That won't help at all.

Played a dual wielder for a bit and combat just feels very unresponsive. The press vs hold mouse button system feels clunky and there is almost no feedback if you hit or miss your opponent. How do games manage to get something as basic as combat wrong, Doesn't matter what your game does if the combat feels bad it isn't fun to play.

Its very laggy. Thats why it feels unresponsive. Several times I've charged up with a heavy attack only to have nothing happen, and then a second later the guy dies.
This is a stress test after all, so I'm not surprised. I wasn't expecting the game to be quite early in its beta period though. They have a lot to fix and polish before this game could be good.

A surprising amount of gaming companies out there treat beta's as free limited demos where everything is almost completed. What a beta is is completely up to the developer. Remember dota 2 was in beta for 2 years, and it was nowhere close to what it was at release. Same with minecraft.
The big question is what they do after this. How much they redo, fix, how long they take, etc.

Dota 2 and Minecraft added plenty of features/polish, but the core did not change. This game has serious core issues that can't possibly be fixed in 3 months. If the game was early alpha, sure there might be some hope, but this is pretty bad for something that's going to be released soon.

I disagree. The core (as in game engine) is well in place. What they need is to make the combat and skill system more interesting, and not so damn unresponsive. This can't be fixed in 3 months I agree. I can be fixed in a year or two tho. And I would really suggest that they do spend that time revamping the entire combat system.

Planetside 2 was OUT of beta and revamped their engine to run more smoothly on a better variety of computers (Operation: Make Faster Game) so I'm sure the fixes will come.
Too many pessimists I say.

It's very obvious from the Elder Scrolls Online beta what direction they are going for, and that's where you have the problem: They aren't even trying to make a decent online elder scrolls game, they are trying to make a generic MMO but in first person. They might add a few skills before release, maybe change some areas... but the way you play the game now is how you're going to play the game then, and it's not fun. They need a complete redesign of the core gameplay for it to become fun.

I doubt anyone who is complaining is worried about the "smoothness". The game is boring, not demanding.

I have been trying to log in since last night - every couple of hours I try again - no luck. Between the terrible connection / server issues and people saying the game just plain sucks (general consensus) this sounds like it'll be a flop. If it cost anywhere near as much as SW:TOR did to create then I think Bethesda is going to lose a lot of money.

Amazing! Though I'm not sure I'll be able to download it all until it ends! When is the official time for the end of the test?

Someone was quicker then i guess, don't think they are bound to the account.

Seems like this game won't let me play anymore. Trying to leave the starting isle, and crashed. Whenever I try to login now it just says "character transfer failed" guess ill make a new one

I don't see them improving the combat, but I like the combat. Idk I think it's because I had such low expectations of this game that I find it a lot of fun. (up until I played the beta I have had a negative view of the game, then played it and was pleasantly surprised.)
I think a lot of the hate is people putting their expectations too high and expecting more then they should.

If someone could PM me a key so I don't have to race for it, I'd be super happy.

There are no "physics" and different body part hitboxes in combat arent there? I havent played the beta but from what I seen there arent any.

From the limited amount I played, it didn't seem like it. The combat is quite clunky and the hit detection seems pretty terrible, might be lag though. Could be that you do more damage from behind, with the sneak mechanic etc.
