AHVB if a move is unsafe or not it'd be nice to know (if there's no frame data). trying to learn Bruce. Is he any good? He seems like he's pretty good at controlling space and setting up favorable situations frames-wise... I could be utterly wrong though. That B+2 really reaches far though. Is it unsafe? Me and my friend couldn't find anything that punishes it. It's pretty easy to counterhit but it still seems like a solid move. Character reminds me a lot of Sagat, both in visual appearance and playstyle.

Character reminds me a lot of Sagat, both in visual appearance and playstyle. Bruce is really good. Borderline top tier by some accounts. HUGE wall carries off any launch on top of strong juggles, good pokes, etc. etc. Japan has frame data :V Arcadia has been putting T6BR frame data (a few characters per issue, mostly like a "top 20" list of moves) if you know someone who has a subscription or who can get good scans. Inatekken wiki has stuff too, but I dunno what the link is... plus it's not complete or always completely accurate. Fastest move in the game is Yoshi's flash (punishes -6 but no range)... otherwise, fastest move for most characters will be 10F (jabs, Ganryu headbutt); as of T6, 8F jabs are gone so 10F is the fastest non-flash move available. Some general thresholds to keep in mind: -10, jabs. -12, in T6/BR lots of characters got beefy -12 punishers and a lot of old -12 punishers got buffed. -14, a few beefy punishes here; most dangerous is EWGF and the like, though most characters don't get a launch till... -15, standard launch punish. Hopkicks and generic df+2, along with random character specific launchers (Jin d+3+4, for example). For crouch blocking, ws+4 is the generic fastest punish. -12/-13 or so you start seeing some beefier punishes for better punish characters (Kazuya twin pistons, Steve ws+12). Full crouch punishers are a lot less standardized... IIRC it's something like -11 or so is ws+4, -15 is hopkick, -19+ is uf,N+4 hopkick or CC, launcher. And everything in between is whatever your character has. Tekken is the kind of game where most things are -frames on block, but not necessarily punishable.

So this game is awesome for me. Gives me a chance to learn a game that isn't my main game (SF4/ST), which in turn makes me see a different perspective back on SF. The other thing is that it helps me get over the issues I've had playing under tournament conditions: Much like the real tournament, there are smelly-ass smash players unfortunately directly beside the marvel (soon to be tekken) tv. There's DDR around the corner, the other side of me is rock band with some fat girl that comes every day and plays eye of the tiger 27 times in a row (I counted the other day) (mimics having to hear all the other games at the tournament really loud and annoying ringtones and shit), some people that walk/stand in front of the screen sometimes (thank god this doesn't happen at the tournament at least but still), people talking shit to me, having to hear people go "MAN FUCKING CABLE/IRON MAN/STORM/PSYLOCKE ASSIST/JUGGERNAUT/STRIDERDOOM/SENTINEL/CAPCOM ASSIST" behind me when I play sometimes (hearing shit like this used to put me on tilt, not anymore thanks to this), and just the general nervousness of playing people that aren't my friends, and having people watch me play that aren't my friends, and also having to put up with playing against some dude that smells like garlic and then that other dude that's constantly snorting the snot up his nose, just so many distractions, having to figure people out mentally in 99 seconds or give up my spot, the smell of the shitty food place next door. It's just very different, I was used to playing in such a controlled environment. I used to fuck up mentally just by playing on a different TV. This is a very rarely talked about skill in placing well in tournaments... Speaking of this topic, any of you that play with the stick on the floor, how do you deal with having to play on a very slick surface? It only happened to me before at SEB back in the summer... but I feel pretty annoyed with it still. It was very hard to play, I kept missing fireballs, and I missed my combo into ultra 3 times in the tournament because me putting in the motion made the stick slide and when my fingers did the usual motion to hit the 3 buttons I got no buttons (lol fingers in between). This is pretty bad and I can't let that happen to me again, any solutions? My friend suggested buying a doormat or something similar and taking it to the tournament just in case. I don't know how well that would work.
