btw anyone try a pure mage build? i really want to
Pure mage won't work. Occasionally late game you'll run into enemies with 2k hp & multiple armor/hp spell (can't remember name now). After you waste all your spells they'll still be full hp/armor. You'll have to have a weapon.

hmm yeah i will try the charge attack if i ever get there anyway one thing i've noticed that may help someone:
computers only use their regen items (pots/rejuvenate/regenerate, etc.) when they're below 50% of their respective bottle. so they wont use an armor pot unless they're below 50% armor, no health pot unless they're below 50% health etc. health takes precedence over armor, meaning if you have a thing that heals both health and armor (such as rejuvenate), then they wont use it unless they're below 50% health. moreover, it's the first thing they do once they hit <50% mark.
oh yeah, and they use the strongest one they got first (so if they have a max hp pot and a medium hp pot, they will use the max hp pot first)
since im writing stuff, might as well add this. if you've seen computers heal armor for 0 once you killed all their armor, it's because they used a pot (since they were below 50%) that healed armor based on how much armor they have left (which is what every potion except the full armor potion does). so they had 0 armor, and they healed 0 armor. neat-o
oh and i just killed the archangel. yay. my hands are still shaking (wtf 900 dmg sword and 800dmg bow??)i got so lucky he was retarded. he hit twice with his sowrd for a total of like 1500 dmg (about 650 from each hit and a 200poison(?) proc in between). i healed up, he started casting adulation and hten being generally stupid and iwon ;D
...
i'm so gonna kill myself next tournament>_<

There wasn't a mathematical formula but these were my "rules": -try to raise Agi asap -try to get enough Agi to use the next weapon (I mostly skipped 1 weapon) -try to raise Def/Vit right before the tournament -put points into stamina if I'm spending a lot of turns recovering
After I got 60 Agi, I went 10 Magicka to get WW, then started raising Att/Def/Vit. It's really up to you after you get 60 Agi asap since you'll be extremely powerful no matter what you raise until near the end. The hardest part is getting to 60 Agi safely. You've pretty much won the game after 60 Agi.
Strat is pretty simple: whirlwind, whirlwind, and whirlwind Occasionally, I'd miss all my whirlwinds (near the end), in which case I'll just jump and start bombarding with my arrows. If I used all my 30~ arrows, I was prepared to use my sword, but fortunately, I was never forced to use my sword. I had whirlwind in all my slots until I got my last one, where I put full armour oil.
Oh, and there's a bow that doesn't work with the whirlwind glitch(?). Those levels were slow

Yeah, 45-54 (agility) is depressing because of no ww with bow.
I got WW quick (lvl 15? ish?) then it was basically 3 agi/1 att each level (I like to have high accuracy).
My slots right now (lvl 37) full armor pot, ghost strike (in case I need a hit from a ways away with no arrows), 3x ww.
|
Only 15 and 45 will not work. 48 and 51 are non-existent even though they have a picture of it. 54 will work with WW.
Oh, if anyone has trouble with an AGI build, try out the guide I put up and tell me how it goes. I might have made some mistakes in it.
Edit: made some changes to guide, seems you can only lvl up twice before fighting Styloinus, so you only get +6 AGI instead of +9 AGI. This means you will be using a 18 AGI bow, which should be enough to finish off Styloinus by the 10th arrow unless you got some unlucky rolls or didn't get that +3 ATK.
Might also be a mistake with DEF = ATK being 80% hit chance, I just think thats what my hit % was on my doppelganger.

I think mage could work if done right. I started with a charisma build then after about 42 charisma and 12 energy i switched to pure magik. I was lvl 28 before i died in a tourny but that was because I messed up, and even then he was only one hit away from dieing.
It works great too because I got about 25% off of spell costs which helped me alot. I actually ended with something like 42 char, 12, energy, 5 def (events), 4 vit, and 56 magik. If i would have gotten through the tourney, I had enough for the top spell too and I would have 60 magik;( O well.

Hm, I guess a MAG build might work if you have 5 molten deaths and hopefully hit the high end of 800 (800*5 = 4000) dmg all the time. Later on many opponents carry full armor restores (usually 1, sometimes 2) and the rejuvenation might prove to be annoying too. If you hit the high end dmg you will probably win, if not...uh..hope for good luck. However the biggest problem might be the emperor. He has no trouble at all catching up to you with 50 AGI. If you don't get your high 800's dmg from molten death you'll have to melee him with...1 ATK point vs his 50 DEF and 900 Max Dmg.
Frankly I don't remember if the emperor has any healing spells, could someone confirm what spells the emperor has?
Edit: Ok refined my guide, did a quick play through without too much trouble. When fighting Marksman Dantus a 10 def is required if you want to dodge some of his arrow shots. You both will actually be using the same bow, only difference is you have the higher ATK. Marksman Dantus doesn't actually use the right bow for his respective AGI of 16.

