I just dug up an old game I used to play. I had so much fun with Ignition back when it was still new. For those who don't know it: It's a really cute racing game that is easy to learn and really a lot of fun.
I used to play Ignition with a mate on the same keyboard when i was 13-14. I love(d) that game, but I lost the CD so we had to stop. Now I can try again!
U.F.O. Enemy Unknown is an all time classic. That game was so addicting...
Micro Machines 2 was fun too. Privateer, Wing Commander, X-Wing, Tie-Fighter, I loved all Space Shooters (or Simulations). Freespace as well... the list goes on and on.
holy shit yes ignition was awesome thank you for this
I was really good too, played on multiplayer with at least 5 different people who had it at home and played lots and I beat them all and I also had better best times everywhere than they did wooo :D
mirror mode was kinda hard tho at least after having played exclusively non-mirror for a long time.
you need to beat mirror to get the ignition. if you don't have it your best times are about 30 secs slower than mine. the whole game starts over when you get it and start playing time trial only vs your ghost.
yeah ive beat mirror and all my best times are obviously with the ignition car but it was hard to adjust to mirror when I first did it. always turning the opposite direction etc. t.t
I don't have my old ignition so I don't know my besttimes. (I just played one championship round after downloading it last night and I sucked. ) I think you have me slightly beat on every map except tokyo bullet tho. (that was the map I played the most anyway. )
jesus christ this is so much fun, i can hardly stop playing :D gotta love the map designs, so cool.. only weird thing is, some of the cars just SUCK, and you can just decide to choose another? seems a bit weird to me
you can't during the championship. I used the Enforcer to beat all modes this time. It can be done with almost all cars, the only track that's really hard with the not so fast cars is Tokyo Bullet.
well... theres one car with almost purely bad stats except grip, dont remember exactly what its called.. but anyway its horrible and i cant figure out how to use it decently :F
*slightly off-topic but I used to love Heroes of Might and Magic 2. None of the other ones really, but that one was definately an old school favorite of mine
I just won the mirror championship again I played that game so often back then. I'm always using the newest car, Monster and Veg as soon as available. Veg is a bitch though. No grip at all
Anybody getting display errors? The race itself is perfect, but the main menu screen is fucked up. I can hardly chose what I want. Its like two times the same menu in the same window overlapping itself ..
time trial with the ignition. probably doesn't matter too much since you're always first anyway when you use the ignition. I'd love to play some multiplayer now... anyone up for it?
ignition = the ignition car it's a car that is best on every statistic, and you get it after winning the mirror mode. (first you must win novice, then amateur, then pro, then mirror. I don't know what you get for winning novice or amateur but when you win pro you get the vegas car which is the second best one, then mirror mode is like pro just that the maps have been mirrored so the first time you try mirror after having driven pro for a long time, you always end up making wrong turns and stuff. )
and whether there are other cars doesn't have to matter for best lap but your first round gets slowed down compared to time trial.
when you beat Amateur Mode you can use the Moster Truck after the next Mode there'll be the Veg (worst car ever)
and after Mirror Mode you get the Ignition, an über car and the only way to get the times I posted. IMO the best way to beat all difficulties is to stick to one car so you get the feel for it, other cars really are different in this game. then the whole point is to learn all tracks and knowing when to use the turbo, where the shortcuts are (with the ignition sometimes it's better to not use a shortcut)
i got around 45 on SI with one of the normal cars, i just cant figure out how to control the ignition.. its too damn fast and the turbo always gets me way ahead of what i had planned
