when alch was first put in he wasnt that great because 1. his stun was different 2. he didnt get movespeed from his ult, once movespeed came in his ult actually became good, i remember playing him the version after that tweak and thinking how ridiculously good alch was (even with the old stun), i used to like playing with new heroes that were implemented underpowered back then and alch was one of the hardest to play with along with huskar

His the movespeed is good but then i'm pretty sure the +HP from his ult + all the regen is what makes it good (Lets not forget about how he gets a shorter animation when he ults too :o) I don't know what was wrong with his old stun tbh
It was a 5 second channel with like humongo cast range and tracked the hero while alch charged the stun, 5 seconds is a lot of time to catch up to whoever you use the stun on (kinda like mirana arrow)

He wasn't implemented underpowered, he was implemented broken (no limit on Greed wut?) then stereotypically overnerfed. I remember when he first came out, the first IH I played with him involved Skadi/Heart/Radiance/Buriza in like 40-50 mins. The player said he had enough to pick up whatever else he wanted.
