I can run this all maxed out if I turn on Static FidelityFX CAS and put it in 80, instead of medium/high with that option turned completely off, both with smooth FPS... although I'm not sure how high.
Here are my specs: + Show Spoiler +
How do you guys turn on FPS counters in this game? I tried both through NXZT CAM overlay and GeForce Experience overlay and I cannot get them to work in-game... I don't think GOG has an in-built feature for showing FPS in-game like steam does?
Anyway, the input lag is hella annoying, but I guess it's not the graphics settings at least. Tried both lowest settings and now maxed and it's still there. Kinda feels like a console port, to be very honest. The keyboard/mouse functionality feels like it was done with 2nd place in mind, after a controller. Also the no-toggle options for shift (hacking) and gun zoom (right mouse button) feel like a dead giveway, or a big oversight.
Can we get some pictures of our mains going? I wanna see peoples' creations :D

You can toggle hacking with caps lock instead of tab to hold.

Cheers, that's actually helping.

Pretty much even 3080s are struggling to do rtx ultra without dls performance ultra (which is blurry) at 60fps.
The sweet spot seems for 1440p seems to he rtx medium and dlss bslanced or performance 1

I rather have a stable framerate at 60 FPS than max details/ effects/ whatnot TBH.
5 more hours at work, than download and then I can finally start as well :D

Don't think a patch will improve things, also some PC players are saying this is the new Crysis.

The irony is the game is advertised as a PS4(and w/e xbox it is) and they delayed the game for a month to make it playable. I don't know, compared to Horizon Zero Dawn or TLOU2... something's not right.

First impression: it didn't blow me away so far.

![[image loading]](https://i.imgur.com/qfTrBTK.png) This is my character but I hate the mustache color. And I painted my nails black with flames. Gonna start the game over, create a new character, and then finish out the corpo questline.
Edit: I think I was at....level 5 or 6? I didn't pay attention after I got to the title card.

What saddens me is that devs probably raised a ton of red flags for the current gen and management did not have the balls to say "fuck it, this is not gonna work, let's give people their preorder money back and advise to go PC / next gen" and went "go crunch more" instead

Played all afternoon and I LOVE it. Really no reservations it's just so great. I am completely lost in the world of night city.
Anyone know where I can find the photos from photo mode? I keep taking picture but I can't figure out where to find them. Never mind found them under Pictures.

Getting my PS4 copy to play on my PS5 sometime today, but I may wait until I'm off work tomorrow so I can deep dive. Maybe there'll be a patch in the meantime as well
|
I wouldn't expect another patch for a week at the earliest. Like someone up in the thread said, some people have data caps. Most likely blew it one the first couple patches lol.
I started my character over. Will probably explore the city a bit more before rushing through to the title card again since I know what happens up until that moment. Going to explore the city as much as I can before going further. I can see me getting deep into this today with a break tomorrow.

I have an AMD Ryzen 3600, 16GB of RAM, a 3070, and a 1440p monitor. I just did some testing in the busiest and least fps area I've come across in the game so far.
With everything on absolute minimum, RT off, and DLSS off I had 59 fps. With DLSS on auto or quality I had 63 fps.
With everything on ultra, including RT on ultra, it dropped to 40 fps.
With everything on ultra, but RT on minimum, it went to 44 fps.
With everything on ultra, but RT off, it went to 59 fps.
Hmmmmm...

Well I'm level 6 now, and I feel more lost than ever. Combat is whacky, as in hectic. Meatbags you can pump full of lead and you're good, but when you're facing more mechanized enemies or netrunners I kinda go full weeb and just rush them with my katana because bullets don't really do much... Also, some enemies shock me or set me on fire without any line of sight, when I am in cover which I find very weird? Playing on hard, the NPCs also have very good accuracy at range, but when you charge at them, they kinda panic blindfire and miss like 75% of the shots? Maybe it's just the riffraff of the gangs that does this.
edit to elaborate a little more: I'm not sure if this type of combat is honestly the best for this type of RPG. I think slower, more methodical maybe even cover based combat ala Mass Effect 2 or Deus Ex remakes would fit better?
I chose Nomad backstory because I kinda liked the backstory of Night City feeling alien to me, exploring it for the first time along with my character :^)
This is what I look like in-game: + Show Spoiler +

I'm blown away so far. But I also love the themes. Cyberpunk, sci-fi, transhumanism, you name it. It's right down my alley. Night City looks absolutely gorgeous. It runs fine on my PC (8700k, 1070, 16 GB, 1080p resolution). Inside I even have >100 FPS, in fights the framerate tanks significantly, but it's still fine. I'm gonna fiddle with some settings tomorrow to squeeze out a few more FPS.
But overall, I'm very impressed. No major bugs after I've updated my drivers. Minor glitches, but nothing bad. I also love the voice acting of the female V. Cool, slick, confident.
Combat seems to be the weakness right now. Enemies are bullet sponges, but I've read that it gets better after some level ups. Might be one of those games which become laughably easy after some point. I'm playing mostly for the story, so I'm not really interested in exploiting all the mechanics. Melee feels great, SMGs feel shitty. But it's not a FPS, it's a first person RPG. As long as combat doesn't get in the way, I'm fine.

I'm feeling remorse over my spec. I WANT to try stealth/hacking but at some point after maybe 1 or 2 takedowns I get impatient every single fight and end up shooting everything, so my assault ends up levelling significantly faster than my stealth. It's just easier to clear out all the random gangs that way. Might end up restarting since I'm probably only 2 hours in, and I could try starting corpo instead this time.

You 100 percent want to have 5 to 6 intelligence as soon as possible and power or strength is an excellent stat to get to 8.
I'm really likening the guns. The fact that smgs rifles and machine guns all take from rifle ammo is a bit questionable and sniper rifles are woefully underpowered for where I'm at but shotguns have an excellent progression of being super strong and then garbage when you get the next teir. Got a lot more borderlands vibes then I was expecting but it feels like an actual development from that.
It seems like gameplay is a lot more streamlined to get into the wearhouse infiltration. There is an extremely clear path to just go in like Rambo but stealthy routes are also really clear on where to start. You lose some exploitation and exploration but it's a different flavor on the genre.
And that's my take at the moment. It's not going to bring peace in our time and doesnt do anything brand new but it does a lot of things other games did better or at least differently.

The first sniper rifle you can find, or at least i could find (it's a 90dps one) hits for >1000 headshots on charged shots. Little arse to aim it because it starts shaking when charging (can be specced away), but sniper rifles are by far the most powerful weapon right after shotguns.
