Thats just not my thing, i can live with having to grind for a new class for a few dozent hours like in league. But selling power and make buying with ingame currency really painful is too much for me. ugh that does sound much worse.

I dont feel like i can just play and enjoy myself like in other free to play games like League of Legends. In this game i feel pressure to pay money every time i finish a mission. I feel it's the opposite. In LoL you can't get access to certain heroes that are essential to the current metagame instantly. Given it's a PvP game, this is important. Also requiring you to be lvl 30 to be truly competitive in a PvP setting is forcing the issue of paying to play to hardcore newbies trying to play with their friends that have been playing for a while. (note that both our arguments are irrelevant to the casual, as they don't care about getting everything asap) One of the main reason I love Dota 2 over LoL is the fact that every hero is available to me at the beginning, allowing me to bring friends reasonably experience with Dota 1 and HoN, and even LoL into the game immediately. I couldn't do this with LoL because of all the leveling up that's required. This problem is in all games with a level up system, but in Warframes, which is PvE centered, the problem is much less impeding to the entertainment factor. Friends can "run" you through levels to get you fast exp if you really want to rush to their level. Not possible in LoL. But selling power and make buying with ingame currency really painful is too much for me. I disagree. I found that most things you don't have to spend money for. If you want instant gratification you can buy stuff, but like they said on their website, most of the stuff you have to find during missions and is not available in the shop. One example is a rare long sword blueprint I picked up yesterday. I looked on the store and nothing of the sort was found. Also, talking about blueprints, I like the idea, and EVERYTHING except instant gratification items like instant max level weapons (seiously, where's the fun in that...just makes the game boring imo) minus 1-2 items that aren't even that strong (like the fang dual wield swords) can be made with blueprints, which to me translates to end game equality between paying and non-paying players. It's a good way to keep you invested in the game (from a development standpoint) and every single material you need to craft them can be found during missions. Your expectation from a free to play game is way too high. Even monthly subscription and initial purchase games have longer grind times. Take a look at GW2 or WoW. Look at Planetside 2 or Global Agenda. Those are F2P games that makes you feel like pay to win. Nearly 1/2 the stuff there is impossible to obtain with in game currency. This game, 95% is obtainable over (a reasonable amount of) time with in game currency. I love the idea (business and F2P development standpoint) of making everything obtainable for free over time, but giving the option of instant gratification via real money currency. Hope they change this or add a setting to modify intensity.

If anyone is just starting I'd advise mainly leveling your pistol and getting the either the sword or your shotgun (whichever comes first). The burst-fire rifle is good, but the shotgun is just amazingly powerful especially with mods. The machine pistol is fun, but your starting one is nothing to sneeze at.

Like some posters have said, it's possible to get pretty much everything from just playing/grinding areas. The only (very annoying) exception to this is Orokin catalysts and reactors which are disgustingly rare considering how good they are (doubling the mod potential of any given warframe/weapon). But it IS possible to get them if you play enough. Or alternatively, they're relatively cheap to buy via platinum (real money). That being said, I find the game quite enjoyable to play for shorter stretches at a time. The controls and overall responsiveness are nice and there is a pretty nice selection of weapons/warframes that are fairly unique from each other. In game name is Conquest101. 1) It's extremely fun....in groups. Solo is pretty boring and the social aspect does not exist, just like battlenet 2.0. Take note tho, this game is basically P2P connection. Your game is hosted on the group leader's computer/network. This leads to many instances of laggyness. For example: If that guy is from US and your from SG(me), dont expect to have a good game. Lag WILL be insane. Another issue is sometimes your game clients just wont be able to connect to each other. I have this friend who is unable to connect to me or my other friends sometimes, without any reasons. He has his ports opened etc and it still wont work right. 2) The grind is pretty fun. I actually enjoy this non-instant gratification system of buying blueprints & making things from them from resources gathered from missions. 3) Gameplay wise, from what i can see (Rank30 Volt), the game is pretty balanced at my level, but i've heard stories of how shotguns/pistols outperform rifles because of how much better their mods are compared to rifles. I personally have only played rifles and i find the damage adequate(provided you aim for the weak points like you should) Mods wise, this game needs to better explain how the things work. For example, what the hell is multishot? what does it do? How are damage calculated? Elemental damage? I had to do lots of research on forums & warframe wiki to find out exactly what does what. I can see why this game is in Beta, there's lots of things to be done, but if you treat this as a grind & play MMORPS(kinda like Diablo 3), and just play on this game is worth it. The sense of satisfaction when you finally start crafting your item/warframe after farming so long, is great. I give this game 8/10. Sure there's plenty of things to improve, but it has a great start imo. I can see myself playing this game in absence of a true grinding game like Diablo2....and i like shooting things

If you want huge variety, different colours etc then yes, paying money is necessary. The game itself is huge fun co-op and decent fun solo. Trying to stealth through levels feels MGSish. This is the best third person shooter I have played hands down, I would highly recommend at least trying this for anyone that enjoys co-op. 9/10. edit: Netcoding in this game is some of the best I have seen as well. Playable for me with american host while torrenting gg.

