The fact that everyone used the same spec wouldn't be the piece of data that caused the change in the talent system. Everyone knew that everyone used the same spec, you didn't need data to tell you that. Ninja Turtles appeals to 8 year olds, not 18 year olds. 18 year olds watch violent movies and pornography, not kiddie shows and pandas. the fuck is wrong w/ u? Ninja Turtles is the shit! Every1 @ every age loves ninja turtles. And if you have badass martial art monks/beer chugging pandas, what's there to not like? When I played Cata and Wrath, I was seriously put off by the super-serious tone of those games. In this game, I got sold when I saw my first beer elemental :D. W/ regards to the data collected for the old talent system, it's not about whether or not the data showed if people liked or disliked the old talent system, it was about using the data collected to make the game better and more accessible. In the past, if you didn't take talent A and talent B, you weren't being creative in your build, you were just being a bad player. Now, not only are all the important abilities automatically given, but the talents give you real choice in how you want to play the game.

I must not have been clear enough -- what was "data driven" about the talent system changes was their ability to confirm that people actually were concentrating their talent builds into a small number of choices. That's the kind of thing that anecdotal evidence can be very wrong about.

There is more benefits than simply farming, for both sides. And no this isn't anything illegal or bannable.

I am on one and the amount of people from full servers trying to come over to farm is "interesting."

Other news, arena started today. I think its actually the best first day of arena for an expansion ever. Which isnt saying much considering how bad the last ones all were, but its actually much better than I expected.

People only want to cross realm to low pop servers to farm for eggs. Had some guy whisper me trying to get me to add him to real ID so he could farm on my dead ass server for them. and to think I found 3 while he was begging me. Yeah right I'm going to add more competition. This is the ONLY benefit of playing on a dead realm, why would I want others ruining that, especially before I get my mount.

Not sure I really miss wow, but I do miss the people I used to raid with. Think they are on Zul'jin now. Anyone else there?

Me and some RL friends that raided during TBC together are thinking about playing to do challenge mode dungeons. (Well they are playing and I am debating if it is worth the money. I am leaning in favor of it atm). Anyone that actively plays I have a question. I have 65k gold and if I play again I plan on transferring servers to play with RL friends. Kinda want to make some gold when I transfer so what are some items that sell like hotcakes and have a relatively high value(IE They sell for 500g plus per stack). I want to find a couple items with high price differences between the servers and make some gold reselling them on the new server. Any items you can think of?

You can farm some of the older raids and stuff and sell weapons and armor from them, they usually sell for like 20g or something to the vendor, which isnt bad.

Yet another proof that the gaming industry is not drived by the thrill of making good games, but rather to make money no matter what. I spent hundreds of hours playing WoW and I still think those were tremendously fun and worthy. As of right now, I wouldn't be playing it not even if I'd get paid to do so. Hundreds of hours? Bitch, please. Try 732 days /played. Seriously though, you think the gaming industry doesn't make good games because they "copied" an RPG class (and because you're so misinformed you think Kung Fu Panda predates WC3)? This just in, all RPGs have pretty much the same class archetypes. Blizzard is not going to change WoW into a completely different game because you lost interest, any more than they're going to make SC2 not an RTS because you're sick of clicking so much.

I'm tempted to play but honestly these days I can't see myself paying a subscription fee for WoW. There are so many good games out there that doesn't have subscription fee. Starcraft 2, Guild Wars 2, Torchlight 2 that I play. If WoW ever goes F2P I'll probably play it again but won't pay a sub again.

I tried MoP out for a couple of days and it looks fun... but numbers just don't add up anymore with games like GW2, TL2, Dota2 and LoL that I more or less regularly play all being essentially free; hell, I could even get Dawnguard for a month worth of WoW and I know it's going to provide me with a hell of a lot more playtime in the long run. I may just pick up WoW during the next summer holidays or something, when I can go crazy no-life mode get and some value out of the sub.
