i personally like to take out high tier gyms. =) however, the lowest mon in it now is a 1916 gyarados. i am at third place with a 1973 snorlax. the highest two mons are 2615 and 2743 dragonites.
instinct just took out the other two gyms next to my office, but they are only 2-3 tier and are constantly changing (one is next to a train station, and changes every time a train comes in basically).
i am excited to see ours go up to tier 10 because i hear it spawns rares more frequently although im not sure thats confirmed.

Well, after just a week of trying to play this game, my phone broke (Xperia Z 6603). The phone has known overheating issues fin the past but it never had any with mine. But since this game needed GPS, this is the first time I actually ran both mobile data and gps simultaneously at 30minutes to 1 hour intervals (max but rarely).
Phone now just dies even when gps is off and just suring using mobile, or when I call for maybe 5 minutes. But it isn't as hot as it usually gets before. So now I believe it is a hardware issue already.
So I guess, if your phone is known to have overheating issues, try to just play it in spurts of 15 minutes. =)

Having alot of fun with the game since it was released 1 week ago. Hopefully they release updates constantly to keep people interested.

Dust is easy, GL getting the candy though

Does anyone know how a nest works? As I'm really not sure if i'm doing this the right way or is that even a nest location.
My experience as follows. Vulphix nest in SG.
Nest area is roughly a circle with r=75. Once you catch 1, another will spawn in the vicinity. Thus by walking around the edge of the circle, we will see the next spawn within 15 seconds. Standing still will not work most of the time due to the spawn area being bigger than your own internal radius of r=50m. Much walking has been done.

I was at the ferry terminal in toronto for a few hours yesterday, pretty great place for water pokemon
I found about 50 magikcarp, 7 dratinis, a vaporean, squirtle, bulbasaur, lots of slowpoke/poliwag/pidgeys/weedles/caterpillars. Last week I found my dragonite there too

I don't think it's complicated or anything, basically it's an area that will consistently spawn a pokemon of an otherwise rare-ish type using the same spawning rules as everywhere else. We have a Vulpix nest here and it's a fairly large area, but has maybe 15-20 spawns where Vulpix are not at all available outside of the nest area. You need to walk around simply because the specific spawn spots are still only 1/hr or 2/hr.
You also can know/tell it's a nest because the average IVs from the nest will be lower than 50% (nest pokemon are like the opposite of hatched pokemon and often have low IVs).
There are also areas that consistently spawn something, but aren't a nest. I have a Diglett spot and a Clefairy spot near me where I can reliable catch them when they're otherwise tough to find. But it's not a nest, they have normal IVs and there's only a few set spawns of them.

seems good enough to me. i expected it to be much lower. its not like charizard is going to be a supporting character for your gym fights so why the hell not. i dont see the point in powering it up though. its not top ten for gym fights, or defense.

Lvl 18 now. Just running around randomly and catching everything I can find. Haven't read any guides or anything or used any of my candy or dust because I have no clue what to level lol. I have a 958 snorlax, i have no idea if i should level it or not.