Seems like it's going to suck ass trying to build the Trinity frame... blew my first 25k on it thinking I could use materials I had been collecting to build it. Turns out the wiki says I have to fight my way to Earth, beat the boss multiple times to collect all the pieces, build those pieces, use said pieces to build my frame. You'll get money fairly fast don't worry about that. Might take awhile to get the frame pieces though, I have been trying to get Loki pieces for awhile now and only have 1/3 T.T

1) Aim for weakspots:- Grindeer (head/face), Corpus Machines(basically the joint connecting the 2 legs, the head is a gun turret), Corpus Crewmember (body, unless you have Armor Piercing then go for the head).....Infested Dogs go for the face/snout, rest of infested go for the right knee(the left when its facing you)...there's a Red eye at the knee. Shoot it. 2) Look at the modifications. Top right shows its Polarity(type), left will have a slot that indicates the card level...and the right side number refers to how many modification slots it takes to use that mod. Increasing the card level will increase the amount of modification slots required to use it. 3) Fastest way to increase weapon damage is to get max Armor Piercing & max Multi hit. Those 2 should be able to clear most things that you face without costing too much.

Slide canceling: While sprinting you can slide by hitting the crouch key (ctrl by default I believe). At the start of the slide you maintain your sprint speed (actually might be a little faster) for awhile before you start to slow down. So by sliding for brief bursts while sprinting you can maintain full sprint speed while regening stamina. Basically lets you sprint forever without need for stamina increase/regen mods. Corpus laser doors: Most annoying things EVER. However, you can go right through them with various charge abilities (slash dash, et. all) and you can actually just sprint slide right through them as well. Infested swarms: I know I had some trouble with getting swamped by infested when I was first starting out. Especially if playing solo. Against most infested, jumping on a large enough crate or other type of platform completely neuters them. Even the ancients generally won't attack you (depending on the height/positioning). So you can just sit up there and blast away.

I think that's the most satisfying feeling I've ever experienced in a game! Agreed, the combat elements in this game do feel very satisfying, watching people go flying then get pinned to walls by bow or bolter and the feedback of eviscerating people/infested with swords and axes is great xD I do feel as though the parkour elements could use a bit more work though, particularly wall running. Anyone know where to get crits reliably on the ancients? I read to aim for knees/arms but it seems sporadic at best.

Anyone know where to get crits reliably on the ancients? I read to aim for knees/arms but it seems sporadic at best. Crits are crits(yellow dmg)...weak spots are weak spots(double your shot damage). Their two different things. Each gun/weapon has its inbuilt crit %, which can only be modified by crit chance modification cards...which are pretty weak btw. Example:- a gun that has 5% base crit rate...getting a +60% crit rate means its only 5 + (0.6*5) % making it one of the weakest damage increasing mod out there. Weak spots are places where dmg itself is mutiplied by a %...example off the top of my head i remember Corpus Crewmembers having +2000% dmg to Armor Piercing on their head. Because of how Corpus Crewmembers having full immunity to Normal damage, this +2000% to AP dmg is actually still fair. Ancients weakspot are still their knees. Its funny when you have a Paris(bow) user in your party though, the skyrim "arrow to the knee" jokes still doesnt get old hahaha. Especially if you manage to pin a Ancient to the wall with a arrow to the knee Another ancient weak spot is using charged melee attacks, those are still pretty effective against the ancients because charged melee attacks go through armor....or use Fire Elements, those things does extra damage to Infected. Personally my Boltor has max AP & multi shot, with 5/10 Serration(no $$) and a basic Freeze/Fire Rate/Crit chance mod is pretty darn powerful against anything in the game. I love my damage, just that how I wish that my gun was actually usable past mid range compared to Bratons lol.

If you have any piercing I think you can headshot them, which I thought was their main weak spot until I took my piercing off my Lex and was no longer using one clip per ancient. Otherwise aim for the eye on their knee (a lot easier if you use ironsights). This is less convenient if you're trying to abuse jumping on crates than the head. Or just get a shotgun and load it up with armor pen and elemental damage to rip them apart-cold damage is the mortal enemy of the ancients.
