searching up and down all over the damn coast with our boat that was still safe, an hour or more later we finally got two wheels and fixed it and got it out of there. that van has seen so much shit man, you wouldn't even know.
the shaggin' wagon shaggs again Why would you be hunting people with LMGs and sniper rifles in elektro- a.k.a. noobtown? Shouldn't you be camping stary or NW airfield or something? Or do you just need flashlights and painpills that bad. I'm just confused- seems like a waste of time. Well I personally prefer stary/NW because the action is more hardcore, but naturally there's also risk involved. I understand if people want to just casually gun people down with little risk. It's like a "minigame", a break from the action, target practice, casual killing sprinkled with occasional encounters with geared players. It's just exploiting the fact that once you work your ass off for gear and you don't feel like risking it but still want action, just prey on those lower on the food chain. Once you've got tons o' stuff there's no risk whatever you do. There's still other people equally geared and worse yet a fresh spawn with a bandage, no tools, no other meds, no food, no water, noob backpack, no sidearm, civ clothing but an Enfield with one mag can fuck over your 30+ hour super geared character if he happens to see you first.

Of course if you have nothing worth keeping then just respawn and start a new character.
yea thx for the help, I had nothing on so i respawned anyways. XD

Agree with Ghazi. Risk is all relative to how you play. I like my goodies so my risk is going to that damn airfield I can't stay away from and possibly getting shot.
I have a silenced m4 with a dmr in my bag and I still go to the airfield. I still have to go to the hospitals to get meds. Now I have somewhat of a camp and Im stocking up on goodies and weapons now. So dying wont be as bad eventually but I'd still hate to lose my Silenced M4 to a random backpack dude with a Lee Einfield.
Most of the people that have tons o' stuff usually end up in firefights with other people that have tons o' stuff cause they both know the spots to camp to kill the fresh spawns.

Only two days into my vacation and I am already missing dayz. It seems that this game is really addicting.

The patch was supposed to fix the god damn debug forest, now i lost my ghilie suit, am in debug forest. I would suggest anyone else thats also in debug forest to join a random server that shows where you are on the map(if u have a map) and see if ur near a city/town and head for that direction. but this is crap really, last time i walked in the debug forest it took me around 1:30 hour to get out of it, and u need 3 drinks / 3 food.

Can't play my regular server (not hiveminded) because I updated, and can't play any other server in asia as they havent updated too...really wanted to play day z today ;-;

Ya the hour and a half sounds about right... but you don't need 3/3... just 2/2 (assuming you're at a decent blood level)
cuz you can let your food/water drain your blood a good ways before you consume, thus making it last that much longer...
edit: are the servers working yet? I still need to know if i lost that tractor or not

seem to be getting rolled back on 1.7.2 servers everytime i swap server

Well if you've played any of the Operation Flashpoint style games (Arma is the "spiritual successor") you'd know that's exactly the way it's supposed to be! In reality, if you want to stay alive, be prepared to crawl, scout, wait patiently, crawl more, hide in bushes...
Or of course, you can throw caution to the wind and flap around like a goose until you've got some good gear and THEN go stealthy - since the loss of, well, nothing... isn't a big deal.

No-one is safe from Lee Enfields, doesn't matter what you have!
A friend seems to be very good at acquiring sniper rifles from dead people with the help of revolvers & lee enfields - the other day we were roaming around near Elektro and he shot another sniper - I ran in to check the body because I had no items yet, and it was on a roof.
LMG, 50cal Rifle, all the gear in the world. Within 5 minutes of logging in.
Fact of DayZ is there's no fun in just *having* big guns - the joy is in getting to use them, and to use them you have to risk losing them. I had the LMG, .50, all utilities including rangefinder and night vision, and an M9SD, for all of 4 minutes... When DayZ decided that going prone was unacceptable and spontaneously hurled me off the roof to my death.
:D nevermind.

So was commited to walk in debug forest and then ended up dying as soon as I logged in. probably someone shot me since they were 8 people around me. Good times......... dunno if i wanna continue playing this game to having a 10 day char with full gear get lost to an update / debug forest / shit.

It's Alpha bro. Didn't you have fun gearing up? Get back at it!
It's too bad you need to find a ghillie suit before you're allowed back in your squad though!

I doubt it lol
It's gonna hit beta and then they are going to end up migrating to arma 3 and go back to alpha for the new engine, then hit beta again, then go to alpha as a standalone game with their own engine, then beta, then release candidate, then release.
It'll be a while.

I logged in to the TL server in the NW airfield barracks. Saw two guys outside. I asked if they were friendly, and they said they were gonna "fuck me up." I ran into the hallway and opened fire with my M14 AIM and killed both of them with 3 shots. I think they were mad.

*sigh* just got killed at Stary, sniped from the buildings dropped to the group wanted to get up and take some shots back but my guy had locked facing in a certain position. I could move around but not change the direction he was facing.... How do I change that? I've had it happen to me before but I've always disced to get rid of it and I didn't want to be lame and disc while getting shot at so I just stood up and took the shots, cause I couldn't face him...
