"The team to beat" only means whatever team has the most media attention, which the Spurs will never get even if they get Lebron, Jeremy Lin and Justin Bieber. The Spurs are looking strong and have a decent shot this year. That being said the last win was a bit lucky. Beautiful assist from Chris Paul to Gary Neal

At first I thought it was how close each team is to bonus but both teams were in bonus and one team had 2 ticks, the other had 3 so thats not it. Timeouts?

So while I do think OKC has been the best team in the West all season long, I am still not sure they are the clear-cut #1 contender in the West come a 7-game playoff series. Although it could still change as the season goes on, they have started to look like the biggest obstacle for a ship-seeking team though. Before this season you could say they were a younger team who was on the cusp of getting it all down right and breaking into the elite, and now you can't deny it. I am just not so sure it is as clear to call Thunder the "team to beat" in the West as we would clearly call Miami the "team to beat" in the East I guess. PS There isn't necessarily a "team to beat" every season(in my mind). Some seasons there are a few good teams who all have a fairly equal chance of making it.

The East looks like a lock for Chicago vs Heat. Unless something dramatic happens injury wise, I don't see any other East team being able to take them in a seven game series.
