Well that had to optimize it for xbox hardware so that's not surprising.

Did you ever participate in a Prealpha?...
Well there is a ton of stuff missing. I basically dont need to play at all. People around me just solve everything for me. Defend a ship for a minute? 20 people waiting for them on respawn. I havent seen a "boss" or anything stronger in ages. Everything is cleaned up and dead. Not that is a problem to kill anything. This isnt a beta.

Welcome in the MMO world. Have a nice time.
Btw. a beta is to test stuff in an unpolished game with lots of problems left. You are looking for a demo I guess. But that isn't surprising if you se the what companies sell as a beta recently.
Played through the tut by now and I already could choke up because of this steam punk trend in the recent years. Why Elder Scrolls? It doesn't even make sense. -.-

didnt think combat would feel this bad :0

Oh God, now I want to play this game even more badly.
If anyone has a key to spare, I'd play in blood, sweat and semen.
|
The game enginge feels way too shaky. I defenitely won't be paying money for this game, so i'm stopping the beta play.
|
To everyone who is desperate for a key, don't worry too much about it. Your expectations are probably completely unreasonable. If you're in ANY way thinking "Skyrim, but online!", rethink it completely. The game feels more like a techdemo of what skyrim could be with a massive budget at this point. The interface is similar, but the graphics are worse, the combat is terrible and everything feels really dumbed down, the starting area is just "walk forward. Open door. Follow corridor. Pick from 5 weapons. Talk to person. Welcome to tiny area where you can walk around and talk to people with useless oneliners. Go to next quest hub."
I had semi-high hopes, but at this point, it feels like a definite failure to throw on the massive pile of MMO games which are not worth installing.
To be fair though, I've only played a little bit, because the game has ridiculous loadtimes and has crashed like 3 times for me.

I'm gonna try out the beta after work today, but so far the reviews are quite negative. All I wanted was to be able to play Skyrim with a small group of adventurers like me doing quests and fighting foes.
|
My interest in this game has spiked solely for the fact that I spent last night going threw a webcomic about a failure of a khajiit drawn in ms paint. It was adorable and amusing. It's funny that the most interested I've been in elder scrolls stuff is due to pure chance. So now I kinda wanna try this see if it's worth the investment.

oh man, if someone had a key for me id be forever grateful

Played ESO for about 3 hours. I'm kinda liking it so far. It's definitely worse than Skyrim. I wouldn't be able to sit through quests all day, but can't wait to try PvP.
|
Oh well, hopefully I get it on the next beta week end, I just want to try it out so bad. I start a full time job in a couple weeks so I won;t have as much time, and I need to figure out which games ill want to play. I was hoping this would be the one :D

Just played this game for 10 hours and in conclusion I have to say that it's pretty much your standard run-of-the-mill MMO. Combat feels really clunky and boring, quests are generic backtracking journeys and there is 0 open world exploration, you pretty much just run from quest to quest. It's nothing like the single-player elder scrolls games.
I'm kind of disappointed, because I was honestly expecting a little more, but in the end this game is just another generic MMO with no innovative gameplay or mechanics.
|
I'm enjoying it. Combat is a little clunky, but it's still beta.
Have faith people

Its good for an MMO but i was hoping for something new in 2014. The combat is just too dull even though Elder Scrolls gives you action-oriented combat. You hit with your mouse and can dodge away from attacks but it doesnt feel right. You are just spamming attacks still.

Yeah . . . . I highly doubt much is going to change before release.

The good old "its only a beta" - excuse. A beta is essentially a finished product with some bugs that still need to be fixed etc... I've participated in many beta tests and never once was the final version of the game drastically different from the beta, in most cases it was basically the same game minus a few bug fixes.
A beta is pretty much just quality assurance, you can't and shouldn't expect a re-design of the game at this stage, even just combat mechanics won't change from now until full release, I can guarantee you that with 100% confidence.

anyone in the EU has login problems right now aswell? i cant loging since 30 mins ago ....always error 201 but the error description of the supportpage doesnt help since i dont ahve any unique letters in my name -.-.-.-.-.-.-

stopped playing after level 7. The game feels very rushed. They should reschedule the relase for 1 year. In its current state the game is gonna be a disaster.
