Well I applied the day OW was announced. Never got invited to any form of beta at any point in time.
Also it appears as if this wawe of invites was heavily skewed towards people from NA (4-5 times more likely to be invited according to a survey).

Probably to give their scene the much needed headstart

I also applied the first day, and got my first beta invite today.
And yes i read that EU people only had 15 minutes of invites while NA had almost all day.

Overwatch Twitter said that it was a miscommunication, flagging started at the same time for everyone.

Well Blizzard said they started at the same time, and I don't think they are lying. But for some reason they just flagged much fewer EU accounts than NA accounts.
This survey points a pretty convincing picture. More NA people who responded (at this timezone) got into the beta than people from EU. So unless some (alot) of people are lying when giving responses, this is pretty insane.

Don't get me wrong, im just repeating what i have been told, i did see the Overwatch twitter message.
Either way it does seem a lot less EU players did get in, however ill wait some more hours before i judge because there is still many at work and were sleeping when the invites took place.

Wait, that survey doesn't quite say that way more NA accounts are flagged, it says that there are a lot more people from the EU that didn't get in:

There's only a 9% difference between NA and EU in the first graph (granted, that means EU has only 2/3 of the numbers that NA has), while the striking difference comes from how many people in the EU report not getting in (76% of all respondents; more people in absolute numbers than reported getting into any region). I'd wager this is mostly due to the fact that most people that took the survey were from the EU.

You compare them to each other obviously, which gives us the percentage: 71% of NA respondent got in. 25% of EU respondants got in.
So either the respondants are lying or EU got fucked.

Less EU invites then US can be simple variance but I can also certainly see it being real.
Are there separate US and EU beta servers?
Edit: With separate servers there isn't really a reason why they would invite less Euros but I'm willing to write it up to the limited outreach of a random amateur internet survey.
The huge amount of people saying they were not invited is meaningless. You have to realize that they will have 10's of millions of signups. The vast vast majority of people is never going to get in the closed beta.

Yes

Ofc that 2nd graph means something, no one ever said there was exactly same amount of players with beta registration in EU and NA, it just says there are currently more players in EU who dont have access to beta (whether its because EU got less players in the beta or because there are a lot more players trying to get into beta from EU we dont really know).

Ehh... No it is with a certainty of 99.999% not variance (ok i haven't done the math but its up there). Again this is 71% to 25%!

Sorry but your going to be very hard pressed to persuade anyone who knows anything about statistics that any real conclusions can be drawn from this.

I don't believe anything that's just a random survey like that. There's no evidence that every person that potentially could have gotten beta access responded in either case. No evidence of methodology, nothing. It's just pure internet bullshit masking as science. Not to mention there being a fucking TROLL OPTION you could pick, which further invalidates it.
I don't see why it's even a big deal, they're allowed to test what they want to test how they test it, trust the dev team.
|
There being a troll options doesn't invalidate it, it's actually a pretty common way to filter out junk responses in surveys.

Except that those people that picked the troll option would have selected one of the tested options in the absence of a troll option, making the numbers skewed. For all we know, 100% NA that didn't get in picked the troll option.
Again, never use a stupid internet poll as a basis for a fact.

I've never trusted surveys and never will... especially on the internet! It's all nonsense....73.6% of all statistics are made up...
“There are three kinds of lies: lies, damn lies and statistics.” is a famous quote by Mark Twain and even that could be made up....because the source is...the internet.. People make up so called "facts", just for the sake of winning an arguement, even though they know they're 100% wrong.

overwatch servers are exploding. i'm stuck on main page with "rejoin match" but cannot connect to server lol...
|
If you're from EU you need to change server to Americas then you will automaticly be changed to EU.
|
Internet surveys continue to be garbage. Nothing has changed. And why is this a thing? Unless someone is trying to argue “real fans” deserve beta access? Which just reminds me when people were salty about not getting into the heart stone beta.
