This are 2 separate items in HoN. Edit: ![]() as opposed to dota right? I quit dota ages ago. By that time Manta was diffusal + vitality booster. In HoN it's slash + ultimate orb. And to people asking about Gambler: he was last seen around 5.84c I think (or maybe even before that), they removed him after finding out that he could 1-hit roshan on level 6 or something like that. ![]() Lemme quote an old Gambler guide here: Stats Description Maverick was a down-on-his-luck peasant for most of his life, until poker became popular in Stormwind. He made a great deal of money through his impeccable luck. After losing it all to the Sentinel heroes on poker night, he threw his lot in with them to earn his money back. Strength - Doesn't matter Agility - Doesn't matter Intelligence - Doesn't matter Attack range of 500. Movement speed of 300. If you have to know, all his stats are average except for his crappy starting armor. But it doesn't matter. Also, Gambler has a hidden Luck stat which is unique for every player. It is increased by some certain items and the player's belief and trust in Lady Luck. Pros * Ranged * All his skills are awesome * Item independent * Fun to play Cons * Very Luck dependent * Very gold dependent * No escape mechanism * His ultimate can make or break a game even more effectively than a Divine Rapier You should play Gambler if * you are a risk taker You should not play Gambler if * Skills Ante Up ![]() Maverick goes heads-up with a unit, friend or foe. Maverick wagers 100 gold on the game. If that hero is the first to get a kill, Maverick cashes in for a big reward. If that hero is the first to die, Maverick cashes in for half as much. If that hero is an enemy, Maverick damages it. If that hero is an ally, Maverick heals it. Level 1 - Cash in for 300 gold, damages or heals for 50. Level 2 - Cash in for 400 gold, damages or heals for 100. Level 3 - Cash in for 500 gold, damages or heals for 150. Level 4 - Cash in for 600 gold, damages or heals for 200. Cooldown: 60 seconds. Mana cost: 100 Comments: This is kinda complex, so let me explain. This skill has a 600 casting range. When you use this, you lose 100 gold and mana while damaging/healing your enemy/ally hero. At the same time, a buff is placed on the hero which lasts 60 seconds (same as the cooldown, which makes the skill quite neat). If that hero kills another hero while the buff lasts, you get the gold specified. If that hero dies during the buff, you get half as much. The damage is reduced by both resistance and armor. But it doesn't matter. You will be using this on allies and enemies who are about to die or kill. Chip Stack ![]() Maverick wishes to eliminate his wealthy opponents and goes after his mark. Deals damage based on enemies gold. Level 1 - Deals damage equal to 15% of enemies gold. Level 2 - Deals damage equal to 20% of enemies gold. Level 3 - Deals damage equal to 25% of enemies gold. Level 4 - Deals damage equal to 30% of enemies gold. Cooldown: 7.5 seconds. Mana cost: 100/105/110/115 Comments: What a beautiful skill. You see that Spectre saving up 3800 gold for her relic? Give her pain. It has a 600 casting range, which comes with a low cooldown and a low mana cost, so it's quite spammable. The damage is reduced by both resistance and armor. But it doesn't matter. Okay, it does, but only a little. You will be using this to own heroes who save up large chunks of gold or to wear down a not-so-wealthy hero to finish with your ulti. Lucky Stars Maverick thanks his Lucky Stars often, and it pays off. Gives him a small chance to instantly kill a creep, or deal 200 bonus damage to a hero or structure. Additionally, Maverick's lucky gambling allows him to profit from most attacks. Level 1 - 5% chance to get lucky. Level 2 - 6% chance to get lucky. Level 3 - 7% chance to get lucky. Level 4 - 8% chance to get lucky. Passive Comments: Let's start with analyzing that last sentence; how much gold this gives per attack. This skill is based on Pillage, with a Salvage Cost Ratio of 0.01/0.02/0.03/0.04. To calculate how much gold you get per attack, the following formula is used: (EventDamage / TargetMaxHP) * SalvageCostRatio * TargetCost. TargetCost is unique for each creep, it's 120 for Treants/Ghouls, 145 for Druids/Necromancers and 210 for Glaive Throwers/Meat Wagons. Let's calculate how much damage Gambler does when this is maxed. Let's assume he does 60 damage (dunno if armor is calculated in this, sorry) to a ranged lane creep. 