Looks like I will be running yomidra for it.
I'd assume that JP has a significantly higher player population compared to NA version. If I can make 20% I'll be happy since I need a bubpy, but don't need any woodpys I guess.

ya since its percentiles im guessing big player pool would help? maybe? not sure
maybe NA is worse who knows running first couple floors of endless trying to solve as fast as I can and its not looking pretty T_T

Depending on how the time and combos are weighted it might work in my favor. When I'm playing I usually go quickly but end up with around 4-5 combos on average rather than taking the time to really plan out my boards to get 6+ consistently unless I'm on a floor where 5 just won't cut it. We'll have to see how this one goes.

How's everyone planning on doing the 5x4 normal descends? I'm guessing row leads will work best?

Hera Ur is easy enough that can brute force with non conditional other than green I think.
If everything else fail there is always odin/ama

Sumire works pretty well
I think top would be ShivaDra and YomiDra

imma try dmeta
qq didnt do so well on ranking dungeon cant get to result screen though keep getting a connection error anyone else having issue?

rip servers
My first run went horribly Hit 6 combos on Vulcan lol

5x4 dungeons... YomiDra is king for those.
Didn't get a chance to try ranking dungeon yet. I'm in Germany on vacation so my timing is all messed up. I expect most serious players will have no issue getting top 10 percent. Most people that play any game are just... Not amazing lol.

How are you guys dealing with the 2nd floor of the ranking dungeon, or are you just using def reduction / poison ?

I'm just going to use a poison for it. Even a 75 percent defense reduction still means you need an ass load of damage to Pierce defense, 100 percent is too long a cd for most teams, and Ra is a bad option due to penalties.
So poison is the only decent option.

But poison also gets a penalty, no ? You're not matching orbs to kill. Poison does it for you.

The penalty should only apply if you deal damage without moving orbs like direct damage or orb refresh.

As long as you match orbs manually you don't get penalized. Even if the poison is what did the damage to kill you still had a turn with combos that you manually played.
So the only thing that get penalized that I know of are things like direct damage piercing skills like Ra (assuming you kill the mobs) and those 100x or 200x damage dealing actives that kill without you moving any orbs. Everything else should be fair game.

well, the rules say "When battles are cleared through methods such as activating an active skill and without directly moving orbs, points will be deducted from the score. *Even if enemies are defeated by combos, if it results from an activation of a skill such as Orb Refresh, points will still be deducted."
it kinda seems weird to have points deducted for using orb changers, but not for poison.

It's not orb changers it's specifically orb refresh and the like.
Orb refresh replaces your entire board and sky falls in a new one. These sky falls can set off combos which, if enough or the right ones happen, can have your team kill the floor and counts as a turn. It's a penalty because you didn't manually move any orbs... A skill did it for you.
Orb changing doesn't set off combos and poison doesn't work until your turn is actually over. You can tell because your shield counter will go down even if you technically one shot the room. Your turn ends and then the poison ticks afterward so you shouldn't be penalized for using it.

Is there any way to emulate this (the online play) on PC? I'm unable to download it from the Android PlayStore in my country (Australia) and I am unable to root my phone either. Is there anything else I can do to play?

I am also not from a country that has it available in the android playstore, but you can play by manually downloading the install file. rooting is not needed.
you should be able to install the game through this link -- > https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6pAAbf3XnZjc1pFaU9FWVZYWlE/view
