Its good post mate, you provide the few still playing with a properly administrated server just like we did. Allot of us have either no time, found new games or are just pissed/bored of the mod Day-Z. If we feel like it, we probably could set up some raids we will see.
We will be back for the standalone and TL willing there will be an TL server again. Tough my greatest fear for the standalone is that this shit will happen all over again. It will run on an Arma engine and the same mod team is in charge. Which as you know let the game degenerate into .. i dont know what to call it realy. A fucking farce

They do sound good, but the fact it has to be private and requires so much effort when there were so many hopes and dreams shattered by the cruel Rocket and his minions promising the world, yet delivering nothing pisses me off big time - especially when I paid for a month on a server and the public side of the mod died got killed.
I mean were't dogs supposed to be in the next patch? They showcased it at gamescom, bigged it up and then threw it on the sidewalk to be crawled over and eaten alive by hackers.
TL;DR Fuck you Rocket

Something Rocket posted, from the DayZ Forums. I don't think any new news on the standalone will be out until it's almost ready for release. + Show Spoiler +
I don't find anything funny about it all all.
When someone shits in the pool, it floats by us all.
Businessmen don't care for your tears after you have paid them money. And nor to do I. I am here to try and make great computer games, not play politics and trade insults. I don't care what the truth is, I don't care what the result is. There are no winners. There is no victory. This is all pointless bollocks, this is why I quit the video game industry before. So much bullshit, hype, insane fanboy/girlism. Consumerism. When I said that money would ruin everything, some people mocked me. Well. Here it is. The bed has been made, and I'll be damned if everyone is now not going to sleep in it.
I've had enough.
I will do no further media interviews until DayZ standalone is out. None.
I wanted to try and make a great game and all that happens is a damn circus. I'm not just talking about the subject product here, the whole thing is a damn circus and I want nothing to do with that. I will be trying my best to make a great game, and I will quit and fall on my sword if I do not believe the product is good enough to release. Please do not continue to fill my Facebook, twitter, and email with gleeful or otherwise comments. I'm here to make a game.
Consumers, you need to wake up. This is your industry. Sure, indie developers are doing well now but that could rapidly change. Act like a rational person, and if you are a rational person, start trying to bring it into your industry. The only thing that matters is how you spend your money. Nothing else, nothing at all, will impact.
There are two things in the last two months I have grown to despise in this industry: - Preorders - Accessibility
Both, I have learned, are just industry code for "profit". Free-to-play (or microtransactions, I see no practical difference) would be on that list if it wasn't for the sense of inevitability thanks to consumer behavior.
Well, nobody pays for a game my name is on before you can try it out. And it will be designed for its challenge, not its accessibility. My games will be inaccessible. There are plenty of accessible games. I want challenging games with meaning.
Seriously if this whole circus, and I'm talking about both 'sides' and also all the media circus that goes on around DayZ in general... if that is the impact that I've made on the video game industry - then I'm ashamed to have been a part of it.

What a fucking pussy. It better be a awesome game when it comes out cause im excited for the standalone.
It's just bad that he showed us like dogs and more stuff and then all he does is release a bug fix and goes afk.
Also inb4 he just forgets about what he said about the interview and does loads of interviews and stuff delaying the standalone more.

What a fucking pussy. Well his point just flew over your head didnt it? No, I see his point, but he's acting like a little bitch. His game was hugely successful, and the standalone will be popular based on the popularity of the original mod.
However, this is a mod that he has abandoned after so much hype. Now he is going to refuse to do interviews when basically all he did in interviews was talk about how awesome the coming updates (that never came) or the standalone is going to be. He complains that the industry is for profit. Well derp, that's business. I know people want to make games that are popular based on the content and the challenge, but in a huge industry like this profit is one of the biggest priorities.
"Nobody pays for a game my name is on before you can try it out" What? This means the game will have a free beta? Oh wait no, it doesn't. Does that mean a free demo? No. He needs to stop bitching and deliver to his consumers, all he does is moan about the industry which he must rely on to keep him going. The media bandwagon is part of gaming these days.

Don't get me wrong I think he is a good guy who had a great idea but followed through with it badly, and doesn't know how to deal with the community properly. Everyone has to deal with haters, especially there more popular you get, and I don't think rocket knows how to. He seems to always come off as really pessimistic about the community, but he just needs to suck it up and deliver what he promises, and people will get off his back.

I think he's completely right, though. The gaming industry has been turning to shit over the past few years, and the consumers with it. I totally understand why he abandoned the mod, there's plenty that server admins can do to fix the big issues (just look at the hive i play on), and there's no reason to do double the work just to keep developing a mod in a different version of the engine that will die out as soon as the full product releases. He wasn't planning on ditching the mod, but he wasn't planning on Dayz going retail, either.
I totally feel where he's coming from, there's so much fanboism and hype and hate and anti-fans that it's just sickening, nobody has an objective opinion, everyone spews their bullshit, blames him for everything (really, it's HIS fault that people hack?), so he's fed up, and is going to continue with his work. What he's done is exactly the same thing I'd do in his situation. Gonna be a bunch of whiny fucks, fine then, into the corner with you.
EDIT: Zork, did you take my as50? plz say you did...i really hope those tents weren't compromised already.

No man, I didn't. Fuck.
It is possible the tent just didn't save or there was a bad restart?

Nah, it'd saved through 2 restarts by that point. Oh well....at least I know how to dupe now.