60 / 300 * 0.04 * 145 = 1.16 gold gained per attack. This implies 2 things; Gambler should go for damage items and should auto-attack instead of last-hitting. BOTH ASSUMPTIONS ARE WRONG. You will mainly use your skills to damage your enemies and Lucky Stars gives the aforementioned gold assuming that the skill is at level 4 and that the creep is ranged (treants/ghouls give much less). With that said, last hit before you max it. When you do, start combining last-hitting with occasional auto-attacks if you want. The rest of the skill is rather simple. It's like Drow's old Ulti, only it has an effect on heroes and buildings. The damage is reduced by armor only. Since 6.54b, red text floats over Gambler when it procs and you can abuse it by quickly and continuously reordering an attack command (a.k.a. attack-stop). THIS DOES MATTER. You will be using this to get gold and bring towers down faster. All In Maverick risks his money in an attempt to land heavy damage on an enemy unit. Deals anywhere from 1 to his gold amount in damage or the maximum damage, whichever is lower. If his All In fails, he loses a random amount of his gold. Level 1 - 30% chance to fail and lose money. 1500 damage cap. Level 2 - 25% chance to fail and lose money. 2000 damage cap. Level 3 - 20% chance to fail and lose money. 2500 damage cap. Cooldown: 35 seconds. Mana Cost: 150/200/275 Comments: The game breaker. Depending on Lady Luck's feelings towards you, this skill can either OMGWTFBBQGG an enemy hero or make you lose some (or even all!) of your precious gold. How it works; it has a 500 casting range. When Gambler uses this, a random number between 1 and his gold amount is generated. If All In succeeds, the number is reduced to the number of the damage cap if it's higher than that (if it's not, it stays as it is). Then, Gambler deals damage equal to that number to the enemy hero. If All In fails, Gambler loses an amount of gold equal to the generated number (that's done before the damage cap check; there is no limit in gold lost). This means that if Gambler has 5k gold and his ultimate is at level 3, he has a 40% chance to do 2500 damage (80% chance to succeed; 50% chance that the generated number is 2500 or higher)! The damage is unreduced. THIS DOES MATTER AND I LOVE IT LOL. You will be using this to (hopefully) instagib heroes. Was so awesome. And he was an INT hero ![]()

Remember that they removed the negative effect of making you take more damage from spells. all in all in theory it seems quite powerful, maybe even imbalanced. 1500 gold, +7 all stats!!!, Ability lasts 4 seconds and has 25 second cooldown. and I can just picture the surprises when the enemy hero/team thinks they're about to kill you, but you pop it and it saves your life, possibly for a counterkill, kind of like mana battery does. and if you're either going to be busy casting abilities or moving anyways, why not be void talisman'd while doing it? ![]() even better, if you're about to be stunned/disabled + focused, imagine how helpful is immunity from autoattacks going to be! ++++++++++++++++++++ and obviously it's useful vs all carries but also makes you immune to all physical spells/abilities, listed here (tested as well) : all of panda's abilities! omnislash (can use it after he starts it, making him waste. casting before makes you an invalid target) devourer's hook & pharaoh's hook goes right through you predator's leap (the scream sound when he casts it should alert you, just be quick about it) Voodoo Jester's ultimate Scout's fast attacks from invis made useless if you cast it fast enough, (his buff is lost by the time void talisman is expired) Demented Shaman's dmg from Healing wave Dark Lady's combo, completely nullifies it as it's time duration is pretty much gone after void talisman expires Wolfman's ult+wolves (considering the extra time buys you time to TP or make it to the safety of allies/base). although, you could also say the same about Madman's ult, sven's ult, etc. Torturer's 2nd skill (the randomly targeting one) Rampage's Charge damage (but still get stunned), as well as Ultimate. you can make him waste + dodge his ULTI if you activate talisman after he targets you but before the ult hits you. Chronosphere, provided you know it's going to come and pre-emptively cast it legionnaire's spin, maybe ulti too forgot to test

If your Jere friend gets a resto stone then that is ALOT of god-mode time. There is no need to buy tank items when you aren't taking any damage! If someone gets a Tablet then the initiating hero doesn't need to buy a portal key. The tablet is cheaper than a portal key and is not restricted to the damage cooldown and gives stats. BTW ToC is a Chronos worst enemy. You can ToC a teammate out of the sphere or the Chronos himself. I like buying ToC on Blacksmith ![]() And I like the idea of using Void on Torturer. I'm always torn on what to buy him after the bloodstone. --- And oh yeah! I want Maverick in HoN ![]()
