you gotta type it every time you start hon if you do it that way though. easier to just go to your config file (my documents>heroes of newerth>game>startup.cfg) and put: SetSave "cg_useNewShop2" "false"

The only problem with the new item shop is that it doesn't have a button to make it permanently switch back to the old shop. Its great for new players but for people who are familiar with the game its just a hindrance. Until that is implemented I guess we just have to use cg_usenewshop2 false. I guess just manually changing the cfg file works too but it would be nice if they just put in an official fix.

The issue with the cg_usenewshop2 false is that if you try to buy from the sideshop or secret shop, it doesn't auto-open it from what I can tell.

The new shop wouldn't be such an issue if they didn't make the thing so big. It's ok in LoL where the shop takes up the whole screen because you can only buy in base which generally means you aren't fighting. But in HoN, it's a big issue when you can buy in lane and courier yourself the items. Adding a transparency slider doesn't fix this at all - it needs an icon scaling slider if they wanted to do this.

Edit: Oh, and buying items with right click is also a bad change.

Why are people upset about secret shops not auto opening. I always wished I could make them not auto open because they always screwed up my jukes or ganks from shop

Oh, this is a good opportunity to try this game out now. Back when the beta was on, I wasn't playing DotA either, so didn't really care - but always wanted to try this game out with TLers too (maybe a few of you remember me from the GGC TL DotA clan, I don't know).

Gonna contact you guys ingame for the next few days after the client finishes downloading. I already read up on all the heroes and most items (HoNcast really garnered my interest), but I heard actually buying and combining them works a bit differently than in DotA. Anyone care to guide me around a little? I learn pretty fast and I consider myself to be an 'ok' player (Been playing DotA on and off for at least 4 years by now).