I did: 4 strength 60 agility 80 attack 4 stamina 20 magicka rest into defense strong fire enchant on bow 1 gale, 1 max armor, 4 whirlwind

Ah just wanted to apologize, I remembered the level of bows wrong. I just replayed up to wizard sangan with 42 AGI. It was actually 48 and 51 which are non existant bows, 54 works with WW.
Congrats on winning Chalzy.

Thanks Vushe, your guide helped a lot in the beginning. I was having trouble before getting past the first boss with the agility build. After that it gets pretty easy. Just keep your attack high and use whirlwind with the bow a few times, kills everything.
|
I tried the agility build 3 or 4 times. Used the guides here. Never got past the Butcher.
|
I got past butcher first time without guides on agil. Its all about not relying too much on the bow, and have that 6 agil sword with some good atk/defence.
|
Eh, thats strange. Were you using Normal Attacks after you had run out of ammo for your sligshot? With 4 STR and a lvl 6 AGI sword you should be dealing 20's dmg to the butcher. Did you also jump back whenever your HP dipped below 40, and rested till it was back up to 40 again? If you keep jumping back till you are below 60 Stamina you can rest again. Butcher should have like a 50% hit rate vs your 96% Normal Attack with 5 DEF and 14 ATK.
Here's another build if you are still having trouble, its a bit riskier, but you get a little more money to spend on armor. Restart or Load up the game (important), use the same stat distribution as before. This time buy yourself the best boot. Now buy a dagger (lvl 3 AGI sword) and go to the magic shop. Enchant strong your dagger. Now the reason I said to restart/load is that there is a bug where you can get a free strong enchant for a dagger or rusty dagger. Only those two items. Now go fight in duels vs people with only 0 -> 3 armor. Buy a slingshot ASAP so you don't have to melee in duels, then grab all the armor you can. When you fight the butcher you now have some more armour, probably in the 40's area and a dagger that can deal an extra 9 dmg on top of your usual 10 Normal Attack dmg. The elemental damage will also stop the butcher from retaliating, though some luck is involved for when the elemental damage comes out.
Oh and for my first victory I had only 1 STR and killed the butcher with a rusty dagger lmfao (thats just how suicidal my build was). I had 10 HP left, it was so close a battle.

so it begins.. im fighting myself Taunt has a 33% chance of working edit: make that the stated chance. the actual chance is much much much lower. im estimating like 5-10% we're both sporting 1550 armor, and a 1-3 dagger also 4 full armor pots
might be done in a day or two zzzzzzz
update: well this wasn't so bad did take a while tho.. i melee'd him for a long ass time to knock off his armor to about 600, so his pots healed him for less, then gale'd him away and taunted him to death >_>; lvl 50 here i come!
|
Yeah i did all that Vushe, the hp regeneration the dodging and stuff, i had the 6 agi sword, but he blocked me id say more than 50% of the time and the times he didnt block me when i was doing charge, the sword made ridiculously low damege every time. So eventualy the fucker kills me with his 40 damege. Don't know might try out your other build some other time im just not in the mood for agi build now
|
Oh that is very strange then, I've tried that build several times against the butcher and I've always won with little trouble, except that one time when I didn't level up during the tournament for m 3 ATK 1 DEF. One time I got only 15 dmg done to me before he was dead.
I do find it odd how he would dodge 96% hit rate Normal Attacks...

Whee
1 str (I had 4, lost 3 from hurting my back in an event >o) 62 agi (had 60, got 2 from some event) 69 att 37 def 30 vit 1 char 4 stam (I added 1 stamina earlier on, then got 2 from an event) 10 mag (had I think 5x whirlwind, other was a health potion which I never used)
I lost two duels where they got a lucky hit. The emperor was really easy, he didn't even hit me once (I just mass whirlwinded him to death with my bow). The Son of _____ boss (3rd boss) was hardest for me. I had really bad luck on my arrows, and had to do a lot of melee damage. Also even though I had about 55% chance to hit with charge IIRC, I still missed 4 times in a row with it. At one point he was down to 3 life, and I was down to ~20 (I backed off in case I missed). Then he managed to climb back up to 50 again (which goes to show how long the fight went on, since the computer rarely rested). I just couldn't hit him without getting hit first since charge kept missing (I had about 90 max life, so after 1 hit I had to back off)
Apart from that, I came closest to losing to some anonymous guy in one of the tournaments. We were both potentially one arrow from dead, but mine hit him luckily.

I got killed in the last tourney by 6 !!!! consecutive arrow hits + frost proc That was so retarded I immediately wanted to uninstall the game- then I realized...

Nice
That is unfortunate Monsen. Full armor restores didn't help?
